“Helpful invoice reminders”
Pros
Very easy to use and giving our accountant access has worked out really well. The automatic reminders for unpaid invoices are also a big time-saving feature.
Cons
Something that keeps being frustrating is the bank connection. We've had ongoing trouble reconnecting it which has caused a lot of headaches. I understand part of that comes from banks adding more security to online access but it still creates problems when trying to pull bank transactions into the system.

“Easy to create invoices”
Pros
Handling invoices in this software has been one of the best parts for me. I mainly use it in a development role, where I send invoices to donors and sponsors and the whole process is very user-friendly. It's simple to create invoices and the system keeps clear, readable records that make it convenient to track customer history, including paid and overdue invoices and to generate financial reports. It also includes all the key invoicing features I need, like adding attachments and using customizable classes and categories. Since several team members are involved in invoicing, being able to check an invoice's transaction history is especially useful as well.
Cons
The latest update that changed the homepage navigation has taken a bit of time to adjust to but aside from that, I've run into very few problems with the software.

“A bit too complex”
Pros
Appreciate the integration with the income tax system. Being able to carry business information over into other Intuit products also makes it feel like a one-stop shop which is definitely convenient.
Cons
I ended up stopping using it because it was more complex than what I actually needed and as a first-time user, finding the right training or guidance was difficult.

Pros
Using it for basic accounting has made the whole process much more easy. It helps track expenses and invoices without having to handle everything manually and generating reports is much simpler too.
Cons
At first it can feel a little complicated. If you don't come from an accounting background some features may take a while to understand although it still cuts down a lot on manual work.

Pros
It covers all the core accounting and bookkeeping tools a small business really needs. My accounting knowledge is pretty limited and my needs are fairly basic so this software fits my skill level well and gives me what I need without being too much. The support team has also been solid and it's really useful that I can provide my accountant with separate access.
Cons
Ever since the redesign, the system feels more complicated and visually overcrowded to me. The updated features and new layout that were meant to improve things have mostly just left me feeling frustrated and confused. I really wish there were an option to keep using the previous layout because I don't enjoy being forced into the new one.

Cons

It feels very simple even without any accounting experience. The dashboard offers a clear, real-time view of finances and moving between invoicing, expenses and reports feels natural and well connected. The invoicing tools really stand out, they look professional, can be customized and are fast to send. Reporting is detailed without being overwhelming which makes it much easier to keep track of overall business performance.
Cons
There's not much to complain about. At times, the platform can be a little slow to load during busy periods and some of the more advanced tools take a bit of time to find. The pricing can also add up depending on the plan which could be something to think about for very small businesses or freelancers working with a limited budget.

“Saves me a lot of time”

It connects well with our project management software. It transfers data back and forth without issues and has cut down, if not completely removed, the need for double entry. That alone has saved us a lot of time. For less than $100 a month, it gives us a complete view of project profitability along with the financial performance of the business overall. We also have not run into glitches, problems or anything along those lines. QBO has been a dependable and consistent partner for our business.
Cons
Something I have questioned is why QBO does not offer a clearly visible learning portal directly within the account. If there is one available, it certainly is not prominent enough in my opinion.

Using it day to day feels very simple. Having the bank feed pull transactions in directly makes month-end close much more manageable. Expense categorization is simple and the system's suggestions based on previous entries are a helpful touch.
Cons
A few areas still feel restrictive especially around customizing import fields when using the general ledger to match A/R payments brought in from a CRM. We have to rely on Saasant to reformat the data before importing it and there's no option to build an API connection from the CRM.

Cons

Pros
Right away, it felt like good value for the money. The interface was user friendly, invoicing worked well and getting around the system was pretty simple. Setting up users was simple too and I appreciated being able to assign specific roles based on what each person needed access to.
Cons
Dimension tracking could be stronger especially if you need more detailed tracking for cost codes and equipment usage. The bigger frustration was customer service. We used QB for payroll as well and anytime we needed support, the experience across the platform was really poor. Most of the time we ended up with someone who didn't seem properly trained and we could often figure out the answer ourselves by searching online before support could provide a solution.
