Microsoft friendly Integrated EPM and Strategic Planning tools with Single Source of Truth

Pros

With Jedox, my enterprise can integrate strategic activities across finance, sales & operations, procurement, human resources, production, and other functional departments. This creates a single source of truth that provides better quality data, enabling decision-makers to make effective and informed strategic decisions at the right time based on accurate and consistent data. It also reduces the amount of time and cost during the processes. Meanwhile, it is quite intuitive as it is linked to the Microsoft platforms most users are familiar with, and the Jedox connector allows me to extract data from different source systems and visualize it with other 3rd party BI tools.

Cons

While Jedox offers various models through its marketplace, optimizing its capabilities requires customization and configuration by Jedox consultants before deployment. End-user commitment is crucial for gathering detailed information during the project.

EPM Jedox

Pros

While I find it quite simple to explore and understand the various functionalities, actually using them proves to be rather challenging and cumbersome.

Cons

The implementation process is not easy conducting the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process requires substantial labor and effort.

Easy dynamic reports generation

Pros

Generating dynamic reports is pretty easy and I also find it pretty simple to build and reproduce reports quickly.

Cons

Integrating it to our IT platform has always been difficult and we have had occasional connection problems. But I have been impressed by how fast and responsive it is when I work remotely from home.

Reports help make better decisions

Pros

We can access different reports about how we are doing which helps us understand the data and make better decisions.

Cons

There's not enough training available and it is fairly complex unless you're a confident Excel user so in practice we're only using the most basic layer of functionality it offers.

pricing changed unfairly

Pros

I am able to pull together multiple different data sources into a single warehouse.

Cons

Although we had signed up for a 100-year license, they later changed the pricing structure which felt unfair. The look and feel of the reports aren't as visually appealing as other tools. the layouts are quite static and there seems to be no momentum to make them better. I cannot self-serve to add new data sources and there's no easy path for me to learn Jedox-specific programming on my own. It's also inconsistent across browsers and, overall, a more costly program than many competing offerings.

provides clean Excel results

Pros

I really like how flexible and time saving it is as running a query takes less than a minute and I can easily adjust any setting if I missed something or changed my mind. Also I like using Jedox inside Excel because I don't have to reformat the results. The data already looks clean and professional with good colors and fonts so it's ready to share with stakeholders.

Cons

Sometimes I hit the usual limits of Excel. It also struggles with very large datasets which means it cannot handle massive amounts of data reliably.

very little training needed!

Pros

Using it, I find the interface really easy to use and it does not need a lot of training. Plus it's nicely integrated into Microsoft Excel for my workflows.

Cons

I would like the option to export data as a flat list where I can pick specific fields and set filters, then download a single flat data file instead of being forced to depend only on Paste View and Paste Elements to get the data out.

Pros

I love how well it connects with Excel. Also the integration happens without any problem and is really easy to work with.

Cons

Every now and then I see the loading wheel keep spinning a little longer than we'd like which interrupts my flow.

Flexible and smooth rollout

Pros

What impresses me most is Jedox's flexibility. The fact that it can be customized to fit our needs is amazing. And the rollout was incredibly smooth and easy.

Cons

It would be great to have an undo feature like Excel as I often want to revert changes with a single click.

i like the self-service reports

Pros

The software is easy to use and the connections to different data sources are very helpful. Also our team can create their own reports and do analysis without needing help from IT. And every time I have contacted Jedox support, they have been quick, helpful and always responsive.

Cons

I have no major complaints as overall I am very happy with the product. If I had to name one issue, we recently discovered a feature we relied upon was deprecated in the latest release. The documentation on the knowledge base did not provide sufficient detail about how to transition or rebuild our process smoothly.

powerful modeling is the best

Pros

Jedox stands out because it is easy to use, simple in design yet very powerful for modeling.

Cons

No major cons to share but losing the Excel Import Wizard in the latest release is easily my biggest bugbear and it's something that annoys me a lot.

Customizable tool

Pros

The thing I noticed is that it can be customized to our specific needs. I use both the web interface and the Excel add-in which lets me build custom reports myself as well.

Cons

As per me the biggest issue was performance. As the system slowed down because it became more complex after we customized it to fit our needs.
