There isn't much about PayPal that bothers me. If I could change one thing, it would be to remove the fees entirely but I understand the reason they're there.

With this sending money is quick and easy. Everything feels smooth and I appreciate that it checks whether the person you're paying is registered which makes the transaction feel legitimate and secure. If anything does come up their advisors are friendly, approachable and put the customer first. I'd definitely recommend it to more people especially since you don't need to rely on services like Western Union. It also clearly shows the recipient's currency, what currency you're sending and whether the transfer is free or what the fee will be. On top of that the fees are reasonable and affordable which really matters for people sending money to family or friends.

Sending money to friends or family through PayPal is really quick and the payment usually arrives right away. Their customer service also responds fast whenever there's a problem and does what they can to help resolve it. Another nice feature is the deals page which gives discounts for shopping at online stores.

The biggest downside is that, compared with other money transfer apps, sending money can feel a bit pricey. There are also times when the app glitches, freezes or stops responding which can be frustrating.

A frustrating part for me was when I opened a dispute for a transaction with a vendor. Even after I provided as much evidence as possible, customer service wasn't able to help and I didn't receive the 30-day money-back guarantee.

PayPal does a really good job when it comes to security and I can see why it works well for e-commerce and people in finance or tech. It offers a lot of features and the analytical reporting is one of the stronger parts of the platform. That said, it doesn't really feel designed for small business owners in beauty or other service-based industries. To me, it seems better suited to highly specialized fields than service-focused businesses.

The part I was least happy with was the payment processing. PayPal handles payments more like a large corporate system which can be frustrating for a small business. There are times when I need to make a bigger purchase and can't wait 2 to 3 days for a client's payment to clear, then another 2 to 3 days for the money to actually reach my business account.

A lot of online stores accept it and it's also simple to set up for my own business. As a freelance writer and artist I've received payments through PayPal for my work and I've also been using it as a shopper for years. I remember there used to be a fee to withdraw funds but from what I understand now, that mainly applies when you're using the business features. Personal transfers should still be free. Their customer support has been very solid and one of the biggest advantages is the protection they provide to customers.

Something I remember from earlier on is that PayPal used to charge for transfers so I'm mentioning that in case it still applies in some situations. My biggest complaint is PayPal Credit which feels set up in a way that can trap people into paying high interest charges. A lot of the time when I'm trying to check out with PayPal, it seems to default to that option.

One thing I really appreciate is being able to contact the seller directly about something I'm purchasing instead of having to first deal with my bank or credit card company.

Dispute resolution can be difficult especially when the other party is an individual who may be trying to scam you, compared with handling the issue through a bank or credit card provider.

Connecting with other payment methods works really well. PayPal's global reach also makes it a strong choice for sending and receiving international payments. Another feature I really appreciate is PayPal Credit since it lets me split purchases into installments.

The iOS app dashboard could definitely use some improvement. At times, I have to scroll just to find my payment due because referral ads take up too much space at the top of the screen. I'd also prefer being able to complete transactions without being redirected out of the app to an in-app browser.

It's been dependable for me every time. It's also recognized worldwide which means I can use it on nearly any online store without worrying about compatibility.
