Fantastic platform for client tracking

Pros

Even with all the features it includes, it's still very simple to navigate. It works really well as an everyday CRM for keeping client notes and storing important customer information.

Cons

One thing I really don't care for is the new version's interface. The calendar feels less organized than it was in Classic and the document storage setup isn't very practical for managing client files since you can't sort or filter across multiple documents or folders.

Organized workflow time-saver

Pros

As someone who manages a lot at once, this has been an excellent tool for staying organized and keeping priorities in order. It helps me track exactly where each task stands in the process and the platform is very user-friendly while still being flexible enough to customize around the way I work. The cloning feature for creating requisitions has been especially valuable. I have items that need to be repeated every fiscal year and being able to clone a previous PR I already built saves me a huge amount of time and effort.

Cons

My only real frustration is that the reporting feature could be more simple. When I pull data out of the platform, it does not always carry over cleanly into a spreadsheet so I end up spending a lot of extra time reorganizing and reformatting everything myself.

Task reminders and useful integrations

Pros

Honestly, I can't imagine how I managed before using this. The software is incredible. The task reminders are fantastic, the interface is really well done and I use the worklist creation features all the time. I also appreciate being able to leave notes while logging activities and the integration with other systems I use is a huge plus. It really makes day-to-day work much easier.

Cons

One thing that really bothers me is the way notifications work. There's no snooze option and sometimes I just want to dismiss a reminder for 30 minutes and have it come back later. Right now, that's not possible. Instead, you have to clear out all your tasks or the notifications keep sitting in the upper-right corner of the screen for as long as you leave them there. A snooze feature for notifications would make a big difference.

Helpful training

Pros

One thing I really appreciated was how well the different records and functions connect within the program. It does take a little time to learn at first but it feels fairly simple and once you get the hang of it, it becomes very simple to use. The call script mode was especially helpful in the beginning because it gave useful talking points and ideas for what to say when I was just starting out. The training sessions were probably the most valuable part and the people leading them were excellent about answering every question thoroughly.

Cons

A frustrating part of using it is the number of snags that come up when entering contact and interview information. The system will not let you save your progress unless every snag has been fixed which can take a lot of time. That means scrolling through the full call script, tracking each issue down one at a time, selecting an option and then continuing to scroll to repeat the process. It becomes especially inconvenient when trying to enter information on the spot while still on the phone with a client. The process would feel much more convenient and practical if there were some way to save first and deal with the snags afterward. Because of that, I usually end up writing everything on paper and coming back later to enter it into the program.

CRM that improves client management

Pros

Ever since CRM became a central part of handling clients, this one has really stood out by offering some of the strongest features for managing the full journey from lead generation all the way to client conversion.

Cons

Being able to organize leads, set custom priorities for each one, define customer relationships and choose how we want to engage has been the most valuable feature for us.

Campaign management tools

Pros

At our company, this is the system we rely on for building and managing email campaigns and our advisors also use it to monitor their client relationships and communication history. It lets us handle the full campaign process in one place, including updating client lists, merging lists, scheduling send times and reviewing campaign analytics afterward.

Cons

One thing that can be frustrating is that the platform takes time to learn so it's not something you can just open and start using right away. There's definitely a CRM learning curve before you can work with it confidently. It's also split into two sides, Salesforce which is mainly geared toward sales teams and Marketing Cloud which is mostly for marketing users. If your role involves working in both areas, constantly moving between them during a campaign can get tiring and requires a lot of attention to detail.

Reliable daily business management

Pros

Right out of the box, this software is very user-friendly and has the tools needed to handle just about every part of a business. I work with it every day and whenever I need assistance, the documentation and getting-started guides make support easy to find and follow.

Cons

From time to time, updates make certain features or processes obsolete and the notices about those changes have sometimes been unclear. Occasionally something even stops working completely because of an official IT release.

Limitless customization options

Pros

It can be shaped into just about anything you need. There's a ton of flexibility and nearly every part of it can be customized however you want.

Cons

At the beginning, it can feel a little overwhelming simply because there's so much to it. That said, Trailblazer does a great job of guiding you and helping you learn whatever area you need.

Pros

Honestly, I'm not sure where we'd be without it.

User-friendly after years of use

Pros

After nearly four years of working on SFDC, I still really enjoy using it. It's a very user-friendly tool and feels comfortable to work with on a daily basis.

Cons

At times, the screen flickers while I'm using the software which can be a bit distracting.

CRM features and reporting

Pros

Right away, the lead management and opportunity management features stood out especially because so much works out of the box. Using the standard point-and-click tools, most of the CRM system design can be completed without much trouble. The reporting capabilities are excellent as well.

Cons

One limitation is the multitenant platform restrictions that come with Apex development and there also aren't any built-in continuous integration or deployment tools available out of the box.

Quick training and simple workflow

Pros

Using this software has been really easy. In sales, we are always pushing to hit new targets so it helps a lot when someone can be trained quickly and get up to speed without much hassle.

Cons

Every now and then, a few glitches pop up but we have still been able to work through them each time.

Helpful across multiple CRMs

Pros

Managing different CRM streams has been really effective with this especially for a company handling several brands across multiple channels. It's made it much easier to keep track of customer interactions and it also works well as a communication tool across social media platforms.

Cons

Once you've had training on how the system is configured for your company, it's fairly easy to use.

Outlook sync and faster reporting

Pros

Having it connect directly to our Outlook account has been a big plus especially for attaching emails to customer records. It's still very new to me but I'm relieved that I won't need to keep creating separate Outlook folders for every single customer anymore. Now I can save emails straight to their account and anyone with access can quickly see where communication last left off. Another thing that helps a lot is being able to update one field and have that change carry over everywhere else it needs to. Before this, we were managing several spreadsheets and had to update each one manually every time something changed. Pulling reports is also really convenient and only takes a click or two.

Cons

At this point, it still feels pretty overwhelming because there is so much on the screen at once. A lot of it comes down to learning the new setup and figuring out where to find the information I need. I'm also still unsure whether this is a positive or a negative since we haven't reached that stage as a company yet but we'd like to integrate inventory and barcode scanning with the program if possible. I'm not even certain those features are available. We'd also want to connect it with the Google Sheet we currently use for production but again, I don't know what the system is capable of there yet so I can't really call that a pro or con at this stage.

Customer tracking with billing issues

Pros

Keeping customer data and communication organized with this software is essential for our business. Everyone on the team can view the interactions happening with each customer and it also lets us build specific reports when we need them.

Cons

Billing support has been really frustrating to deal with. During the pandemic, when we had to cut back our staff, they still pushed us to keep the same number of licenses.

All history in one place

Pros

Having a full record of a person or business in one place is a huge advantage. It keeps the history, interactions, documents and other key details together so it's simple to pull up past phone calls, conversations or important files and keep our internal management more organized. It also helps eliminate confusion. If I'm meeting with someone about a complaint and they've already spoken with a coworker, I can quickly check my coworker's notes and address the issue right away.

Cons

The software layout could definitely use some work. There are a lot of menus and submenus to click through before you can complete certain tasks.

Pros

One of the best parts is how customizable it is. You can modify pretty much any field on any page which makes it very flexible for different needs.

Sales operations powerhouse

Pros

It's a core part of our daily workflow and gives us what we need to log customer interactions, monitor deals, handle cases and run the reporting that supports our sales strategy.

Cons

Right now, we're moving from the Classic version to new version and like most changes, getting users comfortable with the new platform has been a challenge. It would be nice if that kind of transition could be made more engaging, maybe through some form of gamification. I'm not sure whether that's something decided internally or if Salesforce could help with it.

Branded email templates that deliver

Pros

One thing that really works well in Chatter is the branded email templates. They make it simple to send common emails to multiple people at once and they also display properly on mobile devices.

Cons

Everything feels well placed and useful and it really depends on how you use it. I haven't come across any feature that seems less useful.
