Good Work Keep it up!

Pros

Overall CMiC fulfills our needs. In the 11 years I have been using it I have witnessed significant improvements and I appreciate the direction it is heading in. Once all the minor issues are resolved in the ADF it will be a fantastic replacement for the old Forms screens. I believe the JSP screens could benefit from a facelift and the mobile functionality is contributing to that. Despite some quirks, CMiC is my favorite construction ERP system, having used a few others.

Cons

It is important to invest time in understanding the reasons behind the system's actions. Once the "why" is comprehended determining the appropriate process becomes easier. Sometimes making minor adjustments to processes can significantly improve how things are done and enhance the overall workflow within the system.

Beck's CMiC Experience

Pros

Beck has been utilizing CMiC Enterprise and PM for many years. We highly value the integrated database, robust financial and job costing features and the ability to customize when necessary.

Cons

Its important to fully commit and embrace the systems capabilities to make necessary improvements. If you remain partially committed and continue using other systems it is when frustration will increase.

Overall very pleased with the software

Pros

We have been using CMiC for over 3 years now and it has proven to be an excellent fit for our construction company. Once properly set up the system is very intuitive. The reports run smoothly and can be easily converted to Excel or PDF.

Cons

Updates occur frequently but there are occasional issues with running reports when needed. Investing time and resources in the initial setup is worthwhile and won't be regretted.

Exceeds needs

Pros

CMiC has been very convenient and user friendly for us. The ease of use and exceptional service made choosing CMiC an easy decision for us.

Cons

At times it is not clear how to select trades so I recommend taking the time to thoroughly learn the system before diving in.

made a huge workflow difference

Pros

Honestly this program is so simple and easy to use. It has made a huge difference in my daily workflow. I can draft contracts in about half the time it took me with our old system which frees me up to focus on other important tasks. Such a relief to have tools that actually work the way you need them to.

Cons

I understand that updates are necessary but I really don't like when an update runs and disrupts some of my documents mid-work.

Well laid out

Pros

I'm really impressed with this software as everything is so neatly organized that I never struggle to find what I need. It's super easy to locate files and I genuinely appreciate how clean and thoughtful the layout is. There are so many things I can do with it yet it never feels cluttered.

Cons

It can feel pretty overwhelming when you don't understand its purpose. If I were going to use this regularly I'd make sure someone gave me a walkthrough so I know how the different functions operate.

Amazing concept

Pros

I really appreciate the concept behind this product and the direction it's headed. Once integrations are perfectly smooth, I genuinely think it could rank among the top offerings out there and I find it convenient.

Cons

However basic features that should work simply fail. I'm aware their technical support team must be overwhelmed because of this but these issues still change the way I rely on and use the product today.

Simple once you get the hang of it

Pros

Once I got the hang of it I found it simple to handle. The learning curve is gentle and totally worth it. Now everything flows naturally and I can get things done without overthinking.

Cons

I wish the custom reporting features were less limited and offered more flexibility.

centralized solution

Pros

It is a centralized enterprise platform that consolidates Finance, HR, CRM, workflow and project management into a single system. The collaboration tools let our team connect with every project participant from anywhere at any time and it links to apps like PlanGrid and DocuSign.

Cons

What frustrates me is that some updates remove features we've depended on. Also they don't include complimentary training when they roll out new versions which makes me reluctant to move to the latest releases.

Convenient so far

Pros

At this stage we're still undergoing training so it's hard to say how things will translate once we go live. Up to now I find the program quite simple to learn.

Cons

I find uploading budgets a bit tricky at the moment although I'm confident it will get easier once we start using it regularly.

I like that it ties together Accounting, Human Resources/Payroll and Project Management and it supports collaboration with both internal and external project team members.

Cons

Pulling data into reports isn't always simple and requesting changes or enhancements can often feel like a slow, tedious process.

responsive team

Pros

Overall the people who work at CMiC are awesome and I genuinely appreciate how helpful they are. I especially want to shout out Paul in sales and Chet in support, those two stand out as especially solid individuals who immediately come to mind. The ECM Plug-In is fantastic, I'd say that one feature alone justifies choosing CMiC. Their support team tends to be very responsive when problems pop up. There are a TON of features and capabilities and I like that CMiC pushes updates frequently, it makes me feel reassured they're committed to supporting clients and improving the product.
