Well-organized finance categories

Pros

Everything is laid out in clear categories and each section lines up well with the part of the finances you're working on which makes it simple to find what you need.

Cons

There are system glitches, loading errors and frequent times when the site just isn't accessible.

No extra help needed

Pros

The platform is simple to use and as an employee, we're able to handle most changes on our own without needing extra help.

Efficient syncing that saves time

Pros

Cons

Not as good as the desktop version

Pros

Having the ability to log in from anywhere is the part that works best for me and that flexibility is the reason I keep using it.

Cons

At the same time, it feels absolutely nothing like QuickBooks Desktop and a lot of the interface just isn't user-friendly to figure out.

Direct deposit finally sorted

Pros

After some effort, it did end up working and let me receive direct deposit for a few smaller gigs.

Cons

Getting around the system was extremely confusing and it took several back-and-forth exchanges with the studio before I could get paid for the subcontractor role.

Great for managing my business finances

Pros

It has been excellent for managing my business finances. The interface feels user-friendly which makes bookkeeping and keeping track of finances very simple. Handling invoices, tracking expenses and generating reports all feels smooth and efficient.

Cons

One thing I'd like to see improved is the way our address and company information are displayed since parts of it are misaligned and extend off to the side. It would look much better if it were centered like the packing list. Other than that, everything works really well and I value how reliable the platform has been.

Reliable bookkeeping for cash flow

Pros

This is the bookkeeping software we rely on most and it helps us keep track of all the money coming in and going out.

Cons

Accounts receivable is the one area I wish were simpler to handle because it can be a bit tricky to manage.

Has every feature you'd expect

Pros

There's a reason this is the top online accounting software for businesses, it comes packed with just about every feature you'd expect and the delegated access is a big plus since my accountants can sign in directly.

Cons

What really gets under my skin is how often the pricing goes up. Intuit pretty much has a monopoly in this space, especially after acquiring Xero and those added costs just get passed straight on to business owners. You pretty much have to expect the monthly, quarterly or annual email explaining why another price increase is happening.

Makes bookkeeping manageable

Pros

It connects well with a lot of the systems we already use and getting everything linked up is pretty simple. It also makes bookkeeping much more manageable overall.

Cons

navigating from reports back to the transactions behind them can be annoying.

Been around for long

Pros

With this tool being established for so long, it comes with reliable features and functions and the support team is dependable too. Most issues seem well documented and thoroughly troubleshooted so they usually get resolved pretty quickly.

Cons

Because it has been around for so long some parts of it feel outdated and can be frustrating at times. I also really wish there were a way to mark a bill as paid without having it appear twice in the ledger.

Affordable for small businesses

Pros

Getting around the platform is pretty simple and the cost is fairly reasonable for a small business owner. It's also useful being able to keep detailed information on each customer in one place. I also pay for the bookkeeping service and my bookkeeper has been friendly and very helpful.

Cons

It is frustrating how much they raise prices with very little notice. Mine jumped from $300 to $500 based on my revenue which feels absolutely crazy. At that point, there is not much you can really do because you have already invested so much time learning how QuickBooks works and where everything is. Customer service is also not very good. Payroll support is decent but trying to find a direct phone number is a real struggle.

Overly complicated

Pros

Having everything together in one place for tax season and overall business operations is a really appealing concept.

Cons

Using it felt overly complicated for me. Getting my bank accounts connected and properly organized took way too long, the time clock didn't function the way it should and payroll was frustrating and exhausting to try to figure out.

Keeps payroll and finances organized

Pros

Having all our finances and payroll together has been really helpful. It keeps everything organized and makes managing both much more convenient.

Cons

Makes collaboration easier

Pros

It is simple to use and works well with CPA access which makes collaboration much easier. It can memorize recurring monthly transactions and the dashboard is excellent for reporting and customizing the screen so the features used most are always within reach.

Cons

It can be challenging for beginners, especially when it comes to categorizing transactions correctly without help from a CPA or bookkeeper. It gets much better once you learn the system but there is definitely a lot for a small business to figure out at first. The community is very helpful though the help files could be more useful.

Payroll and tax tasks simplified

Pros

Handling recurring work like payroll, tax filings and other HR-related tasks is much more manageable with this software.

Cons

Getting everything set up was fairly challenging. I made a few mistakes during the setup process and that has made it harder to clearly understand my business's numbers.

Stopped working

Pros

It handled my company's accounting well up until the point it suddenly stopped working because of an error.

Cons

After I ran into a bug in the software, I contacted support and was told I'd need to pay $550 for an update. Considering my subscription is already $35 a month, that feels like outright robbery and completely unacceptable from a software company.

Love the tech behind it

Pros

Organized records and clear reports

Pros

Overall, it's very user-friendly. It keeps my records and receipts well organized and the reports are clear and simple to read.

Cons

Payroll comes at an extra cost. I'm also not a big fan of the receipt upload process since each receipt has to be matched individually.

Pros

Using it for reconciliation and handling transactions feels very simple and it also comes with a wide range of reports that are really useful.

Cons

The invoicing side could be better and it's missing purchase order functionality.
