Pros

Once I learned how to navigate it, using the software became very easy! I can access all the necessary information with just a click or two. The time and date stamps on records are a great feature as they simplify my search for payment and billing data.

Cons

The one aspect of Recurly that I really dislike is the requirement to generate new passwords occasionally. However, apart from that, everything else is perfect.

This tool is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Recurly has been a lifesaver for me, especially when it comes to finding our members invoices and charges. I no longer need to seek help from our team leads because the information provided is clear and concise.

Cons

One thing I particularly like about Recurly is the transaction feature, where I can check the status and errors of the card before saving it in the system. It provides precise information about encountered errors and suggests solutions. Additionally, it offers other useful features such as the card update tab, activities and a list of orders/invoices.

Cons

What I like least is the software's security system that automatically logs you out if you're idle for more than 15 minutes. While it's not a major issue, it can be problematic at times.

Recurly is a good choice for online subscription billing and management
Pros

Recurly is easy to configure and use. As a support representative, I can easily review customer billing information, subscriptions, coupons and discounts and make necessary changes. I like that there are hosted account and billing management pages available which allows customers to update their information without logging in.

Cons

As a non-admin user, I have limited access to certain data I need to support my customers, such as viewing add-on products and accessing reports that detail which products were sold and to whom. Perhaps this configuration is specific to my company's decision rather than the default access based on user type.

A must for emerging subscription-based business model
Pros

Recurly impresses me by seamlessly integrating with our existing tools. What I particularly like is the flexibility it offers in accommodating a wider range of customers beyond month-to-month plans. We can customize subscriptions to fit our needs, including annual plans, prepaid plans and billing cycles every other month or every three months. The invoicing feature is fantastic as it allows our sales team to close deals without requiring upfront credit card information. Once accounts are set up, we can provide customers with a specific link to make payments themselves which improves trust level by reducing the number of people who handle their cards.

Cons

When processing a refund, another invoice is generated with a different invoice number. It would be better if the original invoice could be updated to indicate "fully refunded" or "partially refunded" instead of creating a new one. Additionally, the software times out after a period of inactivity for security reasons. When 2-step verification is enabled, it always asks for it during re-login, which causes annoyance.

Pros

Managing accounts and subscriptions, integrating with other tools and the flexibility to work with custom plans are some of the things I love about Recurly. It also provides seamless trial to subscription management, automated customer notifications and customized messaging.

What impresses me most about Recurly is its versatility. I have a wide range of options to send customized discounts, codes, create plans, edit renewal dates, process manual payments, send invoices, set up alerts, customize invoices and provide credits.

Cons

I had a disappointing experience with customer service. They charged us thousands of dollars for a single bill, despite us raising the issue multiple times. We were passed around to 5 different customer support representatives, and in the end, they refused to address our request. We've been their customer for over three years, and it's very disheartening to feel ripped off in this manner.

Pros

The freedom in setting up subscriptions is something I love about Recurly. I can easily configure future start dates, bill forwards, automatic billing and apply percentage or dollar discounts. Recurly simplifies the process and handles exceptions well.

Cons

The rollout of new features is quite slow. Sometimes, when setting up multiple subscriptions to occur simultaneously, they end up being sent separately. Recurly only allows you to choose the hour (in UTC) for a subscription, but occasionally, they change the minute without explanation. As an admin, it's frustrating to manage this confusing anomaly.

Cons

I often find myself getting lost in the invoices and payments section. It's not very clear, and when checking how much a specific client pays, it displays the full price without considering any discounts they may have. So, I have to manually calculate the discount. Let's start with support. I genuinely love how helpful the team is. I would be lost without them. While I can't compare it to other programs, I feel that Recurly meets (or at least most) of our needs. The design and user-friendly interface are also aspects I really like.

Cons

I wish there were more options for customizing reports. The software doesn't feel very intuitive to me, and I think having tooltips would greatly help navigate its business impact. While there is a Help section and FAQ, it can take some time to find the specific information I need.

I haven't discovered a specific feature that stands out yet. I'm still working on a simple setup with Recurly. Hopefully, one day it will be set up properly, as we're losing money every day due to inadequate support.

Cons

The on-boarding support is terrible. I really wish Recurly had a better customer service team that could assist with setting up the product. Instead, I keep getting passed around without receiving the correct information, even though other providers confirmed it's all that's needed.

In about 95% of the cases I've dealt with, Recurly provides the majority of the necessary payment information. Once you become familiar with the user interface, navigating and quickly accessing billing details for troubleshooting becomes quite easy. The support team is professional and always helpful.

Cons

If you don't have any colleagues who are already using it, it may take a bit longer to get accustomed to the software since not all elements are intuitive. Support sometimes takes a while to respond, and it's not available 24/7.

Not great, but the best reoccurring billing platform.
Pros

When it comes to tools in this field, Recurly is the most advanced. You can customize checkouts using reculry.js, and the platform offers a great deal of flexibility in its usage.

Cons

I wish the exported reports were improved. It's frustrating that I can't see how many days are left in an ending subscription in the export, which makes it difficult to follow up with customers. I can only see the number of remaining occurrences, but if I offer both monthly and annual plans, I have to manually segment that information. Additionally, I would like better analytics to gain more insight into plan performance and churn by plan. The email targeting feature also needs improvement. Currently, I can't target ending trials unless the plan has a trial, and there are several small issues like this across the platform. Moreover, the emails sent from Recurly servers often end up in the spam folder for our customers.

Our billing department has undergone a complete transformation thanks to this program. The interface is quite user-friendly, but the biggest advantage, in my opinion, is their exceptional support team. The chat box is always available, and they respond to your questions within seconds.

Cons

Understanding how the program works and its pre-designed features had a bit of a learning curve for me. It was challenging to navigate and disable the excessive automatic emails (or even be aware that they were being sent in the first place).
