“brilliant autocorrect”

Pros

Grammarly's autocorrect is genuinely brilliant. Most of the time, it seems to understand exactly what you're trying to say and fixes things like punctuation, prepositions and other small mistakes really well. One feature I've appreciated a lot is that it can be enabled on almost any web page while you're reading or writing and that turns out to be incredibly helpful. At work especially when sending emails to someone senior like a manager, there's always that worry about making a silly mistake. Grammarly really helps take that stress away.

Cons

A part that gets annoying at times is the editor where you can write documents directly. It can behave strangely now and then, for example, I'm sometimes unable to move to a new line or when I accept one of Grammarly's corrections, it changes back to the original text again.

Pros

One thing I appreciate about Grammarly is that it's completely free to use. It helps me fix my writing mistakes and has been useful on my system through the browser plugin I installed. Whenever I type something wrong, it highlights the word in red and suggests the correct option when I hover the mouse over it. It also helps improve sentence tense and the support for an MS Office plugin makes it even more convenient.

Cons

At times, it marks words as incorrect even when they are actually right but aside from that, it is still a very useful tool to have.

Starting out in the next phase of my online business as a freelance writer, I quickly hit a point where I felt I wasn't quite meeting my clients' expectations. Since English isn't my first language, that self-doubt made sense but every problem has a fix. Grammarly ended up saving what felt like a freelance writing career that was heading downhill. Since I began using it, I no longer worry so much about whether clients will accept my content. It catches grammar mistakes I would never notice on my own, including the hidden ones. If your writing is meant for other people to read, Grammarly is definitely worth getting. There are other tools that do similar things, of course but this one still feels like the best to me.

Cons

My only real complaint is that when Grammarly is turned on in Microsoft Word, I'm not able to use the undo function properly.

As a writing assistant, Grammarly has been the most useful tool I've used for catching grammar and writing mistakes especially as a non-native English speaker. It comes with a wide range of features and works across nearly every platform whichmakes it even more practical. The browser extension and the MS Word add-on are particularly useful and the Grammarly keyboard on iOS helps a lot with everyday writing tasks.

Cons

Even though the features are genuinely useful, there's still plenty of room for improvement. The browser extension hasn't worked reliably on many occasions and I've had to fix things multiple times myself. The pricing also feels a bit expensive. Also, the algorithm still needs a lot of refinement since it's far from perfect in many situations.

Grammarly has been a really dependable writing assistant for me. Its biggest strength is how well it catches mistakes in grammar, tense and other writing issues. It feels like one of the most reliable tools out there for anyone who needs polished English especially when creating business content where error-free and convincing writing really matters. The plagiarism checker is also very strong and does a better job than many other free and paid tools I've tried. Also, it suggests better words and phrases that can make the writing more effective and engaging. Another useful part is how flexible it is to use. The browser extension installs quickly and works across major browsers like Chrome and Mozilla whichmakes it convenient while writing online. There's also a desktop app for PC, plus an MS Office plugin that can be integrated to improve content written in other applications. I also like that documents can be saved directly inside Grammarly and edited there without needing another app.

One issue I've noticed is that Grammarly sometimes recommends changes that are actually incorrect. There have been plenty of times when my original sentence was right but the suggested edit didn't make sense at all. I also think the algorithm still needs improvement when it comes to identifying punctuation mistakes more accurately.

It didn't take long for me to get used to Grammarly being part of everything I write especially since I mostly use the plugin. One of the biggest benefits is how unobtrusive it is, I hardly notice it's running but the difference it makes is enormous. I write a lot for work, from emails to content pieces and Grammarly catches mistakes that stand ard spellcheck and grammar tools usually miss. It's practical, convenient and honestly feels essential at this point.

Cons

The only real drawback I've run into is the small green/red icon that sits in the corner of a text box. In some situations especially when I'm editing land ing pages with smaller text fields, it can get in the way a bit. In every other case, I'm happy to have it there because it alerts me when something needs attention in my writing. It's really just those less common situations where the plugin becomes a little intrusive.

Having Grammarly feels like having an editor on hand all the time and even strong writers benefit from that. Whether I'm working on a letter, email, blog article, website copy or anything else, it catches mistakes I would have missed on my own. Misspellings, punctuation problems, passive voice, incorrect tense, it flags all of it. I also really appreciate being able to choose goal settings for each document inside Grammarly based on tone, formality, audience and similar preferences becausethe suggestions adjust accordingly. It also recommends synonyms and points out extra words that don't need to be there. Another big plus is how many ways you can use it: desktop app for local work, a web version that keeps the same documents, browser extensions for online writing and even a mobile keyboard app for editing on your phone whichis where a lot of little mistakes usually happen. After only two days of using the phone keyboard, it had already caught plenty of typos in my texts and emails. One feature I especially enjoy is how it notices repeated words and offers synonym suggestions right there soI don't have to stop and search elsewhere. I had known about Grammarly for a long time and now I can't believe I waited this long to try it. I started on the free plan and upgraded to paid within a day because it felt completely worth it. At this point, I wouldn't publish anything on my website, send a detailed email or even post on social media without checking it through Grammarly first.

Cons

Biggest surprise for me was finding out that, despite all the useful features and add-ons, the Microsoft Word add-in is not available for Mac users. That was a real letdown because I was excited to use it there especially since I think it does a better job than Word's built-in spelling and grammar checker. Hopefully that changes. Another limitation is that when it highlights something like passive voice, the warning itself is useful but it's not always very adaptive about how to fix short phrases and doesn't consistently suggest better alternatives for those kinds of 2-3 word rewrites. In those cases, I either leave it alone or end up looking elsewhere for help. Also, not really a drawback but still worth mentioning: this tool isn't designed for SEO writing. It's best seen as a spelling, grammar and punctuation editor rather than something built for search optimization.

One frustrating part came up when I upgraded to Pro because the offer felt like a bait-and -switch click funnel. I used a promo they emailed me and assumed the price covered the full year but the fine print showed it was only for one month. I reached out to customer service and while they were polite, they didn't really address the issue with the ad campaign. I still use the software every day and like it a lot but now I'm selective about when I pay for Pro whichI actually don't mind because it means I'm not locked into that version for an entire year.

Right away, the distraction-free editor on the website became my favorite part of using it. It helps me stay locked in on the content without unnecessary clutter getting in the way. Honestly Grammarly feels so dominant in this space that it is hard to think of another tool that delivers the same level of satisfaction. It is one of those products people enjoy using so much that they do not even bother looking for alternatives.

Every now and then, Grammarly in text boxes can interfere with how a web form works. When that happens, using the Chrome extension toggle to disable it is a simple workaround. The other issue is that, while it is excellent at catching mistakes, it can be a little too aggressive at times. It occasionally pushes changes to phrases that are already correct as they are. Still, it seems like the team is aware of this and is already making improvements to refine the error detection.

Having Grammarly around feels like keeping a dependable second pair of eyes on every piece of writing. People miss things and small typos can slip through no matter how careful someone is. Even a very attentive copyeditor can overlook a repeated article or the wrong homonym now and then. Our team uses Grammarly to catch those little mistakes and it's especially useful when we need to edit something quickly or make changes under serious time pressure.

A few of the style recommendations miss the mark especially when colloquial language is involved sothey are not always that useful. Still, that's a fairly small issue overall. Grammarly is not a replacement for a copyeditor but it does a very good job of helping the editor be even more accurate.

“outlook integration is fantastic”

Pros

After trying Ginger and WhiteSmoke as well, Grammarly still comes across as the best online grammar checker. It's quicker, more efficient and also more budget-friendly. The feature I appreciate most is how well it connects with MS Outlook. Before this, I used to draft emails in Word just to proofread them first but once I started using Grammarly inside Outlook, hand ling emails became much more convenient. I'm really pleased that our company gave us access to it.

Cons

It feels almost magical overall but its Outlook integration does have an occasional downside. Sometimes when I click on New Email, Outlook becomes unresponsive for a few seconds and I have to wait briefly before it starts working again.

Grammarly has become part of my daily routine, mostly because of the Chrome extension. It's even catching grammar issues while I'm typing this. I also rely on it a lot for emails and everyday social media posts. The fact that it works across browser extensions, MS Word add-ins and desktop apps makes it really convenient. On the Grammarly Business side, the administrative tools are my favorite since they let you monitor the team and manage subscriptions while everyone still gets the full Grammarly Premium experience.

The only downside I've run into is the occasional bug. It doesn't happen often but there are times when Grammarly misses mistakes or just doesn't work properly on a certain platform.

Honestly there is very little to complain about with this tool. That said, if you plan to use it regularly, the paid version is the better option. The free version can be frustrating because it keeps pushing premium features and frequently reminds you about what you are missing. That constant upselling gets annoying after a while. Also, while the free plan hand les basic mistakes very well, it often flags additional issues in your writing without letting you fix them unless you upgrade to premium.

It has become something I rely on every time I write in English and at this point I can hardly picture writing without it. I'm even using it right now and it has already caught and fixed a few mistakes I made while typing too quickly. Since English is not my native language, it feels essential for business emails, conversations and really any kind of writing. It clearly points out the mistakes and with a single click it corrects them automatically. I also appreciate that it explains why something is wrong and what the grammatically correct version should be. That not only fixes the text in the moment but also helps improve my English over time so I make fewer mistakes later on.

Cons

Something that bothers me is that the Chrome extension does not work properly on certain pages. It could be due to compatibility with a specific website or perhaps another extension I have installed but it can be pretty frustrating at times. When I click on a word to apply a correction and then keep typing, it sometimes removes part of what was just corrected. That means I have to go back and fix the same mistakes again. It is not a major problem but it is definitely annoying if I forget that this happens. I really hope this gets resolved in a future update.

Compared with Microsoft Word and similar tools, Grammarly has been an outstand ing editor and easily the best automated editing platform I've used. It performs really well for checking articles and important documents any time of day whichmakes it feel worth having on hand . It is definitely on the pricier side but that's pretty much expected for a business-level product that's available 24/7 and consistently delivers solid editing support.

Cons

Even with how strong Grammarly Business is, I still wouldn't rely on it alone for truly important documents. A skilled human editor is still necessary to review things like style, punctuation and other finer details. That said, Grammarly works very well as a self-editing tool and is especially useful when you want to improve your writing skills or give your work an extra check before sending it out.

I added Grammarly as a Google Chrome extension and the setup took only a few seconds. Not long after, I was already recommending it to my coworkers. Another thing I appreciated is the profile feature whichlets you monitor your progress by showing your most frequent mistakes and the percentage breakdown for grammar, punctuation, spelling and style soyou know exactly what needs more attention. Signing in is convenient too since you can use your Facebook account instead of creating a separate profile. It works well across devices and on the web and it's just as useful for writing emails as it is for social media posts. I also like that you can choose between American, British, Australian and Canadian English. Also, there are three plans available, free, premium and business so it's simple to pick the one that suits your needs best.

One downside is that the email and newsletter communication is very frequent. After a while it started to feel a bit overwhelming soI ended up unsubscribing.

Installing it is simple since it works as a Chrome add-on or with other browsers you prefer. It still catches something in probably 90% of the emails I write. Built-in document editor tools can help but this is especially useful for online webmail and similar places.

Now and then, it does miss something. You also have to update it and sign in again once in a while but that feels pretty stand ard and not really much of a downside.
