“Affordable but tricky to use
Pros
I had to do a lot of training both during and after we set it up. I didn't need to use Procore for managing subcontracts because CMIC already has that built in.
Cons
I don't find this tool user-friendly at all. You really need a lot of help to learn how to use it because it's hard to use. It feels pretty messy and isn't very well organized.

“Expensive but overall good experience with CMiC
Pros
The best thing about CMiC for me personally is the availability of integrated project management in the construction industry.
Cons
Let me tell you that implementing CMiC can get pretty expensive, especially if you're a smaller construction company with a tight budget. The setup process, ongoing maintenance costs and training fees increase the cost a lot and might become a financial challenge.

“Offers great value & functionality if set up correctly
Pros
I must say that CMiC serves as a fully integrated one-stop-solution with the modules needed for my tasks. Plus, its incredibly powerful when planned and set up well, along with an experienced internal resource to manage it.
Cons
The user interface is not the best and needs improvement. However there are multiple controls to clean it up if you're familiar with them. Remember the system is extensive and very powerful requiring years to master the controls and backend. I will say its worth investing in an experienced internal resource to get the necessary knowledge before starting operations. Its because trying to fix the system later can be both time-consuming and costly.

“Extremely helpful but requires effort to learn
Pros
The CMiC software have multiple useful tools. Because of this, our experience as a user is going great. The software allows project teams to operate everything simultaneously. This is really helpful when you have a lot of subcontractors or project team members who all need to look at the same papers.
Cons
Even though CMiC is a very useful tool but it can also be a downer sometimes. So to master the software, new users need be ready to invest a lot of time studying all of its ins and outs.

“Integrating CMiC with Paycom is not easy
Pros
We are currently transitioning from CMiC to Paycom for Payroll and HR functions in the 4th quarter. I am seeking help from anyone who has gone through this integration. As we have multiple questions and are struggling to find help in resolving certain Paycom issues.
Cons
I have decided to stick with CMiC for all our construction needs although we are shifting payroll and HR to Paycom.

“Integrated contract management tools make it a good fit for construction projects
Pros
When using a workflow management software like CMiC it makes sure everyone is on the same page which makes it easier for everyone to contribute. Also the software can be customized to meet specific business requirements of ours and plays a key role in coordinating teamwork. As all project related documents such as subcontractor contracts, drawings, material requests, job requests, pour permits and change orders can be managed through one system. Thanks to CMiC, our project database is well organized and we do not have to worry about losing data. Plus all the information is easily accessible whenever required.
Cons
Personally I did not come across any sort of issues while using CMiC. I find it easy to learn and use for all project disciplines.

“It works ok but do not get your hopes high
Pros
During the setup process of CMiC was on its prime. And many construction companies like ours were looking for similar solution.
Cons
It feels like the current CMiC version is forgotten by the manufacturers. Like it is hard to get support for cases and lacks major feature updates when they are released.

“Honestly way better options are available out there….........
Pros
Unfortunately I have nothing positive to say about this software and this feedback is based based on my 4 years of daily use. PROCORE is probably much more better than this.
Cons
It is not the best for simple procedures as it is quite complicated. Moreover the same information has to be manually entered on every line of the same project which is annoying. Plus, there are far too many drop down menus for inputting a basic value. It's not remotely user-friendly and no cells are auto-populated. Everything must be entered multiple times and result of it is we end up wasting a lot of time.

“First impression as a new user
Pros
I like the results I get once all the data is entered. Even though we have been using this software for around 6 months only and the data entry process is quite a lot. And yes we have gotten some valuable data so far but all this takes a lot of time of ours.
Cons
When we introduced CMiC in our company it was introduced as the replacement of QuickBooks. It has a few things missing which we have had to get customized from CMiC such as making estimates. And I don't believe it is an ideal choice or replacement for tasks like estimates but we are trying to make it work. Honestly we are planning to get back to QuickBooks for certain functions.

“Running into issues often
Pros
Gets the job done but problems arise while we attempt to integrate it with other programs.
Cons
I often face problems of different kinds especially with the integration. Also the software lacks basic payroll options like gross to net calculations. And at times the system modules fail to communicate with each other.

“Mobile Field app makes CMiC our fav
Pros
I love the Mobile Field app for our field users. It has a clean and simple interface and is getting better day by day. The drawings management module is excellent, far better than anything we have used in the past mainly for tracking different versions of drawings.
Cons
Honestly there were a few things I wanted to COMPLAIN about at the User Conference this year but they are already been addressed by CMiC. However, I still think certain available features don't really make sense but they are making progress so I am not taking that too seriously. Additionally, I wish I had more control over the appearance and generation of reports.

“One stop solution for construction management
Pros
The single database is quite powerful and provides an excellent platform for reporting and queries of any kind. Plus with a wide range of modules available we have the flexibility to keep most of our processes within a single platform and minimize the need for integrations.
Cons
As it is a huge system, it has a really complex backend. Patches can sometimes cause unexpected issues that don't arise during testing due to the numerous customer use cases for this particular software.

“Better than other platforms but not sans issues
Pros
CMiC customization options is something that sets this all in one program apart from others we used before.
Cons
The double entry requirements, user setup difficulties and the complexity of configuring jobs cause a lot of issues for us.

“Offers essential customization options but its very time taking
Pros
The interface is very much customizable to suit the individual needs of our team.
Cons
Navigation is not as easy as we expected and most of our time is spent customizing the software rather than using it to produce results.

“Average software
Pros
There are multiple options and functions available. Also it allows us to integrate various aspects of construction from RFIs to submittals, billing, and more.
Cons
It is very confusing to use and difficult to explain to other users of our team. Even simple procedures require multiple steps to get results, which should be simpler.

“Complex but it gets the job done
Pros
One thing I like the most about CMiC is its wide range of capabilities and the way it help us in managing project finances.
Cons
Its not easy to learn or use, a lot of nuances and it is not reliable at all. Recently I came to know that when I mark the overall COR as approved or cancelled, it doesn't automatically update all the associated costs. Even though it is not a major failure but cases like this make it difficult to trust the software.

“Good but outdated
Pros
CMiC is the only software I have ever used for project management. And I really like that with the help of it I have everything in one place from documents to invoicing.
Cons
CMiC software looks a bit outdated and can be glitchy at times. Plus to find something I need I have to click multiple times through different screens which annoys me.

“Good software
Pros
The program is user friendly and fairly easy to navigate for us. It also works well with the Textura Payment Processing program.
Cons
Its very very slow and certain functions don't work properly which causes frustration mainly when my thoughts are faster than the program's speed and reports.

“Go-to software for all our projects...
Pros
I use CMiC for all my projects and the best part is how easy it is to organize everything and keep track of all the subcontractors. Plus managing change orders between the owner, GC and subcontractors really helps me run the project smoothly. Plus, I can easily see what is in progress, what is pending and what is already done.
Cons
What bothers me the most is that CMiC software is overly sensitive. Plus there are issues with forecasting when a change order or potential change item is posted which impacts the budget and its accuracy.
