Getting Started With The Form Builder

DrChrono’s template customization tools can be accessed through the ‘Clinical’ section of your navigation bar. Simply hover over ‘Clinical’ and select ‘Form Builder’. You’ll be taken to an interface divided into three core sections that make it easy to build or modify templates: 

  • ‘Form List’ (Left Panel): Choose from customizable preset templates included with your account, templates you've already created, or download additional ones from the community-sourced template library
  • ‘Form Preview’ (Center Panel): Displayed in the shape of an iPad, this section allows you to visually construct your form. Simply select a field type from the ‘Form Tools’ menu and click on the preview to add it
  • ‘Form Tools’ (Right Panel): Here you’ll find all the available field types—such as checkboxes, switches, buttons, and text fields—that you can drag into your form. Each field can be customized to reflect the flow of your documentation style
