Customizable reports

Pros

It's simple to use even if you don't have an accounting background or know things like double-entry bookkeeping. It covers pretty much everything you need, including reports, invoices, payments and more. The reporting tools are especially helpful since you can customize reports and save your own formats for later use.

Cons

Not a fan of its speed. Compared with the Desktop version I used before, this one loads much more slowly which makes work feel less efficient. Even simple tasks like opening and closing invoices can be sluggish and frustrating. That's something that really should be improved soon.

Justifies its cost

Pros

This tool has been a key part of our company's financial management and reporting for years. The API makes it simple to connect with our field management software which helps a lot with invoicing and keeping track of estimates. Out of all the software we use, it delivers the best value for the money.

Cons

Customer support can fall short at times especially when certain features are locked behind extra upgrade costs. Support can sometimes feel more focused on selling than actually helping. That said, whenever we've run into bugs or other issues, they have always been fixed, usually within 48 hours.

Decent tool

Pros

It covers most of what we need for invoicing customers, tracking sales and use tax, expenses and similar day-to-day accounting tasks.

Cons

A few parts still feel limited especially estimates which I wish had more customization options. I'd also prefer to be able to pay sales and use tax directly through the platform.

Glitchy software

Pros

Creating invoices with it is pretty simple and I really enjoy how the dashboard page is laid out.

Cons

There are a lot of glitches and most of the time I'd rather be using a different program. Still, it gets the job done for now.

Overcomplicated and off-brand

Pros

I was initially drawn to it because of its long-standing reputation and the brand itself, along with the promised advantages of the service.

Cons

The app felt far too complicated, excessively focused on data and completely at odds with what I always thought the Intuit brand originally represented.

Messy interface

Pros

The invoicing features are one of the better parts of the software. Entering journal entries and recording transactions works well overall and the financial reporting feels user-friendly and simple to use.

Cons

There are far too many pop-ups throughout the system. I have no need for financing offers so the constant on-screen promotions feel like unnecessary clutter. It's also frustrating that there isn't really a good way to customize the interface and remove a lot of the items I never use.

Positive experience overall

Pros

Using it in my accounting work has been a really positive experience overall. The interface feels clean and user-friendly so moving around the platform and working with clients is very simple. I really value that it's free for accountants and the accountant dashboard makes it convenient to see and manage all of my clients from one place. Giving clients access and walking them through their books is very simple which makes collaboration much more efficient. Most of my clients like using it too and the Essentials plan tends to be the best match for what they need.

Cons

I had trouble accepting payments and support wasn't able to completely fix it. Even now, that same problem still comes up from time to time. When it does, I end up using other tools to handle payments.

Cloud access anytime

Pros

Being able to access it in the cloud is the biggest advantage for me. Logging in from anywhere at any time is really what convinced me to choose this product.

Cons

The part I'm least happy with is how limited the customization is on a lot of the reports. In several cases, you have to rely on outside apps to get the customization you need.

essential for our business

Pros

Day to day this software is a core part of how we keep the business operating efficiently. We rely on it constantly and honestly, it would be hard to function without it. It helps us stay on top of everything and the customer service has been excellent as well.

Cons

After using it as a long-term solution, there really have not been many downsides. The biggest drawback is still the learning curve at the beginning although we see that as a fair time investment for what the software provides.

Well-designed product

Pros

Over the past three years using it in my real estate work, it has been detailed and simple to handle. I'm not especially strong with numbers but the layout feels clean and user-friendly which makes it much easier to work in.

Cons

One thing I'd really want added is the ability to export all employee paystub PDFs at once instead of having to do them separately.

tidy interface

Pros

Being web-based is a big plus since I can get into it while I'm on the go. The layout is simple so it's easy to use and move around and pulling reports is very simple.

Cons

At times, Tasks don't appear unless I refresh the page a few times. In the Tasks section, after I approve and save something, the list doesn't update immediately.

Meets my expectations

Pros

Managing my business expenses with this has been pretty simple overall. It made it simple to track spending sort everything into the right categories and handle the accounting tasks I actually needed for my business. It covered the essentials I was looking for and did what I needed it to do.

Cons

Since my company is on the smaller side, I really didn't need all of the extra features included. A lot of those added options kept being offered but they just weren't relevant or useful for my business.

easy to set up

Pros

It is not hard to set up. I really appreciate not having to think about buying updates or new versions separately.

Cons

Simple to figure out

Pros

Pretty simple to use and understand. It's really helpful for keeping track of everything electronically even though not a lot of people seem to use it much.

Cons

Since not many people are familiar with it, you end up having to teach and explain how everything works. That said, once they understand it, they just need to keep using it consistently.

Pros

The program feels user-friendly and it provides helpful prompts and guidance whenever needed. When an issue comes up, there are multiple support options available which is reassuring.

Cons

The interface was updated recently and the new look feels completely different at first until you dig into it and start finding the familiar parts again.

Accounting on the go

Pros

After using it for decades, I still think it's an excellent option especially because I can log in from any laptop and there's also a mobile app which is what I use most of the time. It's a powerful platform that gives small businesses like mine a practical way to handle accounting, invoicing, credit card payments and more all in one place, while still being reasonably priced.

Cons

Nothing to complain about. They continue to roll out upgrades that add better features and make the system more user-friendly. They've also expanded integrations with third-party apps which makes it even more convenient to use.

Keeps our financial information organized

Pros

Handling the books for our non-profit is much more manageable with this. It lets me sort expenses and revenue clearly and generate reports that I can share with the rest of the board of directors. I really appreciate how well it keeps all of our financial information organized.

Cons

A few features are not especially user-friendly, particularly invoicing, receipt management and accepting credit card payments.

Brilliant accounting solution for small businesses

Pros

It works really well as an accounting solution for small businesses. It's simple enough for non-accountants to use, while still being practical and effective for accountants too.

Cons

The interface feels a bit outdated and it's not quite as user-friendly to navigate as other platforms like Xero.

Helpful reports and solid value

Pros

Using it mainly for financial reporting has worked out really well. The system is user-friendly, the reports are useful and it feels like good value for the money.

Cons

Check printing has its limitations. There's very little flexibility to customize templates or account details and having to purchase pre-printed checks adds extra cost, increases the chance of mistakes and creates more paper waste.
