As a new user I have found that once you understand how the system works, the process is similar regardless of the area you're working in.
Cons
There is a lot of detailed information to figure out just to get started. Its difficult to anticipate how entering something will impact other areas.

Pros
I have been using CMiC for three months and I appreciate how it seamlessly connects all the components of my projects. As a Project Manager for a Real Estate Developer in South Florida I find the cost status query option particularly useful for inputting change orders even if they have not been posted yet. I also value the secure login and the ability to link multiple projects to one dashboard. Lastly the feature that allows us to attach backup files to change orders or subcontract tabs is very helpful.
Cons
Overall I really enjoy using the software. But I feel like It would be even better if it could integrate with Outlook allowing emails on my Mac to be automatically uploaded into the communications folder.

“Integrated Accounting and Project Managment Solution
Pros
The integrated platform provided by CMiC for our accounting and operations personnel without the need for custom built integrations, was the primary reason we switched from Viewpoint. It also provides a unified database for real time data analytics through our BI applications.
Cons
Managing the environment (patch testing, hot fixes, and bugs) can be a complex process.

Pros
We have been using CMiC for two years now and although the implementation was challenging at first. However now it has become an excellent communication tool between our field and office employees. The financial enhancements have benefited both field and office employees when tracking project costs. The investment of time and money in implementing CMiC has been worthwhile.
Cons
Editing and changing certain report formats can be time consuming and expensive. Support response times are sometimes slow and it can be challenging to reach someone for assistance.

Pros
We love the ability to link invoices directly to subcontracts/changes. It makes it easy to identify overbilling and see what is approved or not. The accounting reports are much clearer than our previous system.
Cons
It would be great if we could send I/O emails from other programs like PCI or Subcontracts. Additionally the placement of save/close/accept buttons changes frequently which can be confusing.

Pros
As a construction business we have specific needs and protocols to follow and CMiC offers the perfect solution. It provides us with the necessary tools for project management and allows easy customization and addition of our own modules. It is Highly customizable, Numerous shortcuts and consistent navigation within the software and The development team consistently delivers new and innovative solutions.
Cons
Currently we are only talking about two technologies. "Forms" is outdated and not well adapted to the latest computing protocols. Although "ADF" seems appealing it still has unresolved issues.

Pros
As the Contracts Administrator for Gramoll Construction Company I rely heavily on this program for various purposes. Once I became familiar with its functionalities I found it essential (and panic inducing when it's down!). The support available is excellent, and the customer service always goes above and beyond with their friendly and helpful assistance. Overall I am extremely pleased with this software and the updates are fantastic.
Cons
I wish there were more readily available training resources. There are numerous functions that I am sure I am not utilizing fully and I often find myself struggling to understand their purpose and functionality.

CMiC greatly facilitates collaboration and data sharing within our company. While the setup process was lengthy with CMiCs help, we were able to tailor it to our needs. The reporting capabilities are the most critical aspect for us as we can access our data and generate real time reports and analysis. CMiC has made a significant contribution to our organization by providing a powerful and scalable infrastructure for collaboration, centralizing our data and offering excellent reporting capabilities.
Cons
The distribution and segregation of software settings across multiple locations make it difficult to manage the system and troubleshoot issues. Having a central control panel would greatly enhance usability.

We are still in the process of implementing the software but so far we are satisfied with its performance. We are currently using it at a basic level and plan to explore more advanced features as we progress.
Cons
Viewing pictures from daily diaries is a confusing process. It would be helpful to have a native picture viewer with thumbnails for easy sorting and viewing.

Pros
What I admire about CMiC are three key aspects are Firstly it serves as an all inclusive solution, encompassing accounting, field operations, safety and document control, all within a unified platform. (I hope the mobile functionality enhances this feature.) Secondly it is specifically designed to cater to the fundamental functions of a general contractor, with a seamless workflow. And thirdly it is evident that the software consistently undergoes improvements, keeping pace with technological advancements.
Cons
The inflexibility and restricted nature of the reporting functionality are prominent. Currently, I'm working with MIP but I hope to gain access to Oracle or Jasper reporting tools soon to personalize reports. The data entry process in JSP feels a bit captive, requiring several steps like hitting "edit," making modifications, and then saving.

Having used CMiC for 16 years I have witnessed its remarkable evolution over time. I keenly anticipate transitioning to the ADF platform next year. Whenever I encounter any issues with the system, CMiC promptly responds to my queries. Additionally the Connect User Conference is a major highlight.
Cons
The Submittal process in CMiC Collab is not user intuitive and poses difficulties for new users. There is a wealth of functionality that remains unknown to users.

As a Field Superintendent I find it effortless to create basic daily reports which serve as a valuable historical resource. CMiCs submittal logs are also user-friendly and highly beneficial. Three aspects I particularly enjoy about the software are the ability to track past events the user friendly interface of the daily log and the capability to determine the number of workers for each trade on any given day.

Pros
Regarding Business Process Integration the Job Billing module has proven to be fantastic in my experience. We have the flexibility to customize contracts and bills according to our users specific requirements with only a few limitations on change order options. Gord's enthusiasm and CMiCs continuous innovation to meet user expectations are commendable. They strive to ensure that users don't have to seek alternative software for tasks they believe CMiC cannot accomplish. The introduction of mobile and business intelligence features has prevented us from exploring other options.
Cons
Overall the performance and speed are a bit slow. Although we have BI in our DEV environment it is still in the process of becoming truly useful. I'm eagerly anticipating further developments and enhancements.

Although there are some duplicated components in the submittal logs, CMiCs tutorials assist in simplifying the more challenging aspects of the software. I appreciate its user friendly nature, particularly for beginners who are new to the software. It is also highly adaptable, and the softwares organization facilitates seamless navigation across different sections.

There are some issues across different sections and the abundance of information within each section can be overwhelming. It can be slightly irritating to save after every step.
