Having everything housed in one system was definitely helpful and it also gave us the option to add extra features when needed.

At the same time, the platform felt pretty dated and wasn't very user-friendly. We also needed more flexibility especially when it came to editing and updating information.

Handling accounts payable and receivable is very simple for me. The general ledger and bank reconciliation features work really well too. Moreover it also does a solid job with tax-related tasks, including 1099s, W-2 printing and filing tax forms electronically.

Cons

Vacation scheduling should be improved since it doesn't alert you when someone submits a vacation request. Also, payroll batches can't be re-dated so if the batch has the wrong date, you have to undo the whole thing and enter it again.

Our dispatch team has been happy with how the features fit their day-to-day work especially when it comes to assigning loads and keeping track of miles.

Cons

The accounting side feels a little limited compared with the software we used before. PCS is clearly geared more toward dispatch and getting access to more of the available functions would mean paying a higher monthly fee.

Accessing the tabs is very convenient and the layout makes it simple to move around the system.

There have been quite a few times when the software suddenly logs us out without any warning while we're in the middle of entering information.

From the moment a load starts all the way through invoicing, the system is very user friendly. Another thing I like is the fact that the PCS team regularly provides training and puts together gatherings where users can learn more about the product.

Cons

It doesn't really cater to tanker operations, gallons or pounds and seems more geared toward box trucks and flatbeds. Another limitation is that there's no way to track last contained.

What that really stands out to us is the customer service and support. The staff is friendly, helpful and pleasant to work with.

A downside is that it's not very easy to locate our loads by container number.

Having trucking dispatch integrated with accounting, safety and now Mobile Express is really convenient and useful to us.

Something missing is the ability to reconcile credit card statements the same way we can with a checking account or the way credit cards can be reconciled in QuickBooks.

Being able to pull rates instead of entering everything by hand saves a lot of my time. The customer service and development teams have also been awesome to work with.

It isn't very efficient for an intermodal drop-and-hook operation. On top of that some of the development needed to fit our requirements took longer than we were originally told.

It falls short by not offering trailer tracking and the windows become complicated when trying to work within zones.

The mileage is frequently inaccurate so I still have to calculate that part by hand. Dispatches are often out of sequence and there's no clear way to see which drivers and trucks haven't been assigned to loads.

The system is very user-friendly and the dispatch side works really well for our operation. One upgrade that would make it even better for car hauling freight is the ability to implement VINs.

At the moment, it can't track VINs. Since we use it for our car hauling company, we really need a way to scan and track VINs.

In the beginning, about 15 years ago, getting changes made was a struggle. I practically had to push hard for updates and they even wanted to charge me $8,000 for feature customizations that have since become standard.

Getting started with PCS TMS was a really positive experience because the setup process and training were handled very well. Whenever questions come up, the support team responds quickly and clearly knows the product inside and out. On top of that, the system is much more user-friendly than a lot of other programs available today.

Cons

A limitation for us is that a few of our customers need very specific details and information shown on invoices and rates. Right now, there isn't a setup option available that lets us configure exactly what we need.

The mobility in this TMS has been a real plus for us although some of the labeling and a few quirky parts of the system can be ineffective at times.

I think the flow and color capabilities could be better and some of the wording used for certain items also needs improvement.

It was pretty easy for me to learn the ropes and get familiar with this software. Also the customer service team is excellent whenever something needs clarification or if I run into a question.

I'm completely satisfied with it because it has met or even exceeded everything I needed. At this point, I really don't have any complaints.
