“Problems with navigation

Pros

I like that I can assign or check out assets to a specific individual and the system even sends that person an email when the asset is checked back in.

Cons

Using the "view all" option to browse my assets is clumsy because I have to keep scrolling and tapping "show more" across multiple pages. When I open an asset to see its details and then hit back to return to the list, it should bring me back to the exact spot I clicked from rather than jumping all the way back to the start of the asset list. I also run into an internal limitation where I can't check out an asset to someone who isn't already in the database. With multiple people having access to the program, I feel that restricting transfers between individuals a bit more would help maintain better control and accountability.

“Well-trained support team

Pros

It is cloud-based and entering data is not hard. The support team is very professional and well-trained.

Cons

I haven't discovered any drawbacks yet. Perhaps something might surface after I use it longer but up until now I haven't run into anything.

“Accessible from anywhere

Pros

Being web-based is a big plus since it lets me reach my inventory from anywhere. I also find the interface user-friendly and it packs a lot of features that I enjoy using!

Cons

There are a few capabilities I'd love to see added though I don't have any real complaints about the product right now.

“Ability to scan tags from a mobile device

Pros

We've been using it for about a year now and I've found that managing our assets has become really uncomplicated. One feature I particularly appreciate is the ability to scan tags straight from a mobile device. Our team takes iPads around the site to scan asset labels with ease.

Cons

I can't say with absolute certainty but it looks like the web client occasionally fails to refresh. Every so often we've observed that some users' information doesn't get updated properly which has caused a few inconsistencies.

“Effective product

Pros

Getting everything up and running from scratch was surprisingly simple. Before discovering this tool we had no system for tracking assets at all and it's been really effective for us.

Cons

I find the user interface somewhat clunky and the option meant to manage an asset's status doesn't always align with what our team requires. We've had to come up with workarounds to make it fit our workflows.

“Perfect for us

Pros

We were looking for something similar but wanted a register we could customize and Asset Tiger has turned out to be exactly what we needed for our setup.

“They started charging for the product

Pros

It provided a comprehensive, free solution with lots of useful features and I really valued all the functionality it offered.

Cons

I was most disappointed when they started charging for the product especially when they attempted to retroactively bill existing users who signed up while it was free. That felt very unfair.

“Well-structured interface

Pros

I really appreciate that the whole system is user-friendly and the interface is well-structured. I spent weeks experimenting with other programs, listening to sales pitches, cobbling together my own Excel spreadsheets and so forth. At one point we even considered having our IT team build a small web app.

Cons

Honestly there's not much to complain about. I'll admit that any piece of software could have little tweaks different users might prefer but in my experience this system handles everything I need.

“Outstanding asset management tool

Pros

I'm finding this to be an excellent asset management tool that gives me a lot of flexibility when building asset forms and adding various fields to store in the database. The table settings are highly adaptable too. For user management, I get strong capabilities and many choices to set up delegated control.

Cons

I wish there were more flexible reporting and dashboard features. Right now every dashboard chart is tied to asset value but I'd like the ability to switch to asset counts as well. The dashboard should offer more ways to build custom charts. All of the reports are missing multi-level filtering. It would be helpful if filters let me choose 'all' for any field I pick as a filter. Honestly I feel the reporting functionality needs significant improvement.

“Started charging retroactively

Pros

It works fairly well and I can easily export my data.

Cons

They started charging us retroactively with zero notice which felt unfair and when that happened I called and complained. They refunded the charges without any resistance because they know this practice is shady as hell.

“Useful features

Pros

For my small non-profit, this tool is really simple and user-friendly and it includes every feature we needed to tag and keep track of our equipment. It's nearly foolproof, hard to get wrong. I only stumbled on the "replicate" option today while adding several items and it's brilliant!

Cons

I haven't run into any tasks that this product can't handle so far.

“Dependable system

I find this tool really simple to use, quick in operation, consistently reliable and it reliably covers all the functions I need it to handle.

Cons

Honestly I don't have any complaints as there's nothing I can point to as a problem.

“Atered the policy without informing

I've found several useful features but I'm unsure they justify the price since it was promoted as totally free. There weren't any notes explaining it would only be free if you bought a certain number of labels. It claimed to be completely free when I initially signed up.

Cons

When I discovered this tool it was promoted as free forever if you wanted it. Then at some point they altered the policy and didn't inform me or warn me. So now they're asking for payment . Because I signed up when it was promoted as free forever, you should grandfather those of us who decided to try the product.

“Cost-effective option

Pros

I'm pleased with it because it's affordable and cloud-based. I find it stores useful information to keep track of.

Cons

Would be nicer if it offered a bit more flexibility and allowed me more customization options.

“Brilliant customer service

Pros

Asset management with this software is something I like although I'm not sure I love it. There are so many choices that I grow weary browsing them. Customer support is wonderful and I just call whenever I have a question.

Cons

Reporting falls short. As a numbers person, I prefer to examine reports in a million different formats and views regularly.

“Flexible reporting

I really appreciate how many different ways I can sort and display our assets because it makes pulling reports so simple and flexible depending on what specific information I'm trying to see.

Cons

As a new startup, we really wish the system let us check out equipment at the same time we're adding a new asset. Right now we have to create dozens of items and then separately go back to check them out which is time-consuming. It would be much more efficient to handle both tasks on a single screen so we don't have to bounce between pages.

I'm using it because it's practical, easy to use and free.

Cons

However the structure only has two tiers, site and location so I can't dig any deeper into the hierarchy.

For me, this has been a great inventory-tracking service that keeps every relevant detail consolidated in the cloud. I find it very user-friendly.

Cons

I haven't really come across any downsides. It performs smoothly on my PC, tablet and smartphone and I think it's particularly simple to manage for a single-site organization.

As a video department within a major state institution, we've transformed how we record and track all our production equipment. There were numerous moving parts before and now we have a single system that manages and organizes everything for us.

Honestly I can't think of any drawbacks so far.

Pros

I've been searching for software like this for a long time. It seems to cover everything I need. I'm only just getting started with it so I'm still learning the ropes but it promises to handle A to Z of asset management.

I'd really appreciate having check-in and check-out support with a barcode scanner. Please add this feature.
