“Pricey plans and unhelpful support”

Pros

It covers pretty much everything a small to mid-sized business would want from accounting software. You get integrations, a mobile app and built-in payment processing which is a rare combination to find all in one product. It's probably one of the only options out there that brings all of those features together.

Cons

There are quite a few hidden drawbacks. First, the subscription cost climbs very quickly, especially if you need multi-currency support or payroll. Second, customer service feels useless. The phone reps don't really solve technical problems beyond remotely logging in and pointing at settings and email support isn't much better since you can't even respond back. It really comes across like support isn't an actual conversation, just them repeating company policy and terms. Third, for an accounting platform, they make too many mistakes with their own subscription billing. In one case, after I canceled a $60/month plan for one business, I was still charged $60/month for another business that had fewer features. When I brought it up, they refused to fix it and just hid behind their policy.

Using it feels simple and I can get to it from anywhere without any hassle.

Quite user friendly and using it day to day is simple. Creating new accounts is also quick.

The online help search doesn't bring up the exact answer I need sometimes. And every now and then, when I call support, I get a representative who is a little hard for me to understand although they are always patient and genuinely helpful.

Pros

Keeping up with invoices and payments to independent contractors is much more manageable with this, especially for small business owners. It helped me stay on top of every payment related to my work and adding my banking information was simple as well.

Cons

Payments can take a while to process and I really wish it provided notifications with an estimated timeframe for when the money would arrive.

Being able to use it from any internet-connected device is a big advantage.

Having to manually update expense categories is annoying.

It allows me to log in from wherever I need to work and it's also really helpful that all approved users can access it online instead of needing to be in the office on our server.

The hardest part for me was learning how to use it after moving over from an older desktop version. Since we hadn't stayed current with updates, it honestly felt a lot like having to learn a completely new system.

Bulk categorization saves a lot of time and using rules makes sorting transactions much faster. There are also plenty of reports available which is really useful when you need to review your numbers from different angles.

The bank connection doesn't always work the way it should and when some banking data fails to import, it can seriously throw off the accuracy of your books.

Pros

It cuts down a huge amount of work by automating more than 87% of manual accounting tasks, including AP, AR and GL which saves a lot of time.

I honestly haven't run into even the smallest drawback while using it.

The software offers a lot of useful features which is a strong point but the overall interface is not very user-friendly.

The connected bank accounts constantly lose their connection and never seem to stay linked reliably.

It can feel a bit complicated if you're not familiar with accounting software and at times it can be pretty intimidating.

Keeping on top of my finances is much simpler with this. The setup is very user-friendly and being able to give my accountant direct access means she can review everything herself without me having to export files and send them over separately. It also links to my bank account without hassle and the invoicing tools are really helpful for getting bills out and payments in quickly.

Cons

I was hoping to use the feature that lets you email a receipt into the account so it automatically attaches to the right transaction which would have been incredibly useful. Unfortunately, it never worked properly with my email. Support did try to assist but we still couldn't figure out what was causing the problem.

The setup and overall navigation can feel a bit confusing at first, especially when you're just getting started.

The interface feels very well-organized and the standout feature is the automatic transaction logging along with the machine learning tools.
