It's easy to grasp and user-friendly. Clients trust the brand and feel secure and confident when making mobile payments. It instantly establishes credibility with the consumer.

Square doesn't function on Android platforms for the Free or Retail Plus versions, but it does work on the Square POS version. The only thing is, if you don't have the physical card, there seems to be a higher transaction fee rate.

Pros

This appears to be the ideal program for small businesses. The program offers an impressively low credit card fee of 2.6%, as far as I've observed. It also supports successful scanning of SKU and GTIN codes. With unlimited items in the inventory, it's convenient for both the user and the customer, especially when next-day transfers are possible.

Cons

There is a free version, but I believe it's definitely worth paying for especially if you have multiple locations.

Processing payments and receiving payouts at the end of the day makes retail a hassle free task.

Honestly, the only thing I wish were different is that we didn't have to use Retail and could solely rely on Restaurants for our online ordering. However, Retail works better for it, and it functions well, so it's not a major issue.

We specifically use Square for Restaurants POS system for our taproom operations, and it seamlessly integrates with our mobile payments. However, we also rely on Square for Retail as the foundation for our online ordering page through Wix, as it's the most suitable option for hosting that site. It works flawlessly, allowing us to track inventory, orders, and more. It does exactly what we need it to do!

There really aren't any cons. None at all. I have nothing negative to say about Square for Retail.

As a customer, it's fairly easy for me to make quick purchases from small businesses that I prefer to support. If this option didn't exist, I wouldn't be able to make purchases when I choose not to carry cash, which is almost 100% of the time.

I am happy that there was a free plan option available. I don't have a huge business, but having access to a more robust feature set, which I believe Square for Retail offers beyond the traditional Square app, is great.

I have to stick with my opinion. For my small business, the Retail version didn't offer any unique features compared to the traditional Square App. In my opinion, Square for Retail was a bit more complicated, whereas the traditional Square POS app suited my style better with its direct approach.

“Terrible Customer Service

Adding products and checking out is simple enough.

Cons

After using Square POS for a few years, we switched to Shopify because we had an online store and needed to consolidate our systems. We continued paying for Square for a year, even though we no longer used it for anything other than accessing old orders. When our office manager canceled the paid account, Square restricted our access entirely. Our office manager spent several hours and eventually regained access. We were not informed that all other user accounts would be closed, and the only way to access old records would be through the owner's email account. I called Square to inquire about being locked out of my account, and the customer service representative was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and sarcastic. I am glad we no longer use Square solely based on the customer service. Additionally, the processing fees increased significantly for us when we started offering one CBD product (THC-free) out of several hundred products in our store.

The cost and setup were both affordable and easy, and transactions were never an issue regardless of the device or credit card used. The processing fees were very reasonable for our needs. Implementing the reporting features into our CMS tools was also a hassle free task.

Absolutely nothing! We couldn't find any issues even if we wanted to. The hardware and software worked flawlessly.
