“strong track record”
Pros
One thing I can say about PayPal is that it has built a strong track record over the years and that really shows when paying online. Transactions feel quick and dependable and I like that I can choose between using the card connected to my PayPal account or the balance already sitting in PayPal. That flexibility alone makes it a really practical way to keep better control of my money.
Cons
On the receiving side, there are times when a fee gets deducted from the payment amount. I understand that's part of how PayPal earns from the service but it can still be annoying especially when the amount being sent wasn't very high to begin with and the fee takes an even bigger bite out of it.

“Simple navigation”
Pros
Using this software is really convenient and the whole thing feels very simple to navigate and use.
Cons
Transaction fees that come with using it is annoying. Nobody enjoys paying extra fees but that's just part of how it works.

“safe and convenient”
Pros
Paying or receiving money with PayPal is really convenient and that's a big reason I keep using it. It also gives me more peace of mind online because I feel better protected from hackers.
Cons
Customer service takes too long when there's an issue that needs to be resolved.

“widely accepted platform”
Pros
It's recognized in a lot of countries. Most apps also support transactions through its platform which makes it a very convenient payment service to rely on.
Cons
The platform fees are quite high especially when exchange rates are involved. The extra cost can feel excessive sometimes ending up around 10% above the original amount so this is definitely something the platform should regulate to avoid complaints and concerns.

“outstanding for US accounts”
Pros
Back when I was using PayPal as a sponsor, it was an outstanding partner for me. If you have a US account, all of the features are available and they work reliably. Getting help or support was never difficult since I could actually reach someone. Transactions always arrived on time and sometimes even earlier than expected. That made it very effective for handling most paid services.
Cons
Over the last two years though, a lot of the terms and conditions have changed and some accounts have been heavily affected, including mine. I was living equally between two different countries and had two IDs and somehow PayPal suddenly and permanently shut down both of my accounts while only showing error codes as an explanation. I tried verifying the account again with my ID but nothing worked. I called countless times and waited for hours, only to end up stuck in an endless automated system and my emails never got a response either. On top of that, there was no way for me to close or delete the account.

“Great dispute process”
Pros
After using PayPal for a long time, I still trust it with my money. The dispute process gives me peace of mind and the transactions and policies are laid out in a clear, simple way.
Cons
The app no longer works like a digital wallet where you can just add money to your account. Now, funds can only be added when you're making some kind of transaction.

“Safe mobile payments”
Pros
Being able to handle payments entirely from my phone is the biggest selling point of PayPal and it still feels like one of the safest and most convenient platforms for online transactions. I can send or receive money right from my bedroom and every payment is encrypted and properly recorded. It also helps that I can connect my bank account, credit cards, debit cards and even other mobile services in one place. My funds are available whenever I need them, no matter where I am. On top of that, transactions are usually processed very quickly and the fees are often quite low.
Cons
One thing that gets frustrating is the two-factor authentication when I'm outside my home country. It becomes a real hassle if the verification is tied to a phone number because roaming charges can be very expensive. That can make it difficult to approve online purchases or complete transactions that need two-factor authorization while traveling. In situations like that, it may be worth turning off two-factor authentication before a trip.

“multiple payment options”
Pros
Given how widely it's used, PayPal provides several payment processing options and its layered security setup makes any of them a reliable choice depending on what you need.
Cons
With more competition in the market and other processors offering better pricing, PayPal still feels expensive.

“fast processing and low fees”
Pros
Payments through PayPal go through in seconds which makes it really convenient. The processing fees are lower than many other options and withdrawing money straight to a bank account is very helpful. I also feel confident keeping funds there because the security is strong. Another big plus is being able to buy from online stores directly with PayPal Checkout. If my PayPal balance is low, I can still send money using my credit card or linked bank account. Sending and receiving payments is simple and saves me from dealing with the usual long bank procedures.
Cons
One frustrating issue is that PayPal can suddenly shut down an account and hold the money in it for up to 180 days if it gets flagged. There are also country-based limitations especially in parts of West Africa which can make the service inaccessible or restricted for some users.

“Held funds, absent support”
Pros
Pretty much the only advantage is how widely used it is. Almost everyone already has an account and that's really the only reason we end up using it. Aside from that, I don't see any real benefit.
Cons
Honestly there's a lot wrong here. They can hold your payments for ridiculously long periods sometimes up to six months and they may shut down your account for reasons that make no sense. On top of that, scammers can create new customer accounts and take advantage of the system, while you're left with no real way to fight it. The worst part though, is the customer service which is basically nonexistent. And even when you finally reach an actual person, they just tell you there's nothing they can do.

“variety of payment functions”
Pros
Across more than 20 years of using PayPal, we've relied on it in several businesses for a wide range of functions, including payment processing, invoicing, inventory tracking and shipping. The feature we keep coming back to most is its role as an online wallet that brings together different payment sources from multiple entities, letting us use them across most online vendors without handing our payment credentials to each one individually. That extra layer makes PayPal feel safer than paying merchants directly. From the business side, it has also worked well for receiving payments and adding payment options to outside websites, largely because customers already trust it and see it as a safer choice.
Cons
One issue we ran into is that PayPal really doesn't seem to support the merchant side. It tends to favor the customer which is frustrating for a credit card processor where you'd expect a more neutral stance. Because of that lack of balance, we stopped trusting PayPal as merchants years ago and switched over to private merchant service providers instead. As a customer, I'm perfectly happy knowing PayPal will usually back me in a dispute with a seller. But from a merchant perspective and especially as a business-to-business support provider in the web development space, it's not something we could confidently recommend to other businesses.

“Very dependabl”
Pros
Paypal has been a reliable way to send and receive money online and the security it offers makes transactions feel safe. Whether I'm paying for something online or receiving money, it handles the process well and gives peace of mind while using it.
Cons
Paypal works well as an online payment system but I really hope they improve access for users in smaller African countries. Right now, those limitations keep people there from enjoying the full range of services Paypal is capable of offering.

“secure transfers”
Pros
Using PayPal has made online payments so much more convenient for me. The whole platform is simple to use and the security features give me real peace of mind. It honestly takes the hassle out of online transactions and makes everyday payments much easier to handle.
Cons
Honestly I do not have any complaints. I am genuinely satisfied with everything they have provided.

“Great recurring bill options”
Pros
Plenty of payment options are available and the electronic signature feature works really well. PayPal was also one of the early platforms to handle that properly. The multi-period recurring billing setup is a big plus especially for arranging monthly recurring payments. Refund management is handled well too, it's simple to deal with and the processing time is reasonable.
Cons
Card processing for debit and credit cards works well overall but not every card is accepted. This is especially noticeable in Arab countries, where withdrawing funds can be difficult. Order management is decent although there are other platforms that feel faster and more convenient to use.

“helpful support”
Pros
Above all, PayPal feels like one of the safest and most secure online payment services available. It's extremely hard to get scammed when using it. On top of that, their customer support has been really solid. It's very simple to get in touch with them and they're responsive, helpful and willing to work with you. If fraud happens, they act quickly to refund the money. That kind of protection really gives peace of mind.
Cons
I don't like the fee for moving money from one account to another. You still have to pay quite a bit and I really wish transfers especially between family members, were free.

“Global accessibility and trust”
Pros
PayPal has a strong reputation and works pretty much anywhere in the world which is a huge advantage. The part I appreciate most is the global accessibility, how simple it is to use and the sense of security that comes with its trusted name.
Cons
The downside is the processing fees and if you are a new seller, they may hold your funds for a period of time.

“Fast processing”
Pros
Paypal feels very secure and dependable to use. Payments are processed quickly and it's a platform people trust a lot.
Cons
One downside is that it still isn't available everywhere in the world which puts it behind some competitors in the same space. The fees for business accounts are also quite high especially compared with personal or individual accounts.
