user-friendly

Pros

Keeping tasks updated in real time has really helped improve efficiency especially when coordinating with team members and candidates. The platform is very user-friendly and the interface feels much better compared to other applications.

Cons

There are still a few limitations when it comes to file sharing and it can lag at times during offline work. It's also a bit challenging to quickly locate important information in team chats.

video recording is easy

Pros

One thing I really value is the meeting video recording and screen sharing. Those are easily the standout features for me.

Cons

Constant notifications, whether they show up as banners or pop-ups, get way too distracting. I'd rather they stayed as in-chat alerts, like a +1 next to the private window or group chats so it's still clear where the new messages are.

free alternative worth using

Pros

Something I really appreciate is that it's free especially when you compare it to Zoom's pricing.

Cons

Since I'm so used to Zoom, it sometimes takes me a moment to adjust when switching over.

I like it

Pros

Having free access to remote contact without worrying about cell calling limits is a big plus and the instant availability of useful tools like screen sharing to stream your own screen makes a real difference. It has been a game changer for quick everyday meetings, whether that's an artist showing progress to a client or a 30-person office running a monthly update meeting.

Cons

There are occasional disconnection issues and having to share passwords for formal meetings can be annoying but those are pretty standard problems with programs like this and not something limited to Skype.

fantastic product overall

Pros

Keeping in touch with team members is really simple and sharing files with everyone is just as simple.

Cons

The interface isn't as adaptive as I'd want which makes navigation a bit harder and keeps some features from being used as efficiently as they could be.

good experience

Pros

MS Teams is a user-friendly app with strong audio and video calling features. The real-time chat interface feels distinctive and the emojis and reactions make conversations more engaging. It also supports sharing large files and works really well within the Microsoft ecosystem.

Cons

Frequent updates can make the overall experience a bit frustrating. User activity status also doesn't refresh quickly enough and the app tends to slow down when it's used during calls or while screen sharing.

secure chats

Pros

It lets you keep text chats going, make video calls, schedule meetings and set up work teams. It's quite stable, performs really well and is simple to use.

Cons

From time to time, I've run into issues when a new version has been released for updating.

fast team communication

Pros

Every day, I rely on it for my daily meetings and it gives us solid instant communication along with video sharing. It also lets us store shared files with other users on the same team which is really useful. Notifications for messages and calls come through right away.

Cons

One issue we've run into several times is adding new users to a team. Syncing them into those groups can take quite a while and that becomes a pretty major inconvenience. On top of that, the mobile app doesn't refresh chats in real time.

recommended!

Pros

Teams has been a very versatile tool for us at school. We use it for SPED/504 documentation and each student has a dedicated channel with their files attached which makes communication and finding information much more manageable. It's also a very efficient way to stay connected with other staff members. A counselor or secretary can quickly message me to send a student to another location and that kind of instant communication really helps during the day. Having the app on my phone is also useful because I can stay updated even when I'm away from my desk. Our department uses multiple channels for different topics and we even manage Chromebook cart reservations through Teams. On top of that, it works really well for virtual meetings since setting one up and getting it started is quick. I use Teams constantly throughout the day and it has been a very positive experience overall. It serves as a central place where so many important tasks happen and without it, keeping a school this size running efficiently would be much harder.

Cons

A frustration I've run into with Teams is trying to find group chats. They don't appear under the Teams section and instead show up under "chat" or sometimes "activity." Because I receive a huge number of notifications every day, those group chats can get pushed way down the list. When I need to send something in one of them, it can take a while to track it down again. It would really help if there were a dedicated place to locate those chats more easily.

I loved it

Pros

Staying connected with the team and following the progress of work has been really convenient. We're able to share updates through calls and instant chat in Microsoft Teams which makes collaboration much easier. Another helpful feature is meeting recording since it lets us go back and review discussions later when needed. Screen sharing also makes it much more efficient to present work to the team. On top of that, Microsoft Teams includes plenty of useful features, even small touches like emojis during meetings that make communication feel more natural and engaging.

Cons

Microsoft Teams has been an excellent communication platform for our team, helping improve both collaboration and overall productivity and honestly I haven't come across anything to dislike about it.

accessible for any user

Pros

There's basically no complexity to using it, even for someone with very little experience. The functions are simple and easy to locate so getting around the software feels natural from the start.

Cons

Overall since I haven't been using it for very long, I still haven't come across any real drawbacks.

reliable overall

Pros

Since it's included with Microsoft 365, most teams are probably going to have this tool available by default anyway. Feature-wise, it does a decent job and the recent redesign has really helped make it more usable.

Cons

I feel there is bit of a learning curve because the tool is fairly opinionated about how it expects you to use it. Once you get the hang of its quirks, it works fine but getting to that point can be frustrating.

simple setup

Pros

A big advantage is how well it connects with the other products in the office suite.

Cons

The new Teams definitely looks better than the old version but glitches and bugs show up almost every day, like microphone problems, connection drops and statuses not updating properly.

suitable for everyone

Pros

Across most of our team, this has pretty much taken the place of endless email chains. Setting up group chats is simple and using channels tied to Teams groups works really well. From a support/admin perspective, it's also fairly simple to manage. One thing that helps is not allowing end users to create their own team channels, otherwise things can get cluttered fast.

Cons

If you connect a lot of third-party apps, RAM usage definitely goes up. In our case, we're working with laptops that have at least 16GB of RAM.

perfect product for teams

Pros

More than just a chat app, Microsoft Teams has become the central place our whole organization uses to access collaboration tools. We even set Teams as the organization's homepage. From inside the platform, we can open Microsoft Office files directly, including presentations, spreadsheets and other documents which makes daily work much more connected.

Cons

Only downside is that it still uses too many PC resources so performance consumption really needs to be reduced.

strong microsoft integration

Pros

Calls come through with excellent audio and video quality and the integration with Microsoft products works really well. Having both screen recording and meeting recording built in is also a big plus.

Cons

The Windows and mobile apps feel too heavy, use a lot of system resources and could definitely use better optimization.

Great tools for work and study

Pros

Whether it's for university classes or daily work, Teams covers pretty much everything I need. It includes screen sharing, shared calendars and chat messaging all in one place. I used it during online classes at university and now I rely on it at work as well.

Cons

Getting familiar with it at the beginning can take a little time. Also, the desktop app isn't free unless you have a school or work account.

nice features

Pros

One of the best parts of using Teams is how many different ways it fits into my day. I use it for quick communication with my team and it also works really well for scheduling meetings, whether they're in person or online.

Cons

Every now and then, the desktop app runs into bugs that make it harder to use. It's not something that happens all the time but when it does, it can definitely slow things down and affect productivity.

Pros

They keep rolling out new features and they genuinely help organizations improve communication between employees. It also offers plenty of space to store and share important company documents which has been very useful.

Cons

At times, finding someone to message can be tricky because you have to enter their full name very specifically.
