Makes me feel much more secure especially when I'm buying from websites I haven't used before. I'd much rather pay through PayPal than hand over my credit card details directly.

Cons

The payment process does not feel fully secure and the transaction technology seems a bit outdated. When a payment dispute comes up, reaching customer service is very difficult.

Cons

"Friends & Family" option is often offered in ways that can be misused. Because of the risk for the person sending the payment, the potential for abuse is higher here.

I really appreciate how widely accepted it has become. Over the years, it has appeared as a payment option on most of the websites I use and I have never run into any issues with my transfers.

A drawback of using PayPal is the number of emails and messages you get pushing you to sign up for PayPal credit cards.

The support team isn't as quick to respond as I'd like especially when compared with some other alternatives.

One of PayPal's biggest advantages is the level of trust people already have in the brand. When you sell something online and offer PayPal, customers usually feel much more comfortable entering their credit card information because they see it as a safe and reliable payment option.

The fees though, feel completely excessive. It seems like almost every money transaction comes with a pretty high deduction which feels unfair and over the top. On top of that, PayPal Business doesn't offer many integration options so connecting it with other tools isn't very convenient.

Love how easy to handle it is. I can rely on it both for everyday purchases and for sending money to family or friends without any hassle.

My only complaint is that my account was hacked once or twice in the past although that has not happened again since I turned on multi-factor authentication.

On more than one occasion, I ended up losing disputes against dishonest merchants who took my money and it felt like PayPal went along with it.

As a universal payment solution, it lets people in almost any country send and receive money quickly and securely. On the business side, it also connects with many e-commerce platforms and online stores which helps make the customer checkout process much more convenient.

The transaction fees and currency conversion rates are fairly high compared with other payment tools and the costs are even worse when operating from China.

It's not really a downside but the fees do have an impact on our bottom line unless we pass the processing cost along to the buyer. Even so, that tradeoff has been worth it for us because it lets us accept credit card payments and get paid faster.
