excellent chat-first communication

Pros

Teams has been an excellent communication tool and a really strong alternative whenever a full email just isn't needed.

Cons

Would be nice to have a few more customization options for the side panel so the layout can be arranged the way you prefer.

my daily go-to tool

Pros

It's been fantastic to use and fits into just about everything I do. I rely on it every single day, really, almost every hour, because I use it that often and keep coming back to it for pretty much everything.

Cons

There are times when the servers go down although they usually come back within an hour or so. It's not a huge issue overall but it does make communication difficult while it's unavailable.

quick meetings

Pros

Jumping into work meetings or checking messages feels very simple and the layout is simple to navigate. It also integrates nicely with other tools like email and messaging which makes staying connected much more convenient.

Cons

When the internet connection is weak, it can take quite a while to load. Video calls during team meetings may also drop or disconnect at times.

fantastic team connectivity

Pros

Using this has been really simple and the connectivity is excellent. It makes it simple to reach team members across a large organisation and overall it helps communication flow much better.

Cons

At times, while I'm in a Teams meeting, I can't chat with other people outside of that meeting. In those moments, the meeting chat is the only chat window I'm able to access.

affordable!!

Pros

Teams is widely known for being very affordable and it usually comes included with the other Microsoft products you already use which adds a lot of value.

Cons

Call quality can be inconsistent at times and I really dislike how quickly it changes your status to inactive. Also, it still has a few bugs here and there.

teams keeps us aligned

Pros

Microsoft Teams has played a big role in keeping cross-functional conversations aligned and breaking down silos between departments. I use it every day to schedule meetings, assign tasks through the Planner integration and manage document-related project work.

Cons

One challenge I've had is figuring out which updates need my attention especially when multiple threads are active across different teams at the same time.

Fairly priced

Pros

Teams has been an excellent choice for me. It's very affordable and the dashboard comes packed with really useful features that make it stand out.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into any downsides with Microsoft Teams. It has worked reliably and consistently for me over the past three years.

reliable messaging

Pros

Most of the time, it works accurately and handles sending and receiving messages without any issues. The meeting feature is really solid and the option to call people directly is a big advantage.

Cons

At times, the app can take a couple of minutes to load when the VPN is on although that seems to be more related to the internet connection than the app itself.

best for virtual collaboration

Pros

Nothing else has worked better for real-time collaboration with a group especially now that virtual work is such a normal part of everyday business.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints about Microsoft Teams. If I had to point to something, it would be that recorded meetings stay available for quite a while though I believe that's more related to how my company configured it.

fits my workflow

Pros

Teams does what I need it to do. I can keep several conversations going at once and bring additional people into a chat, whether I want to include the previous history or not. I also prefer using the app version.

Cons

Something that bothered me was needing to spend extra time adjusting the settings to get everything working properly. When I was trying to join a meeting, it took me about five minutes to realize my privacy settings were preventing my microphone from working.

clean UI

Pros

Best part is the Outlook calendar meeting invite integration which comes in really handy. The interface looks clean with a nice modern curved design and being able to pin conversations is also very useful.

Cons

The Teams and Channels feature is still confusing in terms of its purpose and how it's meant to be used. It's not very clear how it's different from regular chat or what situations it's actually best for. I also don't enjoy getting live notifications for meetings that are happening when I'm not even part of the call.

Affordable option

Pros

Out of everything I've used, this has been the best tool so far. It's very affordable and the user interface is really friendly.

Cons

At this point, I honestly don't have anything negative to say about Microsoft Teams. It has been working very well for me.

So convenient!

Pros

It really helps bring the whole company together making goals clear in a visual way while keeping everyone in constant communication.

Cons

I do wish Microsoft Teams integrated more easily with non-Microsoft products because that would make it even more useful.

all-in-one tool

Pros

Having Teams in one place for chat, meetings, file sharing and more has been a big plus. It lets us collaborate instantly with our interstate team, jump into meetings from anywhere and handle working from home without any hassle.

Cons

At times, video calls can lag especially when sharing a screen or moving quickly between different options.

outlook sync works brilliantly

Pros

Setting up meeting invites through Outlook works really well because they sync directly across everyone's calendars and people can join the meetings without hassle from any device.

Cons

File management can get a bit cluttered, with duplicates showing up across chats, groups and shared drives. It takes extra effort to keep things organized and make sure outdated files are deleted.

Dependable tool

Pros

Teams has been very dependable for me and I use it regularly to host client calls as well as team check-ins. Having everything synced with Outlook makes it much simpler to handle back-to-back meetings without any scheduling overlaps.

Cons

One issue I run into from time to time is losing track of parts of a conversation or message thread when I switch between my laptop and my phone.

excellent video quality

Pros

Video conferencing has easily been the standout feature for me. Calls come through clear, the video quality is consistently strong and the screen-sharing function is probably the best part of the whole experience.

Cons

File storage area feels pretty outdated, can be confusing to navigate at times and uploading files tends to take longer than it should.

clear calls

Pros

Really solid tool for team communication. The audio comes through crisp and clear and the real-time captioning support is a very useful addition.

Cons

At times it freezes and takes quite a while to recover. I've also noticed occasional call drops even when the internet connection is stable.

excellent free features

Pros

One thing that really works well with Teams is the free version. Even though there are paid options available, the features included at no cost are already very solid and useful.

Cons

Part I'm not a fan of is the time limit on calls in the free plan. Being restricted to 1-hour meetings feels a bit short and I'd much rather have it extended to 1.5 hours.

saves time

Pros

After moving into a new role, Teams became a much bigger part of my day-to-day work. I've been with the same company for more than five years and my first position didn't use it at all so the difference was pretty noticeable. We rely on it a lot because it helps us communicate more quickly and more often than email especially since our inboxes fill up fast. It's really useful for sending quick questions back and forth and with our open office layout, it helps us avoid calling out across the room or interrupting other people nearby.

Cons

What I'd really like is better text formatting options, like being able to use bold or highlight text. I've also run into times when the app seems to crash and when that happens, my new messages don't always appear right away.
