“Easy approvals and smart automation
Pros
The bill-approval flow is easy and fast and I like the complete audit trail for every transaction. The supplier portal lets payees handle their own company profiles and update payment information without needing us to step in. And after manually coding a few bills, I noticed Tipalti's AI and machine learning start to auto-fill fields,which saves time. They also keep improving the platform and genuinely take customer feedback into account.
Cons
We found that creating payment batches with bill credits is complicated and takes a lot of time. Some of our payees have complained that each Tipalti account has its own supplier portal so they have to remember different logins for each one. Onboarding payees was also slow as it took about eight months to get around 75% of them registered.

“Saved us from late payments with a real system for invoices
Pros
Before Tipalti, we were combing our email and crossing our fingers that we'd catch every invoice and pay on time. Spoiler. that approach led to a lot of late supplier payments and customers being unhappy. When we brought Tipalti on board, it let us put a real system in place for invoice review. we can queue invoices by due date, monitor payment progress, publish payment statuses in the portal and give everyone on the team access to one centralized source of truth. On top of that, we're now managing our own funding and foreign exchange instead of wresting with opaque forward contracts and exposure to wild rate swings. I strongly recommend Tipalti's accounts payable platform.
Cons
Although the initial implementation and switchover which happened two years ago was fairly rough and uncomfortable since then things have been very smooth. Tipalti continues to push out regular improvements and updates that have noticeably enhanced the user experience making daily tasks easier for our team.

“powerful features but dated interface
Pros
It is a single, comprehensive platform handling POs, vendors, expenses and cards, with great mobile and finance tool integrations.
Cons
From my experience adoption has been slow in certain areas particularly around cards and they only support USD for credit and virtual cards. The user interface feels outdated and can be hard to navigate so I expect more investment in UI and UX to make this product more client-friendly.

“Smooth payments and great support
Pros
It's been a year since we switched, with a few thousand transactions processed and I am really pleased with Tipalti. The direct deposit of invoices is exactly what nearly all our vendors prefer, the syncing with our accounting system is precise and customer support usually resolves issues within hours, often in just minutes.
Cons
I can hardly think of anything I dislike. When we made the switch to this software, looking back I genuinely feel we received more than what had been promised.

“So easy for our team
Pros
Using Tipalti has allowed me to set up much smoother workflows for our Accounting team. Between the bulk payment file feature, help with tracking compliance, storage and management of tax forms and payment methods and the API hooks, paying people has become significantly easier for our group. Their customer success folks are always on hand and willing to jump in when issues or questions pop up. Most of my daily work happens inside Tipalti and the overall usability makes it my go-to, it's more user-friendly and efficient than any other payment processor I have tried.
Cons
I don't have many complaints about Tipalti but if I had to pick one it would be the occasional unpredictable updates to their interface that happen with little or no advance warning. Also, I have noticed support ticket responses can sometimes be slower than expected because part of the support team is based in Israel.

“all-in-one finance platform
Pros
We've watched Tipalti expand its feature set significantly and I appreciate being able to consolidate many of our processes, AP, expense reporting, virtual credit cards and PO management, into a single platform. The user interface feels user-friendly and easy and their support team consistently responds promptly and stays on top of open tickets. There are also multicurrency capabilities that make it much easier for us to pay vendors across different countries. Our suppliers regularly log into the vendor portal to see everything in one spot they can track invoices and payments, update bank details, etc. which has cut down on the number of support requests to our AP staff and freed our team to work on higher-value initiatives.
Cons
I find the search feature pretty ineffective right now, the results rarely match what I am trying to find so we've had to develop a more manual workaround. That extra step slows things down and feels clunky compared to the rest of the product.

Pros
I am genuinely impressed with the scalability Tipalti delivers. In my experience it supports business growth by comfortably handling a rising number of transactions without any performance hits and it provides current, actionable insights into payables that help me manage large payment volumes more efficiently and make better decisions around cash flow management.
Cons
What frustrates me is the limited reporting capability. Those constraints make it hard for me to extract meaningful insights, properly track performance or meet audit requirements, for example, powerful PO summaries and purchase commitment reporting are missing or insufficient.

“Great for multi-entity payments
Pros
We rely on Tipalti across all three of our company subsidiaries that operate in different countries. Every day we get multiple invoices for each of those subsidiaries. Tipalti helps us keep all those invoices tidy and easy to find. That way we're able to process payments quickly and in the right currency. Overall it streamlines our team's weekly workflow.
Cons
Every so often we run into problems syncing our data with NetSuite.

“Love the payment scheduling
Pros
Scheduling payments is the standout feature for me because it lets us plan well in advance. The fact that vendors can see payment status cuts down on back-and-forth communication. We also had a easy implementation and the customer support team, whom I rely on daily, has been excellent. Plus Tipalti connects seamlessly with NetSuite and the product is easy to use.
Cons
Sometimes the system feels a bit sluggish and I wish they'd implement more automation to speed up the coding work, I feel they could find ways to make the development or coding processes faster overall.

“Affiliate payments made simple
Pros
Ever since we started using Tipalti's platform, onboarding, managing and paying our affiliate resellers has become at least a hundred times easier for our team, setup was fast and painless, customer support was excellent and the system has been completely rock-great in daily use.
Cons
I find that the platform is more feature-rich and therefore more complicated than what we actually need which sometimes leads to confusion for our team but because it performs the handful of tasks we required so well, I think the added complexity is a fair trade-off.

The feature I value most about Tipalti is how smoothly it handles cross-border billing. It connects to our current systems without a hitch which makes managing international payouts easy and hassle-free. Because of this tight integration, our team saves a large amount of time and effort and we can concentrate on other key parts of the business.
Cons
However one thing that could be improved is how affiliates update their billing details. Several of my affiliates have run into problems when they try to change their payment information and those hiccups can sometimes make them ineligible to be paid for a period. That has led to real frustration and payment delays so I'd like to see a simpler, more reliable process put in place to prevent these interruptions.

“One of the best payment partners

My company has partnered with Tipalti for four years now and honestly it's been one of the best choices we've made. Tipalti has streamlined our operations with a fast, reliable payment platform that has cut way down on mistakes. Every week we run about 100 payments in a single batch which frees up an enormous amount of time for our team. Our systems plug into Tipalti smoothly so payments are sent automatically and the chance of human slip-ups is basically gone. On top of that, Tipalti actively flags any name or bank-account changes that could signal fraud and contacts us to confirm before moving forward which gives me a lot of peace of mind. Our global affiliates get paid on schedule each week without fuss and whenever we do have a question Tipalti's support team responds promptly and helps us sort things out.
Cons
Initially I thought their support response times were a bit slow but honestly they've improved a lot over the years. Now the team moves quickly, is much more helpful and they resolve issues with a lot more speed and clarity.

Managing payouts for thousands of creators and clients would be impossible on a weekly cadence if we didn't have Tipalti. I find the platform easy, efficient and above all, secure. It lifts a lot of pressure off our team because clients are responsible for entering their own banking details correctly which reduces errors and follow-up work.
Cons
I find the currency conversions can be confusing and hard to calculate accurately.

What I like is that I am able to pay people in any country.
Cons
My main complaint is that it doesn't provide professional financial invoices or formal documentation for the individuals we pay. For example, when a payee needs to pull a report of their payments to support something like a major purchase, the file they can download looks like a generic Word document anyone could open on their computer. Because of that we ended up having to create and supply our own supporting documents on company letterhead. A second issue is that Tipalti doesn't issue 1099s, our previous software handled that. It's incredibly inconvenient that we must export a report and send their payment data to a third party to generate 1099s.

We've found Tipalti has really streamlined and automated the invoicing workflow for one of our products. Instead of manual steps, clients are sent a link that makes onboarding easy and processing payouts has become far simpler. All of this has noticeably increased our operational efficiency and boosted client satisfaction.

We've found the fees for sending payouts to international clients to be quite expensive.
