simple with easy RFI and submittal tracking

Pros

I'm really impressed by how simple it is to use. Tracking RFIs and submittals is easy and helps our project team stay organized and on schedule. I also appreciate that when the project schedule changes, updates get pushed out to the entire team, that's a huge help.

Cons

There are far too many update emails. It feels like a notification is sent for every single action that's completed. My team also doesn't use any of the project's cost-tracking features.

Lets me communicate with staff members

Pros

The software is really user-friendly and I haven't run into any problems while using it. I can quickly communicate with fellow staff members through it which makes coordination simpler.

Cons

I feel the training videos could be shortened a bit and the review questions should better match the actual test that's given.

Well-structured app

Pros

As a subcontractor I really appreciate the way this app is structured because it prevents important information from getting buried in email threads. The push notifications that tell me when items are uploaded and when they're reviewed are also extremely useful.

Cons

When the GC/project team and admins don't configure the settings to match how I want them, there are gaps in notifications or other issues that can cause items to be overlooked or ignored. It would be really helpful if I could change my own notification preferences and settings directly.

integrates well with other tools

Pros

I've found it to be exceptionally easy to use across the board which I genuinely appreciate. The way it integrates with other software and the responsiveness of their customer support combine to make it a top-tier product.

Cons

That said it still shows limitations in specific features for example pulling contacts from the directory can be problematic.

Wide variety of features

Pros

It's feature set is impressive especially the built-in submittal builder. It lets me overlay content on pages which comes in handy whenever we have to update the drawing pages.

Cons

I think it's a solid tool but I run into shortcomings such as limited customization options and the inability to create sub-folders within the photo tool.

Practical and effective

Pros

I'm impressed by how easy it is to use. It's a practical, efficient tool that serves everyone involved from owners and design teams to general contractors and subcontractors alike.

Cons

Getting all stakeholders to actually use Procore is a struggle in practice we only tap into roughly 25% of its features which feels like a lot of untapped potential.

Allows me to add links

Pros

Working in construction I consider it an exceptional tool for any project type. I most appreciate that it lets me add links to images we upload, aiding our bidding process.

Cons

I discovered it takes some time to learn the tool and new hires struggled to use it without extra guidance.

convenient construction tools

Pros

The construction tools are simple and highly practical to use in daily workflows. What I appreciate most are it's drawing and Punchlist tools which simplified the tracking process.

Cons

Wish they'd add more customizable features and options so our team can configure and manage the platform exactly the way we need it for our workflows.

Everything stored in one place

Pros

I've come to rely on the Drawings tab and the Submittal Manager. Having RFIs, specs, punch lists and everything else stored together makes managing projects so much simpler.

Cons

Using the mobile app is handy for viewing documents but I get frustrated that I can't move submittals forward. I wish I could review and advance them directly from my phone.

Helps me organize drawings

Pros

Really appreciate how it helps me organize drawings while keeping submittal and RFI tracking simple.

Cons

I need a way to sync GC accounts with subcontractors' accounts and I can't currently create submittals from within the app.

centralized solution

Pros

I love having a single place to organize all project data since before this tool we didn't have any standard.

Cons

Honestly the time card part needs basic improvements because it still forces me to spend far too much time logging my hours every week.

Mobile-friendly product

Pros

As a user I appreciate that it is mobile-friendly and easy to use. I can access it from anywhere, there's plenty of training resources and it makes managing projects feel effortless.

Cons

The price is a big downside as it's expensive, the number of projects you can manage is capped unless you buy more slots and most add-ons cost extra as well.

suited for our industry

Pros

Working in construction, I find the program is truly customized for our industry and its workflow management plus tracking capabilities are consistently accurate and reliable.

Cons

I've noticed that when I upload certain files the permissions don't always carry over which can lead to occasional visibility problems for other users.

Pros

I find it really simple to handle. It's user-friendly and helps me and my team stay organized and productive.

Cons

Sometimes I can only use it when I have an internet connection and in remote spots my phone or hotspot won't provide reliable access.

Visually appealing interface

Pros

The interface really appeals to me, it's clean and user-friendly. I also find it excellent at keeping project documents orderly, whether it's drawings, submittals, RFIs or sketches. On top of that, I love how simple it is to pull together reports. I can generate them in just a few clicks without fuss.

Cons

At times theres a bit of lag when I filter information using the Submittal and RFI tags. It doesn't happen all the time but switching options in those pulldown menus can take around 3-4 seconds which feels sluggish when I'm trying to move through items quickly.

simple to get the hang of

Pros

It is quite user-friendly. Most people can pick up how to operate and move around the site within their first few visits.

Cons

I'm still getting comfortable with the budgeting features and figuring out how they fit with the way our projects have been structured over the past several years.

constantly evolving

Pros

We automatically distribute our RFIs and IRNs to every subcontractor we work with.

Cons

It constantly evolves which makes it tough to keep up especially when some subcontractors aren't as comfortable with technology as others. That creates a lot of confusion until the whole team accepts the system and learns how it works.

Tracks the whole process

Pros

I really like the platform overall and how it can track almost everything happening from preconstruction through post-construction. The UI feels simple and user-friendly and lets people operate in one system all day, every day. Any functionality they don't build in is usually available via integrations which make it easy to transfer information from another program into Procore.

Cons

The sheer range of features can also be a drawback. Several product areas haven't seen major updates or overhauls in quite a long time.
