Reporting backbone

Pros

Reports and dashboards are essential to the way our company makes data-backed decisions. We depend on this platform for almost every part of the business.

Cons

Since it sometimes feels like it's trying to cover every possible need, it comes with a lot of complexity and you really need a dedicated CRM professional to get the most out of it.

Reliable enterprise standard

Pros

One of the biggest strengths of this software is how dependable it is and the customer support team is consistently quick to respond when needed. Because so many companies use it, it has almost become a standard across enterprises which makes communication and transitions between organizations much easier since people are often already familiar with it. It stays well organized and I have rarely run into errors or major issues. The company behind it also provides a lot of helpful support. On top of that, it connects well with many other software platforms and the wide range of features means it can fit the needs of many different kinds of businesses.

Cons

The downside is that it is not very user friendly at first. It takes training and a good amount of hands-on use before it starts to feel natural. That said, once you learn how it works, the amount of data, tracking and available options makes it worthwhile in my opinion. It is also expensive so it may not be the right choice for smaller companies or brand-new businesses.

Custom tools for nonprofits

Pros

Two things really make SF stand out to me. First, I appreciate how committed they are to the not-for-profit sector. Second, the platform can be customized in just about unlimited ways which gives organizations a lot of flexibility.

Cons

That same level of customization is also where the challenge comes in. It takes a pretty significant investment of time and resources to get the platform set up in a way that truly works for your organization. On the positive side, there are plenty of companies, tutorials and other resources available that help make it more manageable for the average organization.

Highly customizable CRM

Pros

Compared with other CRM platforms, this one can be tailored really well to fit your needs. It handled client relationships, interactions and even day-to-day task tracking quite effectively for us. To get the most out of it, it really helps to be clear from the beginning about what you want the system to do and how your team will use it across the agency. We also had an outside company design the interface and that made it much more user-friendly for everyone in the office.

Cons

Task management is where it falls a bit short. It mostly just auto-sorts everything by date so it doesn't feel especially strong in that area. There are integrations with tools like Trello which helps but it still isn't really a true all-in-one solution.

Scales well with big data

Pros

Using it has been very easy, it scales without much effort and it handles large datasets really well.

Cons

Reporting side can be a bit complicated and the interface for that feature could use some improvement. For example, when a report fails, there should be a clear indicator showing exactly where it failed so the issue can be resolved faster.

Reporting and contact tracking

Pros

Keeping a large contact database organized is where this software really shines. It does an excellent job of tracking events, donations and relationships and the reporting tools are advanced enough that I was always able to pull exactly what I needed. On top of that, the interface feels simple and didn't take long to learn.

Cons

It doesn't feel like quite the right fit for nonprofits. A lot of the terminology is still centered around sales and can't really be adjusted to better match fundraising which is what you would hope for. Several of the tools also don't translate well in a nonprofit setting and there are entire groups of features we never used and honestly would have preferred to remove.

Appointment tracking that delivers

Pros

Booking appointments is really easy. I'm one of several people using it in our company and it helps me keep up with all my tasks and client meetings, stay in touch with the office and monitor asset usage along with maintenance records.

Cons

It definitely took some time before I felt fully confident using all of the workflows but in the end it was absolutely worth the effort.

Outdated UI and poor navigation

Pros

One thing it has going for it is that it connects with just about everything. That's really the only reason I'd consider using it. Beyond that, the interface feels ancient and charging extra for the supposedly modern UI is hard to justify when it should really be included to encourage customers to move over.

Cons

Getting around in it feels unnecessarily complicated and the reporting and analytics are very weak. Our sales reps dread having to work in it and only open it when there's no other choice.

Versatile platform with lots to offer

Pros

There's a lot this platform can handle once you get the hang of it. It's fairly easy to learn at first even though some parts feel a bit awkward. It works well as a CRM, HRIS and sales management system but getting the most out of it definitely takes time and some effort to tailor it to your needs.

Cons

Some areas feel awkward and performance can be slow at times. It also tends to require help from an outside IT provider or an internal expert when extra issues come up and those problems seem to happen pretty regularly.

Clean sales tracking dashboard

Pros

One thing that's been really useful is how clearly it shows who made which sales so we can keep an eye on operational productivity. It also gives us a better way to assess employees and figure out how to support them in hitting their sales targets. On top of that, the system is very simple to navigate and the layout feels clean and organized.

Cons

Only real downside is having to change the password when required because it can interrupt work and take away production time since not everyone remembers it right away. Still, that's more of an inconvenience than a true flaw and aside from that, it handles what we need very well.

simple CRM upgrade

Pros

After more than two years of using it at my company especially after coming from Microsoft CRM, this has felt like a massive step up. It's easily one of the best data management systems I've worked with. The platform is simple, user-friendly and fits into our workflow really well. We rely on the Opportunities tab to keep track of won and lost leads and the ability to customize views and reports to match our business needs has been incredibly useful. We also use it for email campaigns and building templates in the system is really easy.

Cons

Interface and overall formatting could look a little cleaner and I'd still like to see more customization options.

Customization and reliability

Pros

This is highly customizable, enterprise-grade software backed by strong reliability, high availability and security. It also offers an excellent range of plugins and useful insights, all presented in a easy interface with outstanding customization options.

Cons

Move to the new version came as a surprise for quite a few users especially those who still prefer accessing certain areas through the legacy interface. It's a step in the right direction but better parity between the old and new interfaces would have made the migration feel less disruptive for some people.

Outdated and cluttered CRM

Pros

There's an enormous number of features packed into it, honestly, more than most teams would ever end up using. Whether that's actually a benefit is debatable.

Cons

Our experience with this CRM was really bad. We originally used itIQ CRM and that version was well designed, fairly minimal in terms of features and matched our needs quite well. Then it was discontinued because of the new EU privacy regulations so we were forced to move to it Cloud. That switch was awful. The design felt very outdated and it honestly seemed like no one had paid attention to UX. The dashboard and nearly every page were crammed with so many features that it was overwhelming and it wasn't clear where to focus or what to do first. On top of that, the account we created came with demo data which is understandable for showing new users what the system can do. The problem was that there was no way to remove all of it in one go, not even support could do it. So we had to click through page after page deleting huge amounts of demo data manually. Really not good. And to make matters worse, the migration from itIQ to Cloud was handled poorly and a lot of our data ended up getting messed up.

Live account visibility

Pros

Being able to monitor the progress of every lead across my accounts has been really valuable and creating sales reports to share with my team is quick and easy. It saves me a lot of time and my managers can also see a live view of the status of all my accounts whenever they need to.

Cons

I understand this comes from a security policy but I still dislike having to reset my password regularly. My password is already very strong so I feel I shouldn't have to change it unless there's actually been some kind of compromise with my account.

powerful and customizable

Pros

Built to handle demanding, high-powered processes without much trouble. It's also very flexible so you can tailor it to match your specific needs. Another strong point is the detailed security permissions which make it possible to control exactly which staff members can view certain objects, fields and other data.

Cons

There can be quite a few hidden expenses, including extra licenses, additional software or apps, consulting and development work. It's not always very user-friendly right out of the box either and sometimes it takes a lot of effort to configure it the way you need. On top of that, data health can quickly become messy if you're not staying careful and consistent with it.

Flexible integrations and reporting

Pros

This product has been working quite well for us. It gives you a good amount of customization, connects with other platforms like Zendesk, includes reporting and we haven't run into any problems with data being saved.

Cons

Downside is that it isn't very simple. You pretty much need training to really understand how everything works. Updating and saving details also takes too many steps, rather than clicking directly into a field and saving, you have to hit Edit, make the change and then click Save. The interface also feels a bit outdated and not very modern.

Sales cycle visibility

Pros

It's a very effective tool for managing the entire sales cycle, from the first lead all the way through to closing the deal. It also does an excellent job of helping track team performance and the dashboard gives a really useful overall view of how the team is doing.

Cons

At times, it asks for a level of detail that the sales manager doesn't yet have available.

Versatile multi-site setup

Pros

One of the biggest advantages is being able to use a single instance across multiple sites and different record types.

Cons

Newer version still feels frustrating compared to the old Classic version. It's hard to understand why the change happened without carrying over all the features and getting help through customer service can be challenging.

Flexible and highly customizable

Pros

After getting comfortable with the platform, using it became very easy. It's incredibly customizable and our company has really taken advantage of that to build an environment that fits the way we work best.

Cons

That same level of customization can be confusing if you're not already familiar with the IT ecosystem. At times, having so many options can feel like too much of a good thing.
