“effortless setup”
Pros
Across the client projects we've worked on, PayPal has been the payment provider we trust the most and it's also been one of the simplest to get up and running. It integrates really well with multiple plugins and libraries across nearly all of our platforms which makes implementation much easier.
Cons
Integration itself hasn't been an issue but merchant settlement options are still limited in places like the Caribbean and parts of South America. In some Caribbean countries, for instance, direct settlement to a local bank account just isn't possible. Merchants need access to a bank account in a supported region in order to transfer funds. We've been hoping for local bank support for the past 8 years but there still doesn't seem to be much movement in that direction. At this point only time will tell.

“Money-back guarantee”
Pros
It ended up being my favorite option for sending payments to different companies and businesses especially because of the money-back guarantee. It also helps a lot that it's accepted and used pretty much everywhere.
Cons
Only real problem for me was how long the verification process took before I could use the cash-out feature. On top of that, getting verified to qualify for PayPal credit required sending in a lot of paperwork.

“worldwide payments made simple”
Pros
PayPal makes it really convenient to handle online transactions whether it's shopping online or paying for things worldwide. It's very useful and simple to use.
Cons
I honestly can't point to anything missing here because everything about it has been amazing for me.

“versatile”
Pros
I think it's really useful that PayPal works well for both personal transactions and business use and the fact that it's free makes it even better.
Cons
Honestly there's not much to complain about. If anything, I'd just like to see more stores accept PayPal as a payment option.

“Reliable platform”
Pros
It's a trusted platform and is used by a huge number of people which makes it feel reliable and widely accepted.
Cons
Getting in touch with a real person can be really difficult when you actually need to speak to someone. The workflow also seems to change from time to time and the currency conversion fees are a lot higher than what most banks charge.

“too pricey”
Pros
The API is simple to work with for mass payment processing which makes setup and day-to-day use pretty convenient. It also provides detailed transaction reports and being able to fund mass payments with credit cards instead of relying only on bank accounts is a really useful option.
Cons
Customer support has been terrible. When something goes wrong, it's very hard to reach a knowledgeable person who can actually help troubleshoot the issue. On top of that, the transaction fees for API-based mass payments are quite high.

I find taking care of my business digitally with PayPal to be very simple and the overall functionality covers what I need without getting in the way.
Cons
Nothing comes to mind right away as a downside.

“Broad shopping access”
Pros
Using PayPal has been pretty convenient because the service is fast and I feel fairly secure linking my credit card to it even if not completely. I also like that the minimum deposit amount is very low. Another thing I really appreciate is being able to earn PayPal gift cards just by playing games online, then use them to shop on almost any eCommerce site like Amazon, eBay and others.
Cons
The fees for payments made outside the PayPal system are usually quite high. Receiving money can also take around three business days which is frustrating when you need it right away. And even though PayPal keeps data on encrypted servers, that still means there is some risk of fraud with your account.

“Convenient & reliable”
Pros
We've been using PayPal for many years and it has consistently been reliable and simple to use.
Cons
At times the fees for business use can be higher than some other options but the online support is quick and helpful.

“simple navigation”
Pros
Using PayPal has been a really positive experience because the features are simple to navigate and never feel overly complicated. I usually don't have to reach out to support just to figure something out which makes it very convenient. Another big advantage is that this payment method is accepted globally so it works well almost anywhere.
Cons
One downside with PayPal is the transaction fees especially on some foreign currency payments. They are not high all the time but in certain cases they can feel a bit expensive and could definitely be reduced.

“smooth card payments”
Pros
Right from the start, PayPal has been my go-to option. The biggest advantage is being able to pay with my credit card without having to type in all my card details on every website. That keeps my card information protected and lowers the risk of anyone copying or cloning it.
Cons
PayPal has been excellent overall. It's very simple to use, feels highly secure and I honestly don't have any downsides to mention.

“Efficient app”
Pros
Their mobile app feels simple to navigate. That ease of use is a big reason I keep choosing PayPal over other prepaid banking and financial services. It makes accessing my money, as well as sending and receiving payments, really easy.
Cons
Don't have any complaints about the software.

“flexible card linking”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate about this software is that I can connect both my debit and credit cards to it. If my e-wallet balance isn't enough, it automatically charges the remaining amount to my linked debit or credit card which is very convenient.
Cons
The part I really don't like about PayPal is the conversion fee. In my situation since I'm from the Philippines and my card is internationally issued, I have to pay 1 dollar for every transaction I make and that feels very expensive.

“works across everything”
Pros
I've connected my credit card to my PayPal account and added PayPal as a payment method on several platforms, including Facebook Marketplace, online clothing sites, eBay and Apple Pay.
Cons
Customer service is still a weak spot, with long wait times and support that isn't very helpful.

“Versatile invoicing”
Pros
PayPal has been a really solid option for us because it's very user-friendly. The interface is simple to move around in so it doesn't take much effort to figure things out. There are also plenty of customization options (more than we usually need) but it's been nice having that extra flexibility whenever the situation calls for it. The invoicing and payment processing features also help customers feel more secure about sharing their payment details and paying online is much more convenient than dealing with cash, checks or taking payments over the phone. The app has come in handy too especially when I need to check something quickly while out or send an invoice without having a computer nearby.
Cons
Every now and then, the reports section can be glitchy and I'm not always able to access the reports right when I need them. I'd also welcome a few more choices for recurring or scheduled invoices. That said, it's possible I just haven't gone through enough of the tutorials yet so I plan to dig into that more since it hasn't felt completely obvious so far.

“easy invoicing and access”
Pros
Whether I'm using the app or logging in online, this product is always convenient to access. Sending invoices and letting customers pay me is simple and I've never had issues with money coming through. I'm also perfectly fine paying the small fee when I want instant access to my funds.
Cons
Getting in touch with customer service can take a bit more effort although I hardly ever run into problems that make it necessary.

“cash-free customer payments”
Pros
Being able to take customer payments without relying on cash was something I really appreciated.
Cons
I don't like that your legal name has to be displayed. Not everyone needs to see my legal name especially since I don't even go by that name anymore.

“handy ACH”
Pros
The ACH option and invoicing tools have been excellent for both me and my clients.

“Reliable for eBay sales”
Pros
Back when eBay was booming, I started using PayPal to receive money from a buyer who lived far away after I sold them an item. Having PayPal customer service available really helped calm my nerves because I could reach out to them and get issues handled when needed.
Cons
The downside is that they changed the old setup to a newer platform so I've had to relearn things like how to add a credit card all over again.
