“Love how easy invoicing feels
Pros
Tipalti is really helpful for monitoring every invoice and their due dates in our system. Because Tipalti can identify which vendor sent each invoice, I don't have to waste time manually matching invoices to the right vendor anymore.
Cons
My only wish for Tipalti would be a button that says 'Paid Manually' or an option that lets me mark certain invoices as quotes and place them into a separate list, keeping them out of my main bill list so they aren't filling it up.

“Smooth onboarding and great support
Pros
On both the payer and payee sides, the onboarding flow was incredibly clear and easy to follow. Whenever I ran into a problem, the support team responded quickly and helped me resolve my requests so I could finish the setup without delays.
Cons
I find that Tipalti still needs quite a bit of manual preparation before payments can be finalized which is time-consuming. There are also certain account options that only support can change so we have to open a ticket or call someone whenever we want to update those preferences and that becomes a problem if we need something done right away. For example, reconfiguring whether transaction fees are applied at the payee level versus at the payment-batch level is not something I can toggle myself. On top of that, I cannot fully walk through the payee setup flow in a dry run without executing it which makes it hard for me to capture screenshots or guide others through the process.

I am really pleased with the approval workflows and the vendor setup features, those functions work smoothly and meet our needs.
Cons
Uploading invoices has been frustrating. I wish I could add files to an invoice that's already been uploaded, like a Dropbox-style spot where I can drop additional attachments and they automatically attach to the existing invoice. It also bothers me that there's no explanation field when I delete an invoice. Beyond that, I want to be able to change certain invoice details, such as due dates and item descriptions, without having to re-route the invoice for approval every single time.

I really appreciate that the platform shows the status of every payment in a clear, easy-to-read format. It makes it simple for our accounting team to manage invoices and for the marketing team to quickly check where each invoice stands so everyone stays on the same page.
Cons
Personally, I find the whole workflow frustratingly slow, from uploading invoices and waiting for approvals to processing payments and sending them to vendors. There are too many steps involved and I wish the procedure were streamlined and faster overall.

Pros
One thing I have genuinely enjoyed about Tipalti is how much it streamlines paying other people and the sheer variety of payment options it supports. It made sending payments effortless for me because it works with over 100 different currencies and a long list of payment methods, everything from debit cards and PayPal to local bank transfers and more. That kind of flexibility didn't just make my job easier, it also helped boost our organization's reputation since we could consistently present ourselves professionally when dealing with suppliers, customers and vendors. Another major reason I liked using Tipalti was its tax automation and reporting features. We cut down on workload and saved a lot of time, while avoiding many manual mistakes thanks to built-in W-9 and W-8 tax compliance that we used to stay in line with FATCA, plus the ability to quickly generate 1042-S tax reports. I also relied on the Supplier Management portal to keep tax details organized, automate invoice collection and simplify approval routing which gave us a clearer overview and tighter control over our suppliers. Beyond that, the overall user-friendly nature of these functions made it much easier to reduce human error across the board which ended up being a significant benefit for our team.
Cons
The main downside I ran into with Tipalti involved its integration with NetSuite which I depended on heavily. In my experience it repeatedly failed to sync billing PDFs into NetSuite and that created a lot of hassle because I had to go back and forth between the two systems trying to locate the most current version of documents. That constant manual checking and reconciliation added extra time and frustration to processes that I would have preferred to keep automated.

“Frustrating and not intuitive

I really appreciate not having to manually enter every invoice detail, it saves me time and avoids repetitive coding. I also like that management approvals can be automated inside the system which streamlines the workflow. Overall it's definitely an improvement over doing everything by hand.
Cons
One major frustration for me is that the system feels clunky and far from user-friendly which makes routine tasks more aggravating than they should be. When I try to pay several invoices for the same vendor, I get annoyed that I cannot just tick multiple invoices at once from the vendor page, instead I must handle each one individually. While I know there's a workaround by going to the full invoices list and applying filters, it would be so much more convenient to be able to select multiple items directly on the vendor screen. The layout and flow aren't very user-friendly and my team and I keep running into errors all the time.

Cons
We encountered numerous issues with the integration between Teampay, Tipalti, and Netsuite. Although they were marketed as a comprehensive solution, they haven't fully delivered on this promise. While each software performs adequately independently, they rely on each other for full end-to-end procurement capabilities.

The software works pretty reliably on its own and it makes processing invoices and paying vendors easy and hassle-free.
Cons
We ran into a ton of problems getting Teampay, Tipalti and Netsuite to talk to each other reliably. The vendors sold us Tipalti and Teampay together as a bundled solution but in practice they haven't delivered on that promise. Each tool seems to work more smoothly standing alone yet they depend on one another to provide a complete end-to-end procurement workflow so the broken integrations left us without the seamless system we were sold.

We save both time and money with Tipalti which frees our team to focus on other priorities instead of getting bogged down by the bank's outdated, clunky systems.
