“One dashboard for everything”

Pros

Having quoting, job tracking and invoicing all in one system has made a real difference. In a custom sign shop where every project is unique, keeping everything organized in a single place helps the work stay on track and cuts down on confusion. It's been a major step up from the other tools I've used before.

Cons

As with any software it took me some time to get everything fully set up and to learn how to use it well. Even now I'm still fine tuning workflows and exploring more of the features to improve communication and delegation across the shop.

“offers reliable core functions”

Pros

The features that stand out most in shopVOX are quote management, invoicing and the customer support. Those parts have been especially useful and reliable.

Cons

I did not like the email feature at all. A lot of the time when I send emails to customers through the system, they end up getting marked as spam.

“powerful workflow tracking”

Pros

Their eCommerce tools and proofing system have been a big plus for us. I also appreciate being able to track workflows across departments and it's especially convenient that eCommerce orders can be turned directly into sales orders.

Cons

The eCommerce side still has a few limitations. I'd love the option for web stores to accept orders without requiring payment upfront since we usually add charges later for artwork, shipping and installation. It would also help if customers could split quantities across multiple shipping locations. Right now I have to create a custom field listing all locations and then ask customers to enter the quantity for each store in the notes section. A grid-style option would probably work much better. We also use OrderMyGear for web stores and having the two systems integrate directly would be really helpful but at the moment that requires building an API connection.

“Solid and easy to learn”

Pros

Even our most complicated orders feel much more simplified with ShopVOX for both our team and our clients. It's a really solid tool that's simple to understand without a steep learning curve.

Cons

It does not handle user mistakes very well. Reversing actions or applying discounts can be harder than it should be. I'd also really like a section where our company could store examples of completed jobs and send them directly to clients through the system instead of needing separate folders.

“gets better with each update”

Pros

After about nine years of using Shopvox it has become a core part of how we run our business and something we depend on every day. Their customer support is honestly better than what we experienced with other companies in the past and the platform's features and upgrades continue to improve over time. Whether you're running a small, mid-sized or large print shop, I'd absolutely recommend Shopvox because it can grow right along with your business at any stage. #Shopvox

Cons

Back when we first got started, customer service wasn't at the level it is now but over the years they've really raised the bar and done a much better job staying on top of the product. One thing I still wish it had is an open API so I could connect it with our AI business software and handle sending and receiving invoices and estimates through those integrations.

“powerhouse for print shops”

Pros

Running a wholesale print shop, I needed software that could keep up with every type of project we handle. I tested several different programs and none of them really worked for the wide-format printing side of our business. shopVOX made a strong first impression with its look and feel but once we actually started using it it became obvious pretty fast that it was much more than good-looking software. It's an absolute powerhouse. It's been excellent for helping my sales team and production crew work together without friction. The jump from quote to sales order to invoice is quick and flawless and the integration between shopVOX and QBO is smooth. I also appreciate that they don't force you into a contract like some of the other systems we looked at. My guess is they don't need to because they know they built it right.

Cons

My biggest complaint is that I didn't come across it sooner!

“quick quote generation and proofing”

Pros

Putting together quotes is quick and communicating with customers is very convenient. Sending proofs out for approval is also a really helpful part of the workflow.

Cons

We wanted to be able to track jobs across multiple days in a calendar view. They recently released a new version that might solve this for us but we haven't had a chance to dig into it and test it yet.

“steep hidden fees”

Pros

Nothing good to say.

Cons

That low upfront price is misleading. Once you add mandatory extras like API access, extra users and ecommerce features the cost balloons fast. Support is pricey and unhelpful and they hike rates steeply over time. The software itself is rough. Documentation is insufficient, new features ship with bugs and I can't customize much. Worse, getting my own data out feels like pulling teeth with how rude staff can be. Even basic things like 2 factor authentication are a headache to set up.

“feature-rich platform”

Pros

Our clothing and signage printing business gets a lot out of this platform because it comes with so many useful tools. It helps us through the whole process, from creating quotes all the way to sending invoices.

Cons

Because there are so many features the system can feel overwhelming at first. Getting everything set up takes some time and effort although the ShopVox reps have been available and very helpful throughout the setup process.

“Smooth tracking from quotes to job completion”

“great for managing rates”

Pros

It fits what we need for handling pricing across multiple locations. The system is highly flexible when it comes to configuration and it includes a lot of built-in tools that are genuinely useful for running our business.

Cons

Occassionally new features show up without any advance notice. Most of the time those updates end up being improvements but having some warning before they go live would make it easier to prepare.

“Real-time pricing and quote-approval features stand out”

Pros

After comparing just about every sign-industry software out there this one still feels like the most complete package overall. A lot of the other platforms offer solid features too but they each seem to miss at least one capability in shopVOX that we really rely on. Being able to combine jobs in a flexible way makes a big difference and the online proofs and quote approval tools are incredibly useful. On top of that the option to handle complex pricing in real time with custom formulas saves a lot of effort and helps us work much more efficiently.

Cons

Rescheduling individual steps is difficult because job dates are tightly linked though workarounds exist. Setting up the PRO version at the beginning also takes a lot of time and can be fairly complex but once all the pricing formulas are in place, the long-term time savings absolutely make it worthwhile. Feature releases also felt a little slow while the team was focused on the new UI but ever since that rollout finished there have been plenty of functional updates that have steadily improved everyday usability.

“works well company-wide”

Pros

The platform stood out to me for being user-friendly while also covering so many different parts of our business. It handles a wide range of areas within our company which has made it very valuable for our team.

Cons

There was definitely a learning curve at first. Setup took some getting used to but once we got familiar with it we ended up feeling very confident using it.

“total visibility from quote to delivery”

Pros

From customer quotes and proofs to every stage of production this system helps us keep track of virtually every part of the shop's performance. Support has also been outstanding. We can usually get in touch with a representative directly within 2 to 3 minutes which makes a big difference when something needs attention right away.

Cons

We'd like a bit more flexibility when it comes to customizing certain reports. Another thing. Although the help desk is very quick to respond it would be even better if they could join virtually and walk us through any support or technical issues in real time.

“Easy custom product creation”

Pros

Moving from a paper-order system and QuickBooks-only workflow to shopVOX made a huge difference for our business. Before this, we were wasting hours every day just tracking down orders, re-entering information into QuickBooks, pricing jobs and handling all the little manual steps in between. Since switching to shopVOX, our workload has been cut nearly in half. We picked it over other options like InkSoft and DecoNetwork because it gave us the ability to build custom products fast and create customer accounts right when we needed them, instead of being focused mainly on webstores like the others seemed to be. Another big plus is the support. shopVOX offers free meetings and on-demand help whenever it's needed which stood out right away. A lot of the other software we looked at or used before wanted to charge for account setup or even basic support questions which honestly never made much sense to me. On top of that, their software engineers have been very accommodating. They're open to hearing feature requests and are genuinely willing to work with you on improvements that help your business. A lot of the time when I reach out with an idea that would benefit our company, they actually make it happen.

Cons

About 90% of shopVOX has been excellent for us. Every now and then there's a bug but in most cases it gets resolved pretty quickly. One smaller issue we've run into is that support can occasionally have a hard time understanding exactly what we're trying to explain. Because of that, sending screenshots or screen recordings tends to work much better. Even with that, it's hard to be too critical when you compare it to other platforms like DecoNetwork, where support meetings or help are often billed by the hour. shopVOX provides all of that at no extra cost which definitely makes those occasional communication hiccups easier to overlook.

“Central hub for custom manufacturing”

Pros

Having one system to handle our entire custom production process has been a huge plus. Everything from quoting and pricing to invoicing and production management is connected in one place which keeps the workflow organized and much easier to manage.

Cons

I'd love to see them build out the API more so we could automate a lot more of the integration with our production systems.

“ideal software for sign fabrication shops”

Pros

shopVOX feels specifically built for the sign company I work at which makes it a really strong fit for our day-to-day needs.

Cons

Honestly there's not much I dislike about shopVOX. The only thing I'd want changed is having to log in so often.

“top-notch assistance”

Pros

Very user friendly system. The support team has also been excellent and always responds quickly whenever help is needed.

Cons

It was definitely a bit of a hassle to get all our information entered but it ended up helping us become more organized. That really wasn't an issue with the software itself.
