Great support throughout setup

Pros

I really appreciated having a project manager walk me through the whole process, he was incredibly helpful at every step.

Cons

In our company, we handle transactions to foreign countries that sometimes incur intermediary bank fees. I wish the team were a bit more familiar with these charges.

Smooth syncing that saves time

Pros

I am glad it automatically syncs invoices, vendor details and invoice payments over to Intacct.

Cons

Occasionally I have to clear my browser cache before I can access Tipalti.

Helpful automation, difficult rollout

Pros

I have discovered it offers extensive automation for handling payments which genuinely helps accelerate the whole payment workflow significantly.

Cons

We were encouraged to launch this while our NetSuite implementation was still ongoing, when in hindsight we should have delayed until after everything was stable and operational. Trying to run both deployments at the same time has been nearly impossible since testing is far simpler and more reliable with live data.

Great tool for ap management

Pros

Tipalti is user-friendly and an excellent tool for managing accounts payable.

Cons

Sometimes I notice the payment progress doesn't refresh immediately so it takes a little while before it shows as complete.

Great automation for ap

Pros

We relied on Tipalti to handle entering invoices, processing payments and onboarding vendors and it really streamlined those tasks. Tipalti automated our entire accounts payable and vendor management workflow, moving us from a very manual setup to an efficient, compliant and automated AP process.

Cons

I have noticed the platform can feel sluggish at times which ends up adding extra time to the work involved in entering invoices and making payments.

all-around payment platform

Pros

We rely on Tipalti as our primary vendor payment portal and I find it to be a powerful, well-rounded system on both the front-end and the back-end.

Cons

I wish it had an automatic payment option so I could set the schedule and have Tipalti pay vendors automatically.

Great time-saver for approvals

Pros

With Tipalti, we save a lot of time on invoice approvals because the workflow moves smoothly. Its W9 verifications are particularly helpful since we work with many foreign vendors.

Cons

I am most frustrated by the frequent downtimes, the site goes offline surprisingly often and that annoys me because sometimes I end up having to pay vendors out of pocket or our products fail to ship on time.

allows easy payment uploads

Pros

I am really impressed by how easy it is to upload payment data into the system, it streamlines everything and saves me time.

Cons

My concern is that customers are allowed to create multiple profiles without the system detecting them which then causes those accounts to become fraud review items.

Super easy vendor updates

Pros

Huge time saver for payments

Pros

It saves us a lot of time when paying vendors and I really appreciate how well it integrates with our accounting software.

Cons

We do find that the website can be sluggish occasionally which is frustrating but we understand that your team is constantly working to make it faster and better.

Compliance issues and weak matching

Pros

What I liked was that they gave our team two months free to try the platform.

Cons

Great for global onboarding

Pros

Using Tipalti as a global platform, I have noticed it lowers the hurdles when onboarding customers around the world.

Cons

I wish there were more scalable fee options especially for teams that rely on the API, I'd like to see a lower-priced tier for smaller companies.

Helpful ap automation overall

Pros

It helps automate accounts payable to a certain extent but I still need to manually review every email that arrives at our Tipalti-linked email address

Cons

it doesn't pick up non-PDF files in emails, the interface looks nice but is laggy and takes time to load and because I have to fund the Tipalti account before paying vendors I end up preparing AP batches several days in advance.

Robust but adds overhead

Pros

Tipalti is extremely thorough and highly powerful.

Cons

When dealing with non-technical payees, I see them struggle. I also notice that support doesn't engage directly with payees which I feel creates a significant amount of extra overhead.

Tipalti has been a great addition for us

Pros

Tipalti maintains an extensive database of currencies, updating any potential changes in real-time. We collaborate with numerous contractors, and I like how simple it is to generate 1099 forms.

Cons

Once an invoice is created, making edits can be quite challenging. Sometimes, it's easier to start from scratch rather than attempting edits.

ideal choice for global payments

Pros

I have noticed Tipalti offers an extensive list of currencies and any fluctuations get reflected immediately in the system. Since my team works with numerous contractors, I really appreciate how simple it is to produce 1099 forms.

Cons

When I create an invoice, I find it extremely difficult to alter it later, more often than not I end up rebuilding the whole invoice from scratch because making edits is more trouble than it's worth.

Ap workflow made incredibly easy

Pros

As Controller, I can say our AP workflow is almost entirely paper-free now. Suppliers simply send a PDF to a dedicated inbox and Tipalti pulls the invoice straight into the platform, then Accounting reviews it, assigns codes and sends it up to a manager for approval. I have full visibility into every step. My favorite part is that paying an invoice is just a single click and Tipalti handles the rest end-to-end.

Cons

About a year ago I couldn't tell why an invoice failed to sync with our ERP, there was no way to diagnose it without reaching out to Tipalti's Customer Support. In the past couple of months however, they've refined their processes and added more troubleshooting information in the app so now I can often resolve these issues myself without opening a support ticket.

Multi-entity support saves us time

Pros

We've found the multi-entity capability incredibly helpful for our accounts payable workflows. Managing several subsidiaries used to mean we went through a very manual approval chain. Since switching to Tipalti, the time it takes us to process payments has literally been cut in half which has been a huge relief.

Cons

I have run into problems with Tipalti's sync to NetSuite during our time using the platform. After an invoice is approved and initially synced, if I need to pull it back to make changes for any reason, those updates don't propagate back into NetSuite. That lack of two-way synchronization forces us to make a lot of manual fixes that really shouldn't be necessary and creates avoidable extra work.
