I can't think of anything I truly dislike about it. If there's one improvement I'd love to see, it would be a more efficient calendar view for board meeting events, plus the option to create other board-related activities (not just board meetings) that also show up in the same calendar and can be filtered. That would help board members track everything relevant to their governance responsibilities in one place.

Runs well on a centralised platform and is fully paperless. It can set up agendas, generate board packs, run votes, capture minutes in real time and handle action items by assigning owners and sending reminders as work progresses. It also stores all related files in one place and anyone assigned to an action can update their progress before the meeting.

So I checked the Play Store and there still isn't an Android phone app for it.. so it's not really usable on the go when I'm away from my laptop or tablet.

Whenever I've needed assistance, their support has been basically immediate and genuinely helpful, with clear step-by-step guidance that gets me through whatever task is in front of me.

Cons

There aren't any real deal-breakers for me. I've run it for two very different organisations and it's worked well for both, even with their differing processes. The only minor thing is that there's a small learning curve at the start and it can sometimes feel like you're writing notes twice. That said, they've made small improvements over time and I've gotten better at capturing the right details the first time.

So easy to use this software. Bookmarks work reliably and I can highlight specific parts while also adding comments on the same sections. Navigating through the content feels manageable too... I can move back easily and jump around to Bookmarks quickly.

Getting backward navigation down takes a bit of getting used to at first. Also, the magnification feature can feel a little awkward to control until you're more familiar with it.

During the checking phase, I keep having to switch back and forth between the agenda and the board pack. Also, once a draft version is ready, downloading and reviewing the full pack isn't quite as user friendly as it could be.

Secure sign-in... fast navigation to folders, the timeline layout with a clear meeting record, and compared with other governance tools, it doesn't push constant upgrades. It also lets you store documents across a range of folders which keeps things neatly organised.

Cons

Once my access setup was sorted... especially the fact that I use different email addresses for separate directorships and operational roles, I stopped needing admin staff to send links to the meeting papers. After getting that sorted, I can log into each organisation directly.

It runs efficiently and makes sure every member gets updated when the agenda or meeting pack changes. All it takes is a single click on the publish button and the right people are informed right away.

Cons

No real complaints here. The platform feels solid overall, if anything, it would be helpful to include something like MS Teams, style video conferencing so attendees can join remotely or meetings can be recorded.

BoardPro really delivers strong value for the money and it's easy to use day to day. The free training webinars are a big bonus too which has made it a solid fit for our charity's needs.

Tracking down older documents and specific details can be a hassle. The search function isn't always user friendly and it's especially difficult to locate old minutes-topic/word-based searching doesn't work as well as you'd hope.

Creating agendas and uploading documents feels easy and I'm also a big fan of the "flying minutes" feature. On top of that, the option to set up board-only folders is really handy for keeping content organized.

Cons

Search works pretty well, it can scan document titles across the whole site or find keywords inside a specific board pack. That said, I'd still like a true master search that can also look for keywords within the documents themselves.

Because it is a more technical platform, not everyone has the same level of tech confidence and I've occasionally run into access issues. To be fair, that's more about the learning curve than the product itself but it's been my experience.

Genuinely love tha app, it is so easy to use. It handles the setup of agendas and the capturing of minutes for you which saves a lot of time. It also gave our board a clear structure and a repeatable workflow and that's made sharing the board pack much easier.

Wish we'd brought it in sooner, trying to manage meetings and agendas from scratch without it ends up costing more time than it saves.
