“Handy access to payroll records”

Pros

Having all my paycheck and tax details in one place is really convenient. I no longer have to wait for my W-2 to arrive in the mail since I can just print it directly from the system whenever I need it.

Cons

I'd like more information about the health insurance options it offers because there isn't much detail available there.

“Knowledgeable experts”

Pros

Having a mobile app is what makes this my top choice since I can manage my business anytime and from anywhere. Their customer support is strong and staffed by knowledgeable experts. It also integrates completely and overall I'm a very satisfied user who would confidently recommend it.

Cons

I haven't run into any downsides with it at all, to me, it's the best.

Pros

Getting around it is simple and it makes sense right away, plus it connects flawlessly with my dispatch service.

Cons

There are plenty of features that a small business may never actually use so it takes a bit of setup to tailor everything to what you really need.

Pros

Sending invoices is the part I enjoy most since it makes billing quick and simple.

It took me a while to figure out how to connect my business to the app.

Simple for new users and the customer service has been there whenever I needed help.

There are a lot of options and add-ons included which can feel a bit much for a small business.

“Lets me duplicate a previous invoice”

Pros

It makes it easy to send invoices. I can duplicate a previous invoice, make a few changes and send it out without starting from scratch. It also makes it very convenient to keep up with customer payments and see what's been paid.

Cons

Job costing is pretty limited. We end up relying on a third-party app, Citrix, to track job costs because there isn't a good built-in way to handle that in the system.

“Split data across two sites”

Pros

It allows me to see the income I earn from my 1099 contract work.

Cons

Out of nowhere, they changed the name and now my information is split between two different websites.

“Solid customization”

Pros

Everything feels easy to use. Reporting is not a problem and the customization options are really solid.

Cons

The site can be slow and it often freezes which leads to the spinning wheel of death.

It connects really well with other parts of our financial reporting which makes things more convenient.

The pricing feels too high and the fees keep going up without much clear reason behind it.

“Outdated and complex interface”

Integrates nicely with other platforms and brings a few standout advantages that cut down my need for separate tools, especially for travel and tax filing.

Cons

Interface is a bit complex and comes across as somewhat outdated, almost like using a Windows 7-era application. It just doesn't have the modern flow that some other platforms offer.

“Broken promises and no real help”

Pros

Dealing with customer support has been awful. The migration team keeps saying one thing and then never follows through. It's always, "yes, yes, we'll fix this," and then it turns into, "sorry, this needs to be escalated," followed by, "sorry, it actually wasn't escalated and now it will take 9-12 business days." They keep promising that someone will reach out but nobody ever does.

Cons

Data migration has been the biggest problem by far, along with how little transparency there is. They seem to have plenty of people available to answer calls all day but not anyone who can actually resolve the issue.

“Appreciate the accessibility”

Pros

I really appreciate the accessibility. Being able to log in and use it from pretty much anywhere is a big plus.

Cons

Getting around the different sections is difficult on an iPad or other mobile device.

“Easy to set up categories”

Pros

Connecting it to our bank account was simple, matching transactions is easy and setting up categories didn't take much effort.

Cons

The invoicing and billing tools feel too limited and don't offer enough customization for medical billing.

It has been the best software for me. It's very simple to learn and use which made getting started really comfortable.

It has been working really well the whole time and I haven't run into any issues while using it.

Pros

The income statement display by class and location is really useful and gives a clear breakdown of the numbers.

Cons

It logs me out pretty often. There are also times when I add an expense category and, after saving, it asks me to add the category again which ends up preventing the transaction from being saved.

“bank feeds are not reliable”

Pros

It works well for the average business owner because it's user-friendly. From an accountant/bookkeeper perspective, being able to log in and use it from wherever I'm working is a big plus. As long as I have wifi, I can get to it.

Cons

The bank feeds just aren't dependable and I don't have time to chase down authorization codes from every client whenever the feeds stop working. I also won't give clients access to the files because I don't want QuickBooks trying to poach them with all the live bookkeeper ads. On top of that, there really should be a better way to enter bank transactions manually like there is in desktop. The bank feeds are far too glitchy to count on.

“Helpful for remote teams”

Pros

Being able to sign in from anywhere on any device has been really helpful for our remote team members and staff who travel often.

Cons

If you're coming from Desktop, the reporting features and template options feel like a downgrade in comparison.

“Less capable than the desktop version”

Pros

Its biggest advantage is how simple it is to use. The whole system is centered around the checkbook and it helps automate things like payroll, bill payments and invoicing. Since it runs in the cloud through a browser, there's nothing to install and you can access it from anywhere. It also makes working with an accountant much more efficient because both of you can view the same information in real time instead of emailing files back and forth and it even works on a mobile device.

Cons

Where it falls short is pricing and capability compared with the desktop version. The cost really isn't competitive and the online product feels far less capable than their desktop software. If you need automated payroll, you're expected to fit into their rigid package structure. Need quarterly payroll? That's not available unless you process it manually every quarter and it has to be done by the last day since automated payroll doesn't allow after-the-fact handling. I'd say desktop users who move over will end up paying at least twice as much for a cloud product that is less flexible and less dynamic. On top of that, support has been disappointing, most of the reps don't seem to be accountants or actual users of the software and instead rely on scripts just to move the call along so searching Google is often more helpful than contacting Intuit support.

“Can export lists into Excel”

Pros

The ease of use the tools offer is one of the best parts. It is very well-organized so I can usually figure out what needs to be done without much help and that lets me finish my actual work much faster. Another feature I really appreciate is being able to export lists and search results into other programs like Excel. The transaction search is also a huge help and has saved me a lot of time.

Cons

I dont enjoy the updates. Once I get into a routine and build a rhythm for entering information, a lot of the updates tend to disrupt that flow by adding extra steps to my process. I understand that updates are necessary as technology keeps changing but they can still slow me down and take time to adjust to. In my opinion, many of the changes feel fairly unnecessary, almost like things are being updated just for the sake of saying an update was made on schedule.

Pros

Pretty easy to use and it lets our company update orders, inventory and invoices from practically anywhere.

Cons

The reporting options don't really match what we need. When we try to pull sales reports, the filters and criteria we require just aren't available.
