Trustworthy tool

Pros

It has been a really valuable tool for teachers and staff. At my school, we rely on it to stay in touch with other teachers throughout the day. It's helpful that Teams can launch automatically when I sign into my computer especially on busy mornings when I might forget to open it myself. I use it constantly to ask coworkers questions or reach the front office and the popup notifications make it hard to miss new messages. During Covid, our school also used Microsoft Teams for virtual classes and setting up my classes and getting students logged in went very well. My web camera connected without any trouble which made it possible for students to clearly see the whiteboard.

Cons

One issue I've run into with Microsoft Teams is that there seem to be multiple versions of it. Every now and then, when I log into my PC, it signs me into the wrong account so I can't see messages that were sent to me. When that happens, I have to open Teams, sign out manually and then log back into the correct account. I still haven't been able to figure out how to permanently solve that problem.

convenient to use

Pros

The interface feels polished and simple, joining meetings takes very little effort and it's really useful that information shared during meetings can be posted to everyone attending.

Cons

Can feel a little impersonal at times and it may encourage unhealthy work habits by reducing face-to-face interaction with colleagues.

Everyone loves it her

Pros

It works really well as a central place where all departments can connect and collaborate together.

Cons

When one section of a Teams sheet or a separate chat stops working, it can take a little while before everything is back up again.

faster team communication

Pros

Microsoft Teams has sped up communication a lot in our department especially since our email inboxes are already overloaded.

Cons

After the switch from the old Teams to the new version, it stopped opening automatically when I log in so I have to launch it myself. It feels more like a temporary glitch than a major problem.

collaboration hub with strong features

Pros

It has been really useful for the way it brings collaboration into one place. The video and virtual meeting options make it simple to connect with colleagues and having project or meeting-related documents stored right there is a big plus. It also includes a lot of built-in programs which makes the platform feel like a true one-stop shop for teamwork.

Cons

One thing that gets frustrating is how visible your status is and how quickly it disappears. I've also run into occasional glitches with call quality especially during video calls on Mac.

Great overall!

Pros

Teams is a really versatile product. My team relies on it for direct messaging, managing calendars and keeping track of to-do lists. Being able to communicate quickly and set up recurring tasks all within one app is behd convenient.

Cons

The search feature isn't quite as effective as it is in some other messaging apps I've used but overall that feels like a very minor complaint.

fantastic productivity integrations

Pros

The integration with the Decisions meeting minutes app, along with the other productivity features, has been a really strong part of the experience.

Cons

It works best when you already have Office365 so that's pretty much a requirement to get the most out of it.

Works well

Pros

Updated app has been a really nice improvement especially with the variety of meeting options now available. Audio and video have both been consistently stable and the added focus on reliability plus the collaborative space in the new version has been a big win.

Cons

Since the update, I've still run into a recurring issue where older attachments I receive or send sometimes won't open unless I force close the app and launch it again. I've already raised tickets with our IT team to investigate the root cause but they haven't been able to fix it internally yet.

remote teamwork made easy

Pros

Working remotely, the thing I appreciate most about MS Teams is that it still lets me connect and interact with people through a virtual platform.

Cons

At this point, I really don't have anything I dislike about the application.

so easy to setup

Pros

It covers a wide range of ways to communicate, including chat, video and audio calls, appointment scheduling and file sharing, whether I'm using it on a desktop system or the mobile app.

Cons

One frustrating issue came up during a conference call, if someone didn't answer, I couldn't end just that unanswered call. The only way to stop it from going to voicemail was to disconnect the entire conference call which disrupted the meeting.

excellent!

Pros

Being able to use it on mobile is really convenient and the interface is simple to work with. The transcription feature is also a big plus and adds a lot of value.

Cons

I don't have any major complaints especially as long as Microsoft remains the office suite in use.

A powerhouse

Pros

Nothing has improved our day-to-day work more than Teams when it comes to staying connected at any time and collaborating efficiently, no matter where employees are based. Sharing files, jumping on calls and sending messages all feel much more organized than with other tools I've used. It brings together functions that previously required three separate apps which has been a huge upgrade. The full integration with Office 365 is another big plus and makes the whole platform even more valuable.

Cons

This hasn't been an issue for me personally but I can understand how the requirement to have a Microsoft account for login might put some people off.

online school meetings work well

Pros

It's been really helpful to be able to hold my school meetings online.

all-in-one team hub

Pros

Having chat, calendar, video meetings, calls and file sharing all in one place is really convenient. It also works well for collaboration since sending files and saving them is nicely built in. Being available on PC, macOS, iOS and probably Android too makes it very convenient to stay connected wherever I am.

Cons

Compared with dedicated tools like Zoom or other chat apps some individual functions feel less flexible or are missing a few features. That seems to be the trade-off for having everything integrated in one platform. The scheduling tools in particular are quite limited.

Amazing features!

Pros

Being able to link meetings to specific Teams has been really useful and uploading or editing documents within those dedicated team spaces feels very simple.

Cons

When I set up a Team meeting and need to add one more person later, there's no simple way to send the details only to them, it sends the update to everyone again. I've also noticed that some documents don't always display quite right when opened in the desktop app especially in Word.
