Toast POS Features
Inventory Management
Toast POS software lets teams track items at stock-keeping unit (SKU) level and update quantities after a product is sold or returned. It allows retailers to add products, update pricing changes, run cycle counts, and transfer stock between locations using the SmartScan tool. Additionally, the system lets managers set Periodic Automatic Replacement (PAR) levels and low-stock alerts to allow store teams to make renewal decisions throughout multiple locations.
Email Marketing
Toast POS features email marketing tools that use customer data and order details to send customizable email campaigns. It allows retailers to create customer groups based on several factors, such as similar behaviors, proximity, or age groups, and send promotional emails to each target group. The platform also automates campaigns and sends welcome messages to new customers or engages with shoppers who have not returned to the store.
Online Ordering
This functionality provides retailers with a direct channel for customers to place pickup or delivery orders. These orders can be connected to the store’s system, while customer and purchase information is stored within the platform itself. The software also allows retailers to use Google Search and Maps to fetch customers looking for nearby products or restaurants.
Loyalty
The system lets retailers create points-based programs for each purchase or store visit. Businesses can set the value of points and choose rewards according to their pricing strategy. The software allows customers to join at checkout via digital receipts or scan QR codes when ordering online to record the points automatically after qualifying purchases. Additionally, Toast POS lets retailers offer birthday rewards or time-based bonuses and monitor program performance to see which incentives result in repeated purchases.
Catering And Events
The platform helps businesses manage large orders from the initial inquiry through payment. It lets staff collect customer details, create quotes and contracts, then track tasks as an event moves toward fulfillment. It also supports printable prep lists and packing sheets for teams preparing larger orders. Additionally, Toast POS allows businesses to send online invoices for payment purposes.
