We found the concept behind it appealing but the system we ended up with was not what we were promised.

Cons

The software simply doesn't function properly and the trainers seem unfamiliar with the product. They aren't able to answer basic questions and there's also a significant delay between dispatching loads and drivers actually receiving them on their phones.

Their mobile app was at least somewhat usable for drivers and being able to scan documents straight into the load was one of the few parts that seemed to function.

PCS Software was sold to us in a way that did not match what we actually received. The system is not user-friendly and we constantly have to create workarounds which only adds more work. It also has never integrated with Omnitracs the way we were promised and we still get daily emails showing that it does not work as presented. Moving loads between the brokerage and trucking sides through load sharing takes far too much effort and the brokerage side cannot make money correctly unless we manually adjust the amounts afterward which is yet another workaround. On top of that, every location has to be mapped manually when sharing a load which wastes time and makes the whole process slower. Performance gets even worse when a load has more stops. Support has been extremely disappointing as well. After I pushed for someone to contact us and explain why we should stay with the software, communication basically stopped which gives the impression that they do not care about their customers. The driver application was also misrepresented and is not really an application in the way it was described to us. They knew we were supposed to be live, knew the system was not up and running without errors and still failed to follow up. To make matters worse, PCS Software locked us out of our account without any discussion or warning which is a very bad way to handle customers.

The layout is very clear so getting around the system and using it always feels effortless to me.

Cons

So far I haven't run into anything about the product that I dislike.

In my experience the system has been user-friendly, simple to navigate and not at all complicated to work with.

It doesn't include HOS features and planning would be much more convenient if ELDs were integrated with it.

This is simple software given how easy it is to navigate. Plus it lets us handle all of our trucking tasks in one place instead of relying on multiple tools.

This system is really user friendly. It's just as simple to teach my staff and show them how everything works.

Every now and then it can run a bit slow but it doesn't happen very often.

The accounting reports are clear, easy to follow and make it simple for us to compare results with previous periods.

There are a few minor issues with the fuel upload feature but they are not anything too serious.

What I like best are the accounting tools and operational data tracking since they're really solid and have been very useful in my day-to-day work.

It's missing is a fully integrated maintenance program.

PCS really does a fantastic job connecting the different departments and that integration helps us get the best overall results.

It does have the occasional glitch, like most software out there. That said, the support team does such a good job that it makes those issues much easier to deal with.

Their integrations were implemented successfully and their team was really pleasant for us to work with throughout the process.

The pricing has gone up although that increase now includes extra changes we need that we used to pay for separately in the past.

Something I really appreciate about it is that it gives you room to correct mistakes which matters because we are human and errors happen. With a lot of other software, changing something after it's been entered turns into a bunch of extra work but PCS doesn't make it difficult. The check cutting, billing and scanning features are also simple to use and fit well into the workflow.

Pricing went up a while ago and it now costs a lot more than it used to.

Dispatch management performs just as well as any TMS we looked at while shopping around. Their support team is helpful and usually offers workaround processes when the software falls short. Uptime has been 100% from what we've seen.

This really isn't a good fit for a smaller company. We wanted a true all-in-one system for accounting, payroll, fleet tracking, driver administration and fleet maintenance but it misses the mark in several areas. Payroll feels difficult to use and extremely inflexible. The promised Keep Trucking/Motive integration is very inconsistent which makes the fleet tracking piece basically unusable. Website API connections also tend to break over time. The time-off tracking module is a mess. It honestly feels like the development team has never worked with a trucking company operating fewer than 1,000 trucks. Their focus seems to be on rolling out new features instead of fixing the obvious problems in the tools already there. PCS promotes a lot of capabilities that would make it an excellent TMS if they actually worked the way they should.

Figuring out how to apply and delete payment options gave me a hard time.

Express brings everything together in one platform, covering the whole workflow from dispatch all the way through invoicing.

Cons

API integrations with outside providers can be inconsistent. We couldn't deliver real-time GPS updates for some of our larger brokers so we've had to depend entirely on our ELD platform for that.

The reporting feature is a really powerful tool and if you know SQL, you can customize the reports to match your exact requirements.

Cons

Setting up fuel is quite difficult. I had to rely on tech support to get it done.

Once you get familiar with how PCS works, it becomes very simple to use and that's the part I appreciate most about the software.

Honestly everything about this software has been excellent and exactly what I was hoping for.
