“Super easy and saves time
Pros
It is really easy for both one-off and bulk payments. Using it has cut down the time our team spends on accounts payable and has also reduced mistakes by users.
Cons
Some of the connections to our ERP could be better though that hasn't been a showstopper for us, the gaps are fairly specific to how we use the system.

“Great for bulk payouts
Pros
For our regular, monthly bulk payments, I rely on Tipalti, it's been reliable and makes the whole process much easier.
Cons
Honestly when payments are delayed, I find their support team isn't very helpful and responses can be frustratingly slow.

“Great vendor self-service setup
Pros
My favorite thing about the platform is that vendors are required to fill out their own profiles. Because of that, we don't have to touch vendor account or tax information which cuts down on the chance of transcription mistakes. If something does go wrong, we feel sure the problem happened on the client's side rather than being caused by anything we did.
Cons
I wish we could connect our Tipalti bank account directly to QuickBooks Online but that option doesn't appear to exist so I end up manually importing all of our transaction records.

“pretty decent deal as per me
Pros
What I am really excited about is being able to pay our clients in their native currency and give them a wide selection of payment methods. If we had tried to configure all of that through our bank by hand, it would have created a great deal of extra work.
Cons
I have noticed some API connections still aren't functioning properly and the Salesforce integration, in particular, is giving us trouble.

“Easy interface for approvals
Pros
I like the easy, user-friendly interface and the easy email-based approval process for end users.
Cons
the platform lacks powerful workflow approval features and the automatic debit option is still in beta so I have to add funds manually.

“Great for handling bulk payments
Pros
We process thousands of payments each month and what I appreciate is being able to upload one complete file containing everything so every invoice gets imported in a single batch making them immediately ready for the next colleague to review and approve.
Cons
I don't like that after I mark a bill as paid I cannot edit its invoice details if I accidentally labeled them incorrectly.

“Great for lighter payment volume
Pros
I only have to handle a couple of payouts each month instead of managing hundreds of transactions.
Cons
the bank fees aren't transparent and it turns out to be considerably pricier than handling the payments through my bank.

“quite impressed with this tool
Pros
I am really impressed with how user-friendly Tipalti feels. It has lowered the number of manual checks my company issues and significantly shortened bill payment time by half.
Cons
In my experience Tipalti can be a bit sluggish and convincing large corporations to sign up and adopt the platform is more difficult. It also doesn't connect with desktop QuickBooks.

“provide payment flexibility
Pros
What I value most are multiple payment methods, with PayPal being the top priority, a KYC procedure handled by you and various options that let us customize how money is sent to meet our needs. I also find the volume of documents with detailed integration information to be a positive aspect.
Cons
The onboarding workflow felt overly complex for both our company and the end users. Speaking as a business owner, I found the entire onboarding timeline far too long. We also experienced an excessive number of sales meetings. Integration was the easiest stage. From conversations with our customers, I can tell you that the time required to create a Tipalti account is excessively long and complicated.

“Great for bulk bill handling
Pros
I appreciate being able to import bills in bulk and to have invoices from payees automatically come in and be paid all in the same place
Cons
it's frustrating that I cannot make payments directly through the UI in a simple way and I am forced to work with CSV sheets

“Great fit for multi-entity payments
Pros
What convinced our team to choose Tipalti was the tight integration with NetSuite OneWorld and the fact we can keep all of our subsidiaries documents in one central place. The approval workflow is easy and genuinely helpful to use.
Cons
I see three main areas where Tipalti could use some improvements. Because our goal is to have every bill stored centrally in Tipalti, we still run into bills that never get processed through the system. I would really like the ability to record the account and payment details for any manual payments inside Tipalti and have that information automatically sync back to NetSuite so we don't have to maintain duplicate records. Handling bill credits is another pain point, it doesn't integrate cleanly right now and causes extra reconciliation work. The sync dashboard exists but in practice it's clunky and doesn't clearly explain why a record failed invalid account, etc. which means our team spends a lot of time chasing down vague failures instead of resolving them quickly. When an invoice fails and the subsequent bill payment also fails, Tipalti reports them as two separate errors even though they're part of the same issue, grouping related failures together would make troubleshooting much faster. Also, small conveniences matter. being able to map manual payments to the correct general ledger account and having bill credit flows behave more like standard bills would save us hours each month. Finally, approval emails are excessive for users who log in to Tipalti to approve things, I want a simple toggle so people who prefer to check the app directly don't get bombarded with messages.

“Huge time saver for payouts
Pros
At Libro.fm, we've been able to use Tipalti to pay more than 1,500 independent bookstores their audiobook revenue. Rather than processing each store's payment individually, our team simply uploads a .csv and sends payments immediately. Using Tipalti frees up hundreds of hours for us every year.
Cons
As with any new system, there was a bit of a learning curve for us to become comfortable with Tipalti's workflows but their support team has been very helpful and the Help Center contains clear, useful documentation that guided us through the setup.

“Super easy to use
Pros
It is quite user-friendly to use and I can quickly pull up reports without any hassle.
Cons
What frustrates me is that when a payment fails, I don't receive any alert on my side so I only discover issues after the recipient complains or the transaction shows as incomplete.

“Helpful approvals and payment flow
Pros
The payment workflow is reliable and a lot simpler than running checks through NetSuite and submitting payments from our bank. It's a big time-saver compared with the manual process we used before. Another thing I appreciate is the ability to designate specific users to approve each invoice, other systems we've tried force approvals by department but that's not always practical since the person managing a vendor can change within a department so having that flexibility has been really helpful. The vendor portal is also convenient because it allows suppliers to enter their own payment and tax information.
Cons
That said the company still feels relatively new and the product could use more refinement. I encounter a slow sometimes glitchy website more often than I would like which can be frustrating. Implementation and the NetSuite integration were bumpy, we ran into a lot of challenges during setup and continue to see random false positive sync errors that need manual resolution. The integration is decent but not flawless, for instance, Tipalti collects tax documents and tax IDs for new vendors but that data doesn't sync back to NetSuite. Their support team is fairly responsive when I reach out but support is limited to email rather than offering a chat option. Pricing is reasonable for most things but foreign exchange fees are disappointing, the cost to convert and pay in another currency is high enough that we usually process those payments through our bank instead.

“Great for paying global contractors
Pros
We're finally able to pay our more than 100 international consultants, each of whom invoices separately, directly through Tipalti.
Cons
I am frustrated that Tipalti doesn't let us use blanket approvals. Several of our managers have given written sign-off for a set amount for certain vendors and in our old AP system I could attach that written approval during invoice processing so the final approver, the Accounting Manager, could immediately see the pre-approval on file. In Tipalti there's no way to attach any backup documentation to the invoice and there isn't even a simple comments box where the AP processor could note that a blanket approval exists. As a result, it's harder to show documented authorization, causes unnecessary follow-ups and makes the approval flow less transparent for the accounting team.

“Best payout partner so far
Pros
In my company we've used around five or six payout processors over time and I can say without hesitation that Tipalti gave us the best customer experience. What stood out was having a single point of contact assigned to guide us through the integration and to answer any follow-up questions, that was incredibly helpful. Even after go-live, we kept weekly calls to check in and confirm there were no lingering issues with the cash flow processes we'd implemented which made the whole transition feel safe and well-supported.
Cons
These days we don't have a dedicated account manager and usually that's fine but when we've tried to get specific information about our account's settings or features, the support agents often don't have those details readily available. It becomes frustrating because we end up repeating background information or waiting while they look things up which slows down resolving what should be simple questions about how our account is configured.

“Easy to use but auditing issues
Pros
I find the interface very user-friendly and genuinely simple to navigate.
Cons
What frustrates me is that the automated data doesn't consistently generate correctly and on top of that, every invoice I mark as paid manually fails to display the proper payment date which is awful when I need accurate records for audits and reconciliation.

“Helpful balance overview
Pros
What I like most is seeing a clear Grand total for all upcoming payments at a glance and I appreciate that my account balance is displayed prominently at the top.
Cons
It bothers me that I cannot directly change the label in the main view to whatever description I prefer, for instance, when I want to identify which client a payment belongs to, I have to either click into the transaction or run a search to find that client's details which makes the workflow slower and less convenient.
