One thing that really works in its favor is how widely available it is, including in countries like China. Most of my online payments come from clients there and this has been the only platform outside their country that they can reliably use to send money to foreign customers like me.

Cons

transaction charges are just too high. My customers already have fees deducted before the payment even reaches me, then I get charged again on my side. On top of that, when I transfer the money to my debit card, there's yet another fee. I could accept paying fees if they were reasonable but these charges feel excessive and unfair.

Handling payments through it feels safe and simple, both when sending money and when getting paid.

Connecting it isn't much of a hassle but there are still limits on what you're allowed to do depending on the country.

Working as a freelancer, I honestly see it as one of the best innovations to come along in recent decades. It has made sending and receiving money much simpler, both within my country and internationally. I'm especially impressed by how simple the platform is to use and how uncomplicated it makes financial transactions feel. Another big advantage is how widely accepted it is as a trusted and recognized payment method around the world. On top of that, the strong level of security it offers makes it one of the top applications in this space.

Cons

Overall, I wouldn't say there are any major flaws or serious weaknesses. That said, the team could still improve the app's user interface to make it more appealing and flexible. I also keep hoping the transaction fees can be lowered to better suit users in developing countries and people with limited incomes.

Receiving payments through this app has been easy for me. The platform is simple to use and I can move my funds over to my card without any issues.

The fee for transferring money to my account feels quite expensive and on top of that, they require a minimum amount before you're allowed to make the transfer.

Adding payment cards is quick and using PayPal for purchases is very convenient. It also feels more secure to me because I haven't had any mystery charges which is something I've dealt with when using a regular credit card.

Making and receiving payments with this software has been really simple. The features are easy to understand and setting up my account was quick without any confusion. I also appreciate having access to it through the mobile app which makes it even more convenient to use. Another thing I genuinely value is the verification process because it gives me confidence that my account is well protected.

it isn't available to every seller which can be limiting. On top of that, the transaction fees are quite high especially in my country.

“Practical way to pay”

These days, it feels like a dependable, fast and practical way to pay. One of its biggest advantages is being able to use it from almost anywhere in the world and it's accepted by a huge range of services. I've been using it for many years and, luckily, I've never had any issues linking my cards. In fact, whenever I receive money through PayPal, it transfers automatically to the debit account I connected from the start.

Cons

Even with all those advantages, the fees are still a downside. There are charges for transactions, currency conversion, sending money, receiving money and even moving funds from one place to another. the deals, discounts and other fee-saving options usually feel complicated and not really worth the effort. They should seriously rethink their pricing and be more flexible with the cost of the service.

Accepting and sending payments with it is incredibly simple. It connects without much effort to almost any off-the-shelf software which makes it a must-have for handling payment processing. I've never run into any trouble when receiving or sending money through it.

Cons

On the rare occasion something does go wrong, customer support can be inconsistent. It really feels like luck of the draw whether you end up with a helpful agent or someone who doesn't resolve much.

Refunds often end up delayed because of disputes and the mobile app doesn't perform very well. The signup process can also take quite a while especially for first-time users.

Being able to pay online without exposing my personal information is one of the biggest reasons I rely on it. That added layer of security matters a lot to me. On top of that, the invoicing tools and credit card payment processing are essential for keeping my business running so it covers both personal and business needs really well.

Cons

Crypto trading feature could definitely be improved. Aside from that, there really isn't much else about the platform that I dislike.

We put it in place for our small ecommerce site around 12 years ago and it has remained part of our setup ever since. There are hundreds of integrations available and adding them is usually just a one-click job. The invoicing tool is very simple and even has a bit of personality to it. Receiving payments is as simple as sharing an email address. Seller protection covers both goods and services which adds peace of mind. Tax documents and FIRA can be accessed quickly without any hassle. The newer API is flexible and has worked really well with our ecommerce platform. We also haven't run into failed payments or disputes which has been a big plus. Settlements arrive the next day and the branded checkout page helps keep the buying experience professional.

Cons

The part that gets frustrating is the fee structure because charges seem to appear at every stage. There's a fixed fee, a percentage-based fee and then a currency conversion fee on top so international transactions can end up costing close to 10%. Some of the older settings pages still use a legacy-style interface that feels frustrating and a few options are confusing or duplicated. Support is also not very quick when you need a response. On top of that, the interface can be laggy at times and I often end up staring at loading icons more than I'd like.

It's really convenient that most shopping sites already support PayPal which makes checking out a lot more convenient.

Customer service is frustrating to deal with. Their response times are extremely slow.

Pros

Among the payment platforms I've used, this is one of the safest for sending and receiving money. Getting started is quick, it has worldwide support and almost everyone already has it on their phone which makes transactions much more practical. Being able to connect it directly to credit or debit cards also makes it really convenient for both work-related payments and personal finances.

Cons

fees can be quite high and sometimes feel excessive. There are also times when money that was sent or received gets temporarily held without a very fair explanation and that can delay plans or payments that depend on those funds.

“It has grown over the years”

Pros

After more than 10 years of using it, I've seen it grow well beyond just eBay. As the product has developed, the ways to use it have gotten better too. Having everything available in one app with plenty of detail has really helped me make the most of it whenever I can.

Cons

Across all the time I've used this product, I honestly haven't run into anything I dislike. There may be issues for some users but up to this point I haven't experienced any problems with the payments I've made or received.
