This Program Sucks
Pros

This program is really dreadful. I've had a terrible experience with it and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at all.

Cons

Everything about this system is terrible. The customer service is a joke. My program kept crashing every time I tried to run a report. I opened a ticket on November 12, and as of December 27, no one has contacted me. I've called their support at least six times, waiting on hold for nearly 30 minutes each time. Save your money and go for a different system. This one is awful.

Very Poor Technical Support
Pros

The technical support was extremely poor, which made the overall experience quite frustrating from my IT perspective. If you can't get proper assistance with installing the product, it's hard to develop a positive opinion about it.

Cons

The technical support is very poor and responds very slowly to requests. When they finally did get back to me, I asked for an estimate of the time it would take to help me with the installation. I had a case number, but instead of providing the estimate, they closed my case for lack of response. They also mentioned it would take 4 to 6 weeks before receiving help with my installation, which is unacceptable.

10 years in Procontractor
Pros

I've become quite fond of Procontractor. I quickly mastered it and now frequently get calls asking for advice. I've also started using Spectrum, another product from Viewpoint, but I still firmly prefer Procontractor above all else!

Cons

The time it takes for certain reports to run is frustrating when you host your own server. I've noticed that it runs much faster with the cloud.

This software is unstable garbage.
Pros

I handle all my estimating using Excel. I can manually write purchase orders faster than dealing with your frustrating software.

Cons

Your software is trying to be everything to everyone and ends up being nothing to no one. Your estimating module is weak. I have to manually print each PO, which takes at least 9 clicks. Brilliant design, folks. I could estimate 20 times faster 25 years ago. It's also slow and unstable. Support is a joke. As soon as I can, you'll be in my rearview mirror.

Pros

The software is reasonably easy to use. Customer service was quite helpful in guiding us through the transition from our previous estimating program.

There are some pretty simple features missing that could be added.

Horrible
Pros

This has been a horrible experience. I regret not doing more research and reading additional reviews before investing so much money in such a poor program.

Cons

We pay extra for ProContractor mobile, and everything about these two modules is awful. My payroll is 100 times harder because nothing imports correctly or fully. The app glitches constantly and needs to be deleted and reinstalled. I can't open plans in the field that are supposed to be viewable. ProContractor itself is not intuitive at all, and the reports are generally unhelpful.

Stay Away!
Pros

This has been a nightmare! It's nothing but a constant headache. Customer support has been completely worthless. I really wish we had not purchased this program.

Cons

It constantly malfunctions and doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Support is a joke, and they rarely fix the issues, let alone return emails.

Easy of use
Pros

The product is relatively simple to use. Ruttura relies on it for Earthwork and concrete estimating tasks.

Cons

There are very minor issues. In the estimating program, we can't go "back" if we digitize a line incorrectly or in the wrong direction. Aside from that, we really have no other issues.

Pros

Entering journal entries is quite easy. The software automatically generates a Work in Progress (WIP) report.

Cons

Reports either have too little information or too much. I find myself checking several reports to make sure I have the right info. Also, tracking and fixing errors is very hard. This is not a simple or intuitive software. There are many things we should have been trained on but didn't think to ask about, like month and year-end journal entries.

Procontractor Review #1
Pros

I really enjoy using Procontractor; it's easy to work with and meets my needs effectively.

Cons

Sometimes it's easy to use, but billing could be easier. Instead of just adjusting an entry, it would be better if it could be deleted. Also, when entering a change order, it would be helpful if line items that have already been billed out could be deleted.

Overall a good program but could use a couple fixes
Pros

When ProContractor functions as it should and all integrations work properly, it proves to be a very useful program. Its capability to store all invoices within the system helps in quickly locating them. The software offers a comprehensive set of options for all team departments, making it very effective.

Cons

Since the last update, there have been glitches in the payment section and errors in calculations with no clear reason when running union reports. If these issues were fixed and everything worked as it should, ProContractor would be worth the money spent.

Implementation and Training
Pros

I'm still waiting for a response, and it's been several days already!!!

Cons

Before migrating to the cloud, I worked with various aspects of ProContractor. During the decision to migrate, I discovered many features we weren't using. We were excited about starting each project correctly and the ease of moving through the program's sectors. After migrating, I found that support for both training and technical issues is not a priority for Trimble. We've experienced signed-up training sessions that never happen, no response to requests, and waiting over seven hours for tech support to respond to tickets.

Estimation
Pros

We are able to provide our estimates and review previous projects to enhance our approach for future ones.

Cons

There's a lack of feature updates. Currently, it's cloud-hosted, and we're forced to use it as a remote app. It would be better if it didn't need the remote app connection.

It will do for now
Pros

ProContractor has been instrumental in helping us understand the material quantities needed for our projects, which is fantastic for job budgeting. Even though it has some limitations, it gives us a solid foundation for planning Earthwork projects.

Cons

The annual subscription price seems very lopsided now. It used to be much more reasonable, but in recent years, the price hikes don't seem justifiable. The product has only slightly changed over the years, but the price keeps increasing, especially after being forced to use digital plans instead of digitizer boards. With the owners retiring and selling in a few years, it's the only reason we're not exploring other options.

Accounting Software
Pros

The software operates very well, and the support provided is outstanding. Having worked with many construction accounting programs, this one stands out as one of the best. Setting up projects is easy and efficient.

Cons

customer service is horrible.
Pros

I've been using Procontractor since 2003, and not much has changed over the years. It's a great piece of software if you're fortunate enough to receive any support.

Cons

Customer service is terrible. When there's an issue, it takes days, weeks, or even months to get a call back. When they do call, they just set up another case, and you wait some more. I was down for three months due to errors in ProContractor. It's ridiculously expensive.
