Pros

Among online payment options, PayPal still feels like the most widely accepted platform out there, probably second only to VISA but much more secure and a lot more user friendly. It's far more accommodating to use than many other payment processors and the mobile app is incredibly convenient. It really does feel like carrying a bank in my pocket wherever I go.

Cons

A few vendors still avoid PayPal because they say the transaction fees they have to pay aren't worth it. I also recently found out they offer business loans which I would have genuinely liked to try but unfortunately that service is only available to U.S. citizens.

Pros

Using this program feels very simple because nothing about it is complicated. Pretty much anyone can use it and it does not seem limited to any particular age group. Another big advantage is the sense of security since there is less worry about fraud. It does not ask for credit card details to identify you and mainly works through your email which makes it feel very trustworthy. Once you register an account, you can handle everything you need without being asked for your credit card information.

Cons

I really have no major complaints but it would be even better if PayPal were available in more countries because that would make the service even more valuable.

Paying online especially across countries feels very simple with PayPal. When offering SaaS and setting up a purchase option, it's usually the first platform that comes to mind. The biggest advantage is how convenient it makes international payments.

Because PayPal's services are limited in the Sri Lankan market, getting the full benefit of the platform is difficult. We've been running into problems when trying to withdraw money and that really affects how useful it can be. No matter how good the product is overall, this restriction keeps many users here from fully adopting PayPal.

Right from login, PayPal gives quick access to everything I need. The interface is simple but still appealing and the payment history along with upcoming payments is laid out in one clear column which makes staying on top of transactions really convenient. It has always felt like a secure way to pay and the fact that more websites continue to support it makes me even happier to keep using it. I feel safe every time I use PayPal.

The website colors can feel a little plain but honestly that is the only real issue I notice with it.

Running an online service business, PayPal has been a reliable payment platform for me. It lets me receive payments from clients in different countries without much hassle which makes things very convenient. Once the money comes in, I can quickly convert it to my local currency and transfer it to our local bank account.

The downside is that there are times when the conversion rate is quite low so I end up losing a portion of my income. Still, that mainly comes down to the dollar exchange rate and the current currency conversion rate.

One thing I really appreciated was having addresses confirmed. That added some peace of mind when it came to fraudulent orders and if the package ships to that confirmed address, PayPal covers it which feels like a bit of extra insurance. On top of that some customers simply prefer paying with PayPal.

Customer support has become really frustrating because there's no one to actually speak with anymore. Maybe you'll get an email back within 24 hours but that doesn't help much when you're trying to assist a customer and close a sale during checkout problems. I sent a message and still haven't received any response and it's already been a week.

Right away, the thing I appreciate most about this software is how simple and user-friendly the interface is. Another big advantage is the strong security features and it also feels like very good value for the money.

One issue I'm still dealing with is linking my Landbank account to PayPal because it continues to show as 'checking.' I'm based in the Philippines.

The recent activity area makes important transactions easy to review at a glance and features like balance, deposits and money pools are all clearly organized and simple to monitor. It does a really nice job of balancing simplicity with efficiency.

I haven't personally run into this but people close to me have mentioned that the software occasionally behaves in odd ways. There have also been scams and controversies tied to PayPal so while I don't think it's something to constantly worry about if you're being careful with your money and personal safety, it's still worth keeping in mind. There's also a miscellaneous payment option that isn't exactly a downside though it could be a little confusing for someone using the platform for the first time.

PayPal has worked really well for both my personal use and my small business. It's one of the simplest ways I've used to handle recurring billing and send invoices to clients. The online support really needs improvement. I once had an issue transferring money from my PayPal account to my bank account after it went overdrawn and getting help was frustrating. I spent more than 3 or 4 hours being passed between 6 different people across 4 departments, only to finally learn that the transfer had been flagged for security reasons. After that, I still had to wait 48 hours for the system to reset. That whole process should be fixed as soon as possible.

Buyer protection is one of the best things about PayPal since financial details stay well secured. It also gives users access to their money anytime and from anywhere once they have an account set up. PayPal is especially popular with freelancers, particularly those working for international companies that do not support local payment options like Mpesa in Kenya. On top of that, it lets me pay for different things online and shop whenever I want through my PayPal account, as long as I have funds available.

One downside is that receiving money can sometimes take longer than expected. PayPal is also not available as a payment option in every country which limits its usefulness. Another issue is that there are restrictions on how much money a person can receive so there is not much freedom with larger amounts. If a big payment comes in, the account may be put on hold until the matter is reviewed and there is usually no clear timeline for how long that investigation will take.

Clients can send payments quickly from anywhere which helps a lot. It connected to our website without any hassle and I didn't need to spend extra money on a credit card terminal. Most of my clients are based in China and PayPal has been the best payment option for handling those transactions because it's quicker and simpler to work with. The receiver covers the bill which takes a lot of pressure off and leaves them really relieved. Whenever I need to receive payment for freelance work, I usually go with PayPal. It feels secure, the fees are reasonable and the money reaches my Romanian bank account within about 3 days. That makes it a really solid option. It's also widely accepted by many online stores so I can use the balance for shopping as well.

Cons

Even with all that, there are still plenty of online shopping sites that don't accept PayPal. It really deserves to be available on more websites.
