It's user friendly once I got used to it.

Pros

The accounts receivable (AR) section is much more user friendly compared to our previous software. I really like the customized reports that CMiC can generate using Power BI.

Cons

Patience is required. Once you overcome the trial and error phase of customizing the system to your needs, it becomes a worthwhile investment.

End user only, but have found software difficult to use

Pros

It allows subcontractors to access project information such as submittals, RFIs, etc.

Cons

Its challenging to navigate and upload information. There have been several instances where RFIs and Submittals submitted through CMiC were not processed correctly.

I use CMiC daily for managing money associated with construction projects.

Pros

The feature I appreciate most about using CMiC is how easily accessible all the relevant information for my project is within the program. Contracts are stored and financial reports can be collected with a simple click of a button.

Cons

If you are new to the program it can be difficult to utilize right from the start. Getting started with CMiC and navigating through it is not the easiest task. However the program is quite powerful and contains a wealth of information.

Manage and manage your Project with this Solid Tool.

Pros

We use CMiC in my organization for consistent project administration. It allows us to stay informed about all project details thanks to its variety of tools and the technical support is excellent. It provides detailed expense information, cost tracking, quotes and has a reliable and solid system. Highly recommended.

Cons

Its crucial to have a fast computer since the software tends to run a bit slow. The cost can be expensive depending on the organizations needs. Before acquiring it, its important to understand the waiting time and potential expenses involved.

System offers many capabilities however is slow and kicks you out often

Pros

Running reports and querying data is easy and it is more efficient in certain areas compared to our previous software. It also allows us to upload images, which improves paper efficiency.

Cons

The system is very slow especially after 3:30. It can be unforgiving sometimes kicking you out during data entry and not allowing you to view the previous screen in certain areas.

Sometimes I feel that there are too many navigational panes options.

Pros

The detailed job cost reports and the option to explore further details are what I really like thw most. Its cost effective.

Cons

As someone who has used both Procore and CMIC I found CMIC to be more time consuming to navigate through and understand.

Good Value

Pros

I have been using CMiC for years, and it has been a valuable project management and payroll software. The connection between the software and our database is immediate, and we haven't encountered any issues.

Cons

The software has a learning curve but once I got past that phase, it made everything much more convenient.

I use CMIC every day.

Pros

Once I understood the product it became effortless to use. The functionality is highly beneficial for large construction companies.

Cons

When I copy and paste from Word documents I notice upside down question marks. Additionally the Java sections appear a bit outdated.

It was a long road, but we are finally seeing a ROI

Pros

We are using the cloud-based version and its going smoothly. Since it is a new version, it is regularly updated and improved. The support team is easily accessible and friendly. We usually get the same person which is fantastic because they are familiar with our setup.

Cons

The implementation process was tedious, time consuming and somewhat painful. We initially thought we set things up correctly but we had to make numerous corrections since then. Setting up accruals should be simple but it has taken a long time and the calculations are still incorrect. Customization options are limited and obtaining a custom report is expensive and time consuming.

Decent project management suite that offers the ability to build out and create items for your org.

Pros

It excels in reporting and compiling information. Its adaptable, allowing customization to suit our organizations needs. It also integrates well with our current software and third party systems.

Cons

The user experience and interface are lacking and seem outdated. It requires financial investment to develop the software according to specific needs and there have been limited advancements in research and development.

Terrrible, not worth the headache.

Pros

This is one of the most poorly implemented programs forced upon the construction field side and I have nothing positive to say about it.

Cons

The interface feels like its from 1985 and it frequently crashes causing work to be reset and progress lost. Its not easy to update or search for RFIs, ASIs, or general information. Completing daily tasks on this platform is a painful experience. Sometimes, it fails to send out documents despite indicating that it has leading to significant disputes regarding contract documents. It feels like a project management program forced upon field supervision without providing much assistance.

Construction accounting and management software that includes all aspects of the business

Pros

I like that this software despite its simple appearance and old school interface includes all the necessary features to get the job done.

Cons

There are occasional glitches where inputted data is not saved forcing you to redo the entire process after recalculating and expecting the finished product.

A large construction firm I worked with implemented CMiC and we were very happy.

Pros

The integration with our existing accounting system worked seamlessly. I can easily submit and track payment requests through the system.

Cons

The graphical user interface may not be the most visually appealing but I believe that functionality is more important than aesthetics in the end.

overkill for a sub contractor

Pros

If you are looking for a comprehensive software solution this is an excellent tool for your business. It covers all departments.

Cons

It is quite a lot to handle for a subcontractor. The price and features are not designed for small to medium sized businesses. This software is more suitable for larger companies.

CMiC has it's perks

Pros

Everything is cloud based allowing us to access to files and projects from anywhere without restrictions. This enables work to be done at any time.

Cons

The system can be slow at times possibly due to internet speed. It still has some bugs that are being addressed.

It is a great product!

Pros

It helps me keep everything organized in one place. I can manage meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals and billing efficiently.

Cons

There are instances where it takes a while for updates to take effect after clicking on them. It could be related to internet speed, although its not entirely to blame.

CMIC is powerful and a key find but be careful

Pros

CMiC is an impressive product with a wide range of features and functionality. It can scale to accommodate a large number of users and remains stable. It also has the capability to integrate with some of our key platforms.

Cons

Where there are advantage there are also some drawbacks or difficulties you came across. The implementation process typically takes at least six months sometimes close to a year due to configuration and training requirements. Custom requests and ongoing support rely heavily on the CMIC team. Its essential to ensure that your business truly needs this enterprise application and that thorough research has been conducted to align everyones expectations. It can provide significant value for large general contractors, but smaller construction companies or specialty trades may encounter challenges.
