single truth source

Pros

Having used Jedox for several projects, I find report development really approachable if you're comfortable with Excel. The database is set up to serve as a single source of truth and it lets me drill through data easily. There are plenty of connectors so I have been able to pull data from everything I needed so far. The team and support are friendly. My colleagues can work from anywhere using either the web interface or Excel. It can be deployed in the cloud with the same behavior as on-prem. The rule engine is powerful and flexible. I can accomplish most planning tasks quickly although polishing reports remains an ongoing job.

Cons

The report interface often feels laggy and not as smooth as I'd like.Mobile support is there but I wish it were more tailored. Also performance can be slow at times and needs expert tuning. Managing reports is not very easy too and fixing rule errors often depends on the Excel plug-in.

Great excel-like working

Pros

Jedox is an adaptable platform that is easy to connect to multiple data sources. The excel integration is very easy to use and allows for fast access to a range of data sources.

Cons

Security can be complex and is not always intuitive, Can be very slow occasionally, sometimes the system suddenly crashes when working with very large amounts of data.

It delivers a powerful mix of advanced features while still being very easy to use.

Cons

For me it lacks a calculation condition needed for planning reports that use granular dimensions.

Tailored solutions for any need

Pros

I can do practically anything with it. the platform lets me create fully tailored solutions to meet any requirement.

Cons

While I appreciate the flexibility, there are so many different approaches to constructing a solution that I often need deep expertise. because of that it's difficult for me to predict how long feature development will take since unexpected complexities keep showing up.

5.0

Intuitive and efficient

Pros

The interface is intuitive. Projects can be implemented logically and quickly. The OLAP engine is fast and reliable. Full WEB integration enables productive work and effective administration from any location. The designer interface makes it possible to use existing basic knowledge almost everywhere.

Cons

The biggest weakness of Jedox is its documentation. They originally had an amazing and powerful documentation tool but the recent updates have made it very disappointing.

helpful excel integration

Pros

I really like how easy the Excel integration is to use. it gives me fast access to a wide variety of data sources. Jedox, in my experience, is a flexible platform that connects smoothly to multiple different sources which makes pulling together reports much simpler.

Cons

Security can be complicated and isn't always user friendly. in my experience configuring it can be confusing and I also run into occasional slowdowns or crashes when handling very large volumes of data.

Excel pivots, molap power

Pros

As someone who loves working with pivot tables in Excel, I sometimes hit Excel's capacity limits. when that happens I can easily transfer my data into a MOLAP database and still carry on using Excel for my pivots and analysis.

Cons

I wish the Jedox app marketplace would let me filter listings by pricing model for example, Free versus Premium because right now there's no way to search or narrow results by price type.

Fast olap, work anywhere

Pros

The OLAP engine is fast and dependable. The interface is also user friendly and I can roll out projects in a logical, speedy way. Because the designer UI lets me apply familiar basic concepts almost everywhere and full web integration lets me work productively and administer effectively from any location.

Cons

My biggest frustration with Jedox is its documentation. It feels like the product's origins have been overlooked and the thorough original docs were swapped out for an awkward knowledge base. In the rush to grow, they've let the crucial practices of learning and sharing knowledge slip away which is unfortunate.

All-in-one and connects to SAP

Pros

Well it is a true all in one solution. As I can connect directly to SAP including BW and HANA and the design feels very Excel-like. I also find it easy to build even fairly complex planning scenarios.

Cons

What bothers me is that they no longer offer a concurrent license model which limits flexible user access. Also the preset screen templates feel weak and not flexible as I wish there was more of a modular, construction-kit approach for building screens.

Customize every aspect

Pros

Besides the packaged models, what I really liked was that the application lets me customize, build or modify every single aspect so it matches the exact workflow I need. The features are also easy to pick up and yet I found they offer impressive power in terms of what can be accomplished.

Cons

If I am not careful, I can unknowingly generate a huge volume of data by splashing a '0' at a high level and at first I didn't realize how much it could produce.

agile approach

Pros

It is pretty easy to use and to manage components. Building ETL processes and cubes happens quickly and putting together regular reports is pretty easy. In my experience there are usually multiple ways to achieve the same outcome and the platform supports a flexible, agile approach.

Cons

The interface feels a bit dated to me and it lacks several features you'd expect from an Excel-like layout as things like dashed borders, adjustable bar widths and support for multiple axes aren't available.

Pros

One thing I appreciate is that it uses MS Excel at the front end which makes it easy for me to handle.

Cons

When reports aren't designed well by our team, I notice they require a little extra time to present.

Pros

There is virtually no limit as the platform allows me to create fully tailored solutions for any need.

Excellent product

Pros

We love the softwares evaluations for the field service as they can be retrieved instantly without much loading time. The forecast creations save us a lot of time.

Cons

The software demonstration was that the product can be used within 10 days. This is not possible. Unfortunately, there are occasionally loading errors that can only be solved with the help of support.

cloud matches on-prem

Pros

I like that it's an in-memory platform with built-in ETL integration and the web client feels a lot like Excel. It also hooks into Microsoft Excel via an add-in, sets up and gets implemented quickly on-premises and there's no functional difference between the on-premise and cloud versions.

Cons

What bothers me is that it seems to lack a built-in approach for carrying out complex batch calculations during run-time which feels like a gap.

Pros

I really like the web interface and the ETL workflow. the system is also quite flexible and consistently reliable in our day-to-day use.

Cons

The ETL workflow is pretty basic and it integrates well with both Qlik and Excel.

We implemented several features using the built-in macro editor but having a proper debugger would really help us speed up development significantly.

Pros

Its relatively easy to use, well developed, well-maintained and supported product which has a few unique features and combines several functions useful for Accounting, Controlling, Planning, Reporting, and Management if integrated properly.

Cons

There arent many issues with the system aside from a few bugs sometimes and the slow speed when aggregating and working with huge amounts of data.

Pros

One of the things I really like is the flexibility. We're currently building our modules and, even though they're quite complex, I haven't encountered anything that hasn't been possible to achieve at this point.

Cons

I haven't come across anything that I dislike at this point in time.

way too customizable

Pros

It is a complete package that covers everything such as ETL tools, OLAP engine, reporting, scheduling and more. Also it is easy to learn, very flexible and endlessly customizable. I also use it inside Excel, like the fast calculations and appreciate the powerful web reporting with dashboards and many chart types plus a strong SDK.

Cons

One downside I ran into is that the workflow isn't a preinstalled component. I had to set it up and configure it which required semi-automatic building.
