The customer service is top notch. The functionality is above and beyond
Pros

Rapid Garden POS offers all the features one could ever want and it is very easy to use. While the customer service is excellent, many of the features can be self-taught.

Cons

As we completed our first year with Rapid POS, I haven't come across any major concerns. If I had to point out something, I did make a few errors in invoice entries that couldn't be amended once posted.

Great for Garden Center
Pros

I really like how this system eliminates many manual functions that my staff had to perform with our old system. Although its capabilities are a lot more than our current needs but we will definitely learn about them. The user interface is highly user-friendly as it caters to staff of all ages.

Cons

The price rules function is a bit difficult to understand. Also it's not as user-friendly as I expected, especially since we are still in the process of building our business. I know it has the potential to work but it's not as easy as the tutorials make it seem.

Solid POS software. Easy to learn. POS transactions are pretty easy and quick to process.
Pros

The open API is a standout feature. It allows us to easily extract data from CounterPoint for use in other applications. The button interface is intuitive which allows for quick navigation through menus. The import function in data interchange is a powerful tool for updating and adding information to the database. The merchandise analysis report proves highly valuable for our buyers and inventory management, although we did request a couple of modifications.

Cons

The purchasing module lacks adequate reporting features. There is no open PO report or expected delivery report, which are essential tools for merchandise management. The software doesn't align well with all the aspects of our business, as we operate a design/build landscape business and a farm production/manufacturing business. Counterpoint doesn't meet their needs effectively, leading us to rely on MS Access databases for a significant portion of our work outside the system. Out of the box, the system is quite basic, requiring substantial customization to fit our business model. The cost of updating and maintaining the software can become quite high.

Overall it's a very good POS system. It took me some time to learn my way around it.
Pros

We able to detect mistakes sooner rather than later which is great and new employees learn the system quickly. As someone working more on the accounting side, I find numerous features that I love.

Cons

Initially, the system isn't very user-friendly. It takes time to resolve any issues or glitches and it's not at all very forgiving when mistakes are made (making corrections isn't always easy). Additionally, we are unable to easily look up an item to see its previous purchase history and the vendor it was purchased from.

Rapid Garden POS has been great to work with.
Pros

Rapid Garden POS is quite user friendly. Loading items and setting up the program is intuitive and simple. The large icons on the POS system make the whole process highly visible.

Cons

It would be more convenient if we could perform look-ups by typing in a partial word and having the system pull up relevant options.

We spent a long time preparing for the new program, but have still had many issues.
Pros

Our previous software lacked the transaction tracking and comprehensive reports that are available in this system. So I am pretty much satisfied with this product.

Cons

Occasionally, we encounter usability issues that are not as smooth as we would prefer. There have been instances where changes we made were forgotten or other problems that needed to be addressed. Overall, we haven't been satisfied with how our vendor handled these issues or their expertise, despite eventually resolving them. Some issues should not have occurred or should have been resolved more effectively.

Good software, but it seems to always be in production, and never in quite the finished state.
Pros

Sales associates and cashiers find it easy to learn and use. The touchscreens make look-ups and repetitive sales quick.

Cons

I am not sure if Counterpoint is making significant improvements. Every update seems to introduce problems, including printing issues, slower performance and non-optimal default settings reappearing. The new hardware, such as terminals and printers, doesn't work as well as the older ones, resulting in recurring problems that require constant fixing. The printers don't all print the same way, as if the template was rewritten for the new generation without considering the old one. Additionally, the Ingenico chip readers have been a disaster - they're slow, expensive, and not user-friendly. If a card is inserted before the transaction is fully entered, the system freezes. Customers are accustomed to inserting cards at any point, but Ingenico doesn't allow it. Moreover, there are inadequate user prompts on the customer side, and there are no corresponding prompts to guide my cashiers on what needs to be done. Another issue is that we were promised a system that generates reports but it is challenging to locate the available reports. It often seems like our vendor has to learn them themselves before sending them to us. Having a list of important reports or a comprehensive guide would be helpful. Lastly, we're facing constant replication problems, creating doubts about the accuracy of our numbers. These problems seem to arise almost on a weekly or even daily basis.

Training and implementation has been smooth. Response time to questions is fantastic.
Pros

Everything about this system feels logical! The color coding in the point of sale is helpful and the software can be adapted to suit my specific needs. As a small business where I handle both IT and my regular job, setting up the hardware was also a simple task and the entire Rapid team is always available to assist with any questions.

Cons

Learning the software requires a significant amount of information, but I wouldn't consider it a drawback. It simply requires dedicated attention to training and a commitment to understanding the processes.
