i really liked my CMIC experince
Pros

The best thing about CMiC is the availability of integrated project management in the construction industry.

Cons

Implementing CMiC can be quite expensive, especially for smaller construction companies with limited budgets. The initial setup cost, ongoing maintenance fees, and training expenses may present financial challenges.

Great value & functionality if done right
Pros

It serves as a fully integrated single source of truth with the modules necessary for my tasks. Its incredibly powerful when planned and set up well, along with having an experienced internal resource to manage it.

Cons

The user interface could be improved but there are ample controls to tidy it up if you're familiar with them. The system is extensive and powerful, requiring years to master the controls and backend. Its worth investing in an experienced internal resource to gain the necessary knowledge before starting implementation. Attempting to fix the system later can be time-consuming and costly.

Lifesaver but with steep learning curve.
Pros

The CMiC software contains a huge number of tools. Because of this, the user experience is improved by the softwares capability for project teams to operate there simultaneously. This is helpful when you have a lot of subcontractors or project team members who all need to look at the same papers.

Cons

CMiC is a very useful tool but can also be a downer sometimes. To properly master the software, new users need to be ready to invest a significant amount of time studying all of its ins and outs.

CMiC Integration to Paycom
Pros

We are currently transitioning from CMiC to Paycom for Payroll and HR functions in the 4th quarter. I am seeking input from anyone who has gone through this integration. We have numerous questions and are struggling to find help in resolving certain Paycom issues.

Cons

I have decided to stick with CMiC for all our construction needs although we are shifting payroll and HR to Paycom.

The best integrated contract management tools, very suitable for construction projects
Pros

When utilizing a workflow management system like CMiC it ensures everyone is on the same page making it easier for them to contribute. The software can be customized to meet specific business requirements and plays a crucial role in coordinating team work. All project related documents such as subcontractor contracts, drawings, material requests, job requests, pour permits and change orders can be managed through one system. Thanks to CMiC, our project database is organized, ensuring no data is lost and information is readily accessible.

Cons

Personally I didn't encounter any issues while using CMiC. it was simple to comprehend and utilize for all project disciplines.

Works but lacks any real support
Pros

During the initial setup CMiC was in its prime. Many construction companies of our size were eager to have a similar solution.

Cons

The current CMiC version seems somewhat neglected. Its hard to obtain support for cases and lacks significant feature updates when they are released.

There are MUCH better options out there.............. did someone say PROCORE ?
Pros

Unfortunately based on my 4 years of daily use I have no positive feedback about this software.

Cons

Its very complicated for simple procedures. The same information has to be manually entered on every line of the same project. There are far too many drop down menus for inputting a basic value. It's not remotely user-friendly, and no cells are auto-populated. Everything must be entered multiple times, resulting in a significant waste of time.

CMiC - new user review
Pros

I like the results that can be achieved once all the data is entered. Although we have only been using the software for around 6 months the data entry process is quite extensive. We have obtained some valuable data so far but it has been time consuming.

Cons

We introduced CMiC in our company it was the replacement of QuickBooks in our department. We have had to request customizations from CMiC such as making estimates. While I don't believe its an ideal replacement for tasks like estimates, we are managing to make it work. Theres talk of reintroducing QuickBooks for certain functions.

CMiC - Finally were Mobile
Pros

I love the Mobile Field app for our field users. It has a clean and straightforward interface that continues to improve. The drawings management module is excellent, surpassing anything we have used in the past especially when it comes to tracking different versions of drawings.

Cons

Honestly some of the things I wanted to "complain" about at the User Conference this year are already being addressed by CMiC. However I still think the placement of certain features doesn't quite make sense, but they are making progress. Additionally I wish I had more control over the appearance and generation of reports.

Single Source of Truth
Pros

The single database has immense power and provides an excellent platform for reporting and queries. With a wide range of modules availabl we have the flexibility to keep most of our processes within a single platform and minimize the need for integrations.

Cons

As a complex system it has an intricate backend. Patches can sometimes cause unexpected issues that don't arise during testing due to the numerous customer use cases for this particular software.

Pros

Tough to use but gets the job done
Pros

The softwares greatest strength lies in its wide range of abilities particularly in handling project finances.

Cons

Its tough to learn and use with many nuances and occasional unreliability. Recently I discovered that when I mark the overall COR as approved or cancelled, it doesn't automatically update all the associated costs. Its not a major failure but instances like this make it difficult to trust the software.

CMiC Review
Pros

I use CMiC for all my projects and what I like most is the ability to organize different projects and involve all relevant subcontractors. Being able to manage change orders between the owner, the GC and the subcontractors ensures smooth project execution. Additionally it helps me track what's in progress, pending and completed.

Cons

What bothers me the most is that CMiC software is overly sensitive. There are issues with forecasting when a change order or potential change item is posted which can impact the budget and its accuracy.

CMiC
Pros

CMiC has made key contributions to our organization by providing a powerful and scalable infrastructure that promotes collaboration, stores all our data and documents in one central location and offers excellent reporting capabilities for data analysis. It has greatly improved our companys ability to collaborate and share information, eliminating the need for tedious searching through files or making multiple calls. The reports generated by CMiC play a crucial role in our decision making and overall success. My tip for success is to thoroughly review and understand the settings for each module to enhance the CMiC experience. Do not guess the settings; consider recording the training sessions with your CMiC implementation team for future reference. Feel free to ask questions and join CMUG, the CMiC users group as they provide valuable forums, monthly calls, demos and assistance.

Cons

The implementation process can be lengthy. The distribution and segregation of software settings across multiple locations make system management and issue troubleshooting a bit challenging. Having a central control panel would greatly enhance user friendliness.

Pros

Pros

There is not much I like about this program but if I had to choose something I would say I appreciate the ease of rearranging lists based on factors like chronology, company, specifications etc

Pros

CMiC encompasses a vast array of tools within the software. The ability for project teams to collaborate simultaneously enhances the user experience especially when multiple subcontractors and project team members need to access the same documents.

Cons

Outdated interface
Pros

CMiC can be your all in one solution for construction management. It can integrate all aspects of a project into a single program, offering convenience and the reports can be interconnected to share input and information.

Cons

Like most software for collecting and sorting mass data the user interface could use some improvement. Searching for items and generating reports can be cumbersome and not always intuitive. One issue is the limited customization options for reports. I found it easier to export the raw data to Excel and create my own reports and sorting functions to meet the analysis needs of my managers.

Pros

It combines project management, accounting and other elements into one platform with a single login. Thats basically it.

Cons

The system is extremely slow to the point where you can hear the clock ticking as the loading circle rotates. It is hard to follow and inconsistent in its terminology. The owner billing module is painfully slow and lacks basic filtering or shortcut features. The list of issues could go on and on.

FRUSTRATING!!!!
Pros

Its a robust system with powerful features and capabilities, but it requires a significant investment.

Cons

The implementation leadership is terrible. Its an expensive system that requires more resources than the company claims. Consulting and in house resources are needed in abundance. The base products information output is useless and requires external resources and training to build useful information tools for running your business. Getting a response from the implementation team is a challenge and the company lacks quality assurance for its product, leaving you to perform quality assurance on their behalf.

Pros

The softwares best feature is the ability to work on accounting, data entry, uploads and processing and then seamlessly transition to a workflow where upper management can approve invoices before processing payments. It was a long road, but we are finally seeing a ROI
Pros

We are using the cloud-based version and its going smoothly. Since it is a new version, it is regularly updated and improved. The support team is easily accessible and friendly. We usually get the same person which is fantastic because they are familiar with our setup.

Cons

The implementation process was tedious, time consuming and somewhat painful. We initially thought we set things up correctly but we had to make numerous corrections since then. Setting up accruals should be simple but it has taken a long time and the calculations are still incorrect. Customization options are limited and obtaining a custom report is expensive and time consuming.
