“useful for splitting bills”

Pros

Being self-employed, this has been really useful for splitting bills and keeping track of estimated tax payments.

Cons

It may have been user error but when we connected it to our tax software, we ended up having to answer several of the same questions twice.

“Automatic updates and quick reconciliations”

Pros

Everything automatically updates for the client when I'm entering information as the accountant. Linking bank accounts also makes bank reconciliations incredibly simple and much less of a hassle.

Cons

The part I miss is having the standard shortcuts from the desktop version since those made it much easier to keep my hands on the keyboard and move through entries faster. That said, I'm picking up a few alternative ways to do it as I go.

Lets me sign in from anywhere. I'm not tied to my house or the office to use it.

After certain updates, they don't let you switch back to some of the previous settings.

Having access to my accounting books whenever and wherever I need them has been really convenient. It includes all the bookkeeping features I rely on and connecting bank accounts is simple. I also appreciate being able to add transactions instantly once everything is linked.

Cons

There is very little to complain about at this point and I'm satisfied with the product overall.

Its amazing how smoothly it connected with so many different companies.

Cons

The support experience was a bit frustrating once I finally got connected to an agent. The actual help came pretty quickly after that but getting to that point took longer than it should have.

Creating invoices and keeping track of expenses feels very simple which saves a lot of time. Being cloud-based is a big plus too, especially when working remotely and needing access from anywhere. It also connects well with widely used platforms like PayPal which makes day-to-day tasks more convenient. On top of that, customer support has been responsive whenever help was needed.

Cons

Some of the more advanced features definitely take longer to learn so there is a bit of a learning curve once you move beyond the basics. The pricing can also climb pretty quickly if you start adding extra features or add-ons.

Once you get familiar with how the system works, it becomes very simple to use. I also appreciate being able to customize what I need and remove the parts I don't which makes payroll processing much more manageable.

Cons

The reports section can be frustrating because it's often hard to find exactly what I'm looking for.

From day one, it has been incredibly user-friendly. There are plenty of helpful articles, FAQs and how-to guides available and when those aren't enough, the Assistant is there with useful tutorials as well. We've been using this program for four years now and I'd absolutely recommend it. It really feels like the possibilities are endless!

At this stage, I honestly can't think of any downsides to the program.

I was a bit surprised by how limited the invoice customization is and the types of data you can pull out are somewhat restricted. That said, there are apps available that can help fill in those smaller gaps.

Moving from the desktop version to the online one took some getting used to. The layout feels quite different so the first stretch requires a bit of patience while you adjust.

Right from the start, it covers pretty much everything a business needs. Once it's set up properly, day-to-day tasks become fast and simple. You can manage all kinds of accounting and bookkeeping in it, much like the older desktop version. The integrations with banks, apps and other tools are also really valuable.

Cons

it clearly seems built more for smaller businesses. Intuit's approach feels centered on giving companies everything they need through a monthly subscription. The desktop version may cost more upfront but if you're able to pay for it, you can end up with everything you need and likely keep it long term. Aside from that, it can be a little laggy at times though not enough to be truly frustrating.

It does a very reliable job of tracking a lot of details and I can run multiple reports that help me stay on top of my accounting.
