“handy when shopping”
Pros
One of PayPal's biggest advantages is how familiar it is. Most people who have spent any time online have either used it before or at least know what it is. I originally signed up years ago just to test it but over the past couple of years I've used it regularly for both sending and receiving payments. It's also handy when shopping on eCommerce websites because it keeps your actual credit card number private.
Cons
The biggest downside for me is the fees. There are charges when receiving payments and the currency conversion rates are not very favorable either. Because of that, you can end up losing around 6-9% of the money you receive.

“Clear payout tracking”
Pros
Keeping track of payouts and incoming payments is really helpful and the records are clear and useful to have.
Cons
A few features are a bit difficult to locate and getting to them can take more navigation than it should.

“works even at zero balance”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate about PayPal is that I can still use the card even when my balance is at zero. Since it's connected to my bank accounts, my in-store purchases still go through without getting declined. It was simple to set up and it's very convenient whether I'm paying online or using it in person. PayPal has been really convenient and dependable for me.
Cons
Honestly I don't feel like much needs to be changed. The only situation I ran into was when I recently tried to confirm that my second PayPal business debit card could still be used. Since I couldn't remember the email address tied to that account, the customer service representative wasn't able to verify my identity. In the end, I decided to cancel that card and continue using the business card I already use. Even then, I wouldn't really call it a negative because it showed they were protecting my confidential information properly.

“easy account transfers”
Pros
Being able to move money between accounts without hassle is probably my favorite part of PayPal and I also get a lot of value from their debit card since I'm not charged extra fees on every purchase, whether I'm shopping online or paying in a store.
Cons
The one downside that comes to mind is having to deal with frequent password changes because of weak security and the ongoing issue of accounts getting hacked.

“Unmatched security”
Pros
One thing that immediately stands out is how unmatched the security feels which really matters these days. I never have to stress about my account information ending up where it shouldn't. On top of that the platform is very simple to use. Payments from buyers come through within seconds and I can move the money to the account I want in just a few minutes. It's also available globally and that makes a huge difference for business.
Cons
Honestly I haven't come across any downsides yet so there's nothing I can really point to as a con right now.

“solved USA payment issues”
Pros
Using PayPal has worked out well for me. It helped me get past a lot of issues especially when it came to selling services in the USA and since I needed a way to receive my payments, PayPal was really the only practical option.
Cons
One thing it still lacks is better promotion and clearer positioning because a lot of people still don't really know about it. Since the service depends on people sending and receiving money with each other, they should do more to explain what they offer and make their services more visible. It would also be helpful if they provided users with a payment card.

“secure online transfers”
Pros
PayPal provides a secure and convenient way to make payments online. It's an excellent service for sending money electronically between individuals or businesses.
Cons
At times, the currency exchange rates aren't very favorable especially when dealing with larger amounts. Another downside is that some eCommerce sites, such as AliExpress, still don't accept PayPal as a payment option.

“Strong support”
Pros
For sending and receiving money it has been very convenient. The platform is easy to navigate and the security level is something I really appreciate. Their customer support has also been excellent whenever needed. It also connected well with my e-commerce website and the integration process felt secure and hassle-free.
Cons
I would change how quickly they can shut down an account they consider suspicious. I'd also like to see their fees come down a little.

“convenient inventory tools”
Pros
Handling payments has been really convenient with PayPal especially for accepting credit cards, keeping up with inventory tracking and processing online payments.
Cons
One thing I'm not happy about is that, as an eBay seller, PayPal is no longer part of money management the way it used to be.

“Excellent tax reporting”
Pros
PayPal has a mature, user-friendly interface, takes care of all my invoicing and payment needs and the reporting is excellent which makes tax season a lot less stressful.
Cons
There really aren't many downsides for what I use it for since it handles my fairly simple invoicing and payment tasks without any trouble. If I had to mention something, the website may not feel quite as polished as Square but the features are every bit as capable.

“Perfect for global payments”
Pros
Being able to receive payments online and create invoices for clients in one place has been really useful. It also helps me take on international online work since PayPal is widely used across the world. Another plus is that the transaction fees are fairly reasonable compared with other similar platforms.
Cons
At the moment in South Africa, withdrawing money to a bank account is really only easy for people who have an FNB account. Other local banks don't offer the same convenience and are limited to sending money into PayPal rather than allowing simple transfers out.

“flexible integration”
Pros
A big reason I've had such a positive experience with PayPal is how flexible the integration side is. It can be as simple as sharing your email to get paid quickly or send money to someone but it also has the infrastructure and features needed to connect with a wide range of products. I've used it for both personal and business purposes and I've also set it up for clients so they could accept payments. It's a fast, practical way to establish an online presence and start collecting money especially from customers outside the US. The part I appreciate most is the testing functionality in the integrations since it let me check whether client apps were processing payments correctly, whether a transaction went through or whether a card was declined and more.
Cons
Getting into the API documentation and figuring out which version to implement was a bit complicated at first but once I got past that learning curve, the rest worked out well.

“quick local bank transfers”
Pros
Getting started is quick and sending or receiving payments doesn't take much effort. I also appreciate that payments can be transferred directly to my local bank.
Cons
One thing I've noticed is that some banks' online platforms don't have a simple linking button although the service itself is still very convenient to use.

“Awesome live alerts”
Pros
The platform is very user-friendly and always feels highly secure. Whenever a payment goes through, I get a real-time alert right away letting me know about the charge. It's efficient and the whole process through PayPal is simple, fast and convenient. On the occasions when I've needed to dispute a payment, it was never a problem and everything was resolved quickly. I definitely plan to keep using this payment platform.
Cons
This doesn't seem to be an issue with PayPal itself but I have noticed that it doesn't always run as quickly on certain web browsers. Other than that, I really don't have any complaints.

Pros

“recieve funds easily”
Pros
Being able to receive payments through it has been the most valuable part and it also makes the checkout process simple for customers.
Cons
Getting it connected to our e-commerce platform was a little complicated although that was likely because our developers weren't familiar with it.

“Simple mobile SDK”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages of PayPal is how recognizable the brand is. Even though some other payment providers may do certain things better, PayPal has become such a familiar name over the past two decades that most users seem comfortable and secure using it. On top of that it fits well into custom applications and the SDK is fairly easy to work with especially for mobile development.
Cons
Their POS products are not my favorite part of the platform. I think Square and a few other competitors offer stronger options in that area and PayPal's fees also feel a little on the expensive side.

“Safer than other apps”
Pros
I'm not sure any other app handles money transfers quite the way PayPal does. Sending money through it feels much safer and the whole process is a lot more convenient.
Cons
When it comes to security, transfers in PayPal seem to carry a much lower risk of mistakes which makes the whole experience feel more reliable.
