Our Thoughts

Choosing the appropriate software for your business’s needs can be an understandably grueling task. Procore is my first and last choice when it comes to construction.

September 2022

Architecture & Planning

Pros:
I must admit that I first opposed my company's decision to utilize Procore. I was essentially forced to learn how to use it as it became a more frequently used tool by contractors on my projects. In the end, the features that worry me the most as an architect—such as tracking RFIs and submittals, making personalized logs, and monitoring field issues—have me reasonably satisfied. Since they were also utilizing Procore for accounting, the general contractors in each case handled the majority of the setup work. It's also incredibly useful to be able to keep track of drawing updates and modifications.
Cons:
It is still a little bit of a hassle, but I'm still delighted to use this software to make the contractor's life easier. When trying to build something straightforward, like an "Open RFI" template to utilize for meetings, there can occasionally seem to be too many options. In addition, the program's design for meeting minutes is, to put it mildly, trash. The application is obviously designed with the contractor in mind; the CA process on the part of the design team seems to have been almost entirely neglected. At my most recent job, I had to collaborate with the GC and Procore to set up the right RFI and submittal routing so things wouldn't sit around and get behind schedule.

The most flexible project management software.

Pros:
Procore has given us a great deal of flexibility in project management, and we've been able to avoid a lot of the mistakes we used to make while setting up the project's numerous submission tables. You may filter shop drawings logs or RFI logs, for example, using Procore in a few easy steps, find out the status of the topic you're looking for, and follow up with other members by notifying them. In fact, it streamlines a number of processes and constantly monitors all tasks and project activities. The most reliable reports are created by Procore since they encompass all project management functions, display the general status of the project's business and completion percentages with graphs and tables, cover all financial issues, and much more.
Cons:
There’s not much to say when it comes to pointing out the bad stuff in Procore. While that being said, the software does introduce some complexity due to its offerings and if you don’t have a properly trained team, you’d end up losing money. All in all, Procore is excellent for contracting projects, and there aren't many drawbacks or technological issues because it is cloud-connected and has a fantastic user experience.

Procore: the perfect all-rounder for construction project management.

Pros:
I personally love using Procore since it has an agile development team that continuously enhances their product based on in-depth analytics and feedback from actual customers. Procore is a product that incorporates all the essential capabilities required for project management in the built environment. Furthermore, the solution supports industry best practices for building project management, which, according to experts, is unquestionably advantageous for proactively controlling risk. Most significantly, Procore gives us the ability to better serve our clients by storing crucial project information in a reliable system.
Cons:
What I dislike is that Procore is still a highly challenging tool for onboarding new staff despite having comprehensive multimedia training materials. Additionally, the Procore marketing materials did not accurately portray the costs associated with implementing Procore across the whole organization.

Procore really revolutionized our workflow.

Pros:
I've worked on single and multi-family homes, mixed-use buildings, affordable multi-family housing, and commercial construction projects. Procore has been excellent on all types of projects. Daily Logs are simple to complete and can be emailed to the right people. As a result, they are more accurate because they actually get the job done. Adding pictures to the logs is also fairly simple. You can add links to images on your drawing set using Procore. This is especially useful when we send out bid packages since it allows potential contractors to view additional information and the current state of our business remodeling projects. Procore's Reports feature makes it simple to keep track of everything if you need to send out numerous requests for bids. There’s a lot more, but it’s safe to say that I love using Procore.
Cons:
I wish the markup tool could be used for more things, though. It would be wonderful to have features that are included in simple takeoff software. It would be beneficial if there was some simple way to place a dot that was color-coded. The current system looks quite harsh, but I have no doubt that they'll improve it.

Procore is my favorite when it comes to cloud-based construction projects.

Pros:
The construction management solutions offered by Procore are practical and simple. It enables me to assign submittals to subcontractors so that they are aware of precisely what is required and when it is expected. The ability of the submittal tool to assign submittals to subcontractors so that they are aware of what is required and when it is expected by And the ability of the Punch List tool to streamline the tracking process and even pinpoint each item to a specific location on the drawings are some of the best features that come to mind.
Cons:
Procore-generated emails frequently tend to be ignored, which I think has to do with how generic they are. As an example, if I am a subcontractor sitting at my computer and I receive a Procore message, I have no idea if it is a request for submittals, a request for bids, or an update to the drawings. There is a certain way things need to be done with Procore, which gets frustrating quickly since you cannot change all the ways work is done in your company. And if you try to change things to match how your business operates, you risk breaking parts of the software's automated capabilities. The markup choices for the drawing tool are excellent but inconsistent.

The only software you will ever need for construction management.

Pros:
As a planning manager, the accurate preservation and documentation of all project records is one of my critical responsibilities. Thanks to Procore, I was able to learn the status of those documents and whether they had been approved or not. This made it easier for me to perform my duties, particularly when it came to creating time claims. Many of the issues were fixed by Procore, so there was no longer a need to send them to the clients. This decreased downtime and favorably impacted the percentage of task completion. I can comfortably claim that this is the most intuitive multi-tasking platform I have used that can handle all project requirements and will enable the project team to manage all project documents and keep track of their status.
Cons:
My employees had to undergo training spanning many days so that they could learn how to modify some models and tools to meet project requirements. The advantages of Procore for organizing projects, particularly construction projects, exceed any drawbacks, and learning how to use the platform's features will give you the power to finish all of your tasks there swiftly and effectively.

The best virtual toolbox for construction management out there.

Pros:
We had been really hesitant about investing in the software we were going to implement in our business for the first time. After all, it is a substantial investment, not just a straightforward free app, and should be treated as such. This package, which is intended for construction professionals, offers a comprehensive way to manage numerous projects involving numerous individuals and teams, including architects, designers, and subcontractors.
Cons:
The only really frustrating aspect is that only the browser version, not the app, offers access to company-level data (such as visibility across projects, individual "open items" lists, and financials).

Procore is my only recommendation when it comes to communication and organization.

Construction

Pros:
Procore has enabled us to maintain a single source of information and ensure that all project stakeholders use the same data. I can glance at the complete history of communications, including information supplied to our clients and information requested in return. It is crucial for both designers and contractors. We can also control and allow access to anyone we like, so that they feel more involved in the project.
Cons:
I haven’t met with many people using Procore, so it can be challenging to obtain total commitment. Individuals inside and outside my organization have been skeptical at best, especially in the beginning. Everyone can see its benefit in the long run, but getting there has been difficult.

Amazing for big construction business

Construction

Pros:
Setting up workflows to automate tasks is a life saver. We can allow our clients access to our data with whatever limit we want.
Cons:
It is too pricey for small businesses. They should add more customizations so that some expensive features can be dropped to stay within the budget.

The best cloud-based construction management software on the market.

July 2022

Anu S.

Construction

Pros:
My main priority was to get a cloud-based system since we have recently expanded beyond our city and can’t keep records in all our offices separately. Procore is one of the top cloud-based systems for managing construction projects and exactly what I've been looking for. It can coordinate all activities very well, save project data, and give project stakeholders the ability to collaborate and track every aspect with pinpoint accuracy. The most important feature of Procore is that it gives us an integrated system and procedures that enable us to make sure that all tasks are accomplished correctly, including the process of producing reports and other paperwork. In order to prevent distribution delays and hiccups on the job site, it also enabled us to keep track of all documents, reports, and their status.
Cons:
It takes a lot of work to use it successfully, and I don't believe we can achieve success unless we thoroughly instruct the team and other project collaborators on how to use all of the features. It's important to note that Procore provides customer support and integrated training sessions to aid us in understanding how all of the tools function and how to use them efficiently.

Procore: My lifesaver.

July 2022

Constriction

Pros:
I've utilized Procore in the past when I was a subcontractor and even now as a general contractor. It maintains relevant documents in a single location with no size limitations. It can be used offline as well. My office and the project can be miles apart at times, and I may look at the same documents while speaking on the phone with my superintendent and discussing the issue. RFIs and submissions can be processed in a day. Owners can be added to the system with restricted access to reports and images. I recall a project that went bad and required me to go through depositions years after the job was finished. Printouts of emails or daily reports, photographs, etc., served as the only form of documentation. I believe I would have performed much better if all of my records had been arranged according to the Procore system and structure.
Cons:
Due to its complexity, Procore requires some time and training to adapt and master. Like any other programme, it is only as good as the information and data that are uploaded. The hardest people for me to initially convince to join me are the architects and engineers. since they had a lot of paperwork already set-up elsewhere. In the end, most of them wonder why they were so hesitant once they were on board.

Best option for project management

Pros:
We have had great help from their customer support and it's arguably the best document and project management software currently in the market.
Cons:
Bidding/estimating is not up to the mark but I know they are quick to respond to customer complaints so I'm hopeful it will be resolved soon.

What made it easy for me is that most of my contractors use this software. It has made communication easy and effective.
Cons:
Just a little bit of training required to properly use this.

It will help you gain better insights in to your construction business

July 2022

Jason G.

Construction

Pros:
You can thoroughly look in to problem areas and quickly make corrective decisions. It enables you to plan across your entire organization rather than on project to project basis.
Cons:
You may need to hire a Procore specialist as we did. Otherwise it may get expensive to operate if you don't know how to get the best ROI.

Experience as a mid-size contractor

Pros:
Strong project management tools do allow team collaboration on issues and a lot of bits and pieces of construction progress is collected in the first place that helps a lot. Sync with Microsoft Project schedules is a time-saver.
Cons:
An accounting hurdle we faced ended up being that way for months since we couldn't get through to a support rep.
