perfect tool for teams

A very simple tool for organizing groups, chats and meetings and it feels adaptive even for someone using it for the first time.

At the moment, I haven't come across any particular shortcomings while using the tool.

useful platform

Pros

I've been using Teams every day for about five years and it's an extremely useful tool for staying in touch with people anywhere in the world. It offers instant chat, file sharing, meetings with many participants, video calls, screen sharing, VOIP and even remote support through remote control.

Cons

That said, Microsoft Teams still has a few weak spots, such as delays in sending or receiving messages, often caused by poor password synchronization when the password is changed without restarting the app. From time to time, there can also be issues with the microphone.

feature-packed

Pros

It makes collaboration between coworkers really simple and comes packed with lots of useful features.

Cons

Still quite demanding on a computer so having plenty of RAM is pretty much ideal. That said, it feels noticeably improved compared with a few years ago.

privacy controls are good

Pros

Getting started with it is simple and there are plenty of options available to help protect employee privacy.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve though and people who are new to collaboration tools may need some time to become familiar with all the features and functions.

we use it daily

Pros

With a mix of remote and hybrid coworkers, Teams has really brought the people I work with closer together and made us feel more like an actual team. Being able to connect every day and often several times during the day, matters a lot for how we work. Between calls, chats, meetings and the other collaboration tools, it gives us exactly what we need to coordinate projects, follow up on tasks, revisit earlier conversations and keep work moving.

Cons

Every now and then when I turn on my computer, Teams does not recognize my internet connection right away so I have to restart the app before it will launch properly. I cannot tell whether that is a Teams problem or something with my computer but it is definitely frustrating when I need to jump into a last-minute meeting and end up wasting time restarting it.

fantastic for team collaboration

Pros

Our team has really benefited from having another way to communicate besides email and being able to work on the same documents at the same time is a big plus. It's especially useful when someone is working from a different location since we can all keep contributing to the same file without interrupting each other. The meeting feature works really well too, with plenty of options available and we especially love the backgrounds!

Cons

One thing that can be frustrating is locating documents since it's sometimes difficult to find what you need without a search function like the ones available in File Explorer or SharePoint.

clean interface

Pros

The interface looks polished, setup is simple and it doesn't take long at all to get comfortable using it.

Cons

It's definitely pricey. Also, compared with a standard email service some people may find it harder to use.

works so well

Pros

Getting it set up was very simple which was a big plus from the start. Online meetings work well, the interface feels adaptive and the direct integration with Microsoft Outlook is really convenient. I also appreciate being able to connect through the web version if the locally installed software crashes when launching.

Cons

Biggest downside is that the application can be slow to start up. I've also run into a few bugs here and there although nothing too serious. Setting a background can also be frustrating at times since it doesn't always work properly.

confusing desktop setup

Pros

At least the installation itself was done in no time somehow and removing Teams again also worked without any trouble.

Cons

I didnt like the lack of any real confirmation that the installation had actually succeeded. On top of that, the desktop version feels confusing, the settings are either too limited or too hard to find and both the installation guide and the user instructions are very poorly done.

fantastic support

Pros

It works really well as a communication tool and the bridge channel is especially useful when you need support.

Cons

One concern is that management can access internal conversations so there's basically no privacy.

works well with microsoft tools

Pros

Fits so nicely into the Office suite and the broader Microsoft ecosystem which makes it convenient to use.

Cons

Performance can be slow and it occasionally stops working which hurts productivity. It's also not very good outside the Windows environment.

frozen calls

Pros

Honestly, the only thing I appreciate about this program is the fact that it's blue.

Cons

Nearly every meeting ends up getting dropped, freezing or not connecting at all. I've been using another program for the last couple of years since COVID and it's been much better.

complete communication toolkit

Pros

This is the software that has really become standard in my company. I felt comfortable using it right away and it's quick to start and schedule conferences. The chat panel is simple and video calls, screen sharing and presentations are all simple to manage. On top of that, recording meetings is also available if the system administrator enables it.

Cons

Nothing to complain about, it has all the features needed to be the best communication system.

love the dark mode

Pros

One thing I really enjoy about Teams is the dark theme and I also appreciate having access to other third-party apps directly within the platform.

Cons

From my perspective, the interface design isn't particularly eye-catching but it is still convenient and simple to use.
