5.0

Responsive support

Pros

I really like all the features and how the platform consolidates so many tools into a single place. It ties together much of the documentation needed to run a project and the mobile app keeps everything handy at my fingertips. I also find the customer support truly outstanding and responsive.

Cons

Sometimes the web version and the mobile app don't have the same capabilities which I find frustrating because it can make certain tasks harder to complete when I switch between devices.

cool drawing tool

Pros

It brings the entire construction workflow into one spot. Typically everything is scattered across different places but the drawing tool is nice and keeps me viewing the most up-to-date plans.

Cons

Lately I've noticed it's painfully slow at times and the back button often kicks me out of a filtered search which really bugs me because I have to reapply filters every time.

What I really appreciate is that this platform focuses specifically on the construction industry.

Boosts field productivity

Pros

I really like how this platform manages project planning, boosts field productivity and most importantly keeps all the financials organized for me.

Cons

Honestly I can't think of any complaints. For my daily operations it covers everything from routine tasks to complex workflows.

customizable solution

Pros

I consider it a single, all-encompassing platform that supports a project from kickoff through closeout. Beyond the core project management tools like bidding, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes and similar items, I really appreciate its Quality Control features like Inspections and Observations which become essential as work moves forward. Being able to tailor adjust the inputs and outputs is vital to my workflow and Procore includes those customization options.

Cons

If I had to pick a downside, it's how frequently the platform gets updated. Because it is cloud-based, those constant updates actually benefit me by keeping the toolset modern but I sometimes find the pace of change a bit relentless even though the improvements are welcome.

keeps improving

Pros

As a user I've seen it continually roll out improvements and updates to their platform. I find the system handles nearly every aspect of a project.

Cons

I notice there are multiple project types and different ways to log data so I'd love the ability to customize tools which unfortunately isn't offered right now.

not sufficient for handling accounting

Pros

Powerful project management features like contact management per job organized submittal and RFI workflows and approval routing make communication on mobile devices really simple. I also appreciate that it syncs with Microsoft Project schedules, that saves a lot of time and lets me see updated project timelines in calendar views. On the support side, the live chat was genuinely useful and the Procore tutorials helped me learn the features. Another thing I relied on was the document upload capability. The platform often detects drawing page references and automatically labels them when saving.

Cons

It wasn't sufficient for handling accounting on its own and I ran into problems because it doesn't transfer data to or from QuickBooks desktop versions, even with Procore connectors advertised. As a result, our accounting staff had to duplicate work and manually revise prime contracts which was frustrating. Also, the accounting side barely interacts with the project management module so our team struggled to understand what phase a job was in and there wasn't a simple way to produce budget forecasts. Many of our people found the navigation clunky and not very user-friendly which slowed adoption. When we hit a major snag with the accounting features, getting a knowledgeable support person on the line took months which compounded the pain. Frankly, if it offered a more flexible subscription letting us use only the project management tools without paying for accounting features we couldn't deploy, I would have been more inclined to keep our subscription longer.

Drawings and reports just a click away

Pros

As a field manager, having drawings, specifications, submittals and test reports available on my device at all times means I no longer have to run back to the office trailer and flip through stacks of pages.

Cons

One feature I'd really like is the ability to upload videos in addition to photos. We've run into occasional issues when moving information back and forth with Sage but a lot of those snags have turned out to be operator error.

Wide range of useful capabilities

Pros

It provides a wide range of useful capabilities. I can access it easily from my computer, tablet or phone and I appreciate the extra storage for uploading project blueprints. I'm able to annotate plans, attach photos to specific areas and add detailed notes. The platform is built for multiple users which makes collaborating and communicating with my team simple and efficient.

Cons

Even with many strong tools, I notice it still misses key functions I need, like the ability to generate proposals or bids and built-in project billing and accounting. I also feel the upfront cost is quite high making it a significant investment before you even get started.

confusing billing system

Pros

I really appreciate having every drawing, specification and piece of project information accessible together in one place and available at the same time.

Cons

Most contractors and subcontractors aren't tech-savvy and don't use Procore effectively. I find the billing system within it to be overly confusing and poorly designed.

Easy to onboard new members

Pros

Its user-friendly tools let me easily distribute numerous items among a big group of people who are all collaborating on a single project. Bringing new team members on board is simple and once they're added they quickly become part of what we jokingly call the 'Procore-sphere.' Being able to view the same drawings and have quick access to contact details for every trade has proven to be a priceless aid when I'm coordinating large construction jobs.

Cons

One thing I've noticed is that the platform could use additional options to customize features specifically for each trade because a few functions feel too generic for our different subcontractors. Greater trade-specific customization would organize workflows and make the tools fit on-site needs much better.

can share documents with selected parties

Pros

Love that I can upload documents and share them only with selected parties so they can monitor the files and download them whenever it's convenient for them.

Cons

As a subcontractor we use it and so does our general contractor but I'm frustrated that there isn't a way for two separate company Procore accounts to work together. It would be really helpful if we could pull or check specific items from the GC's Procore and have those entries automatically appear or update inside our own account, saving us from manual transfers and reducing the chance of missed information.

Best construction software

Pros

In my experience this is the best construction software I've come across. It provides a complete set of management tools so I can track an entire job. The field tools and the access they give are genuinely outstanding. Whether I'm dealing with daily reports or RFIs, the app handles everything and it integrates smoothly with other programs too.

Cons

While I can work offline at times, I still rely on an internet connection which is understandable and not a fault of the design. As the company expands, I'm curious whether they plan to increase server bandwidth and I also want to know what their current limits are for how many active users can be supported.

Quick responses

Pros

The website is very easy to get around and I always have simple access to customer support when I need it. Their response times are impressively quick.

Cons

Unfortunately I can't combine operator and equipment man-hours in payroll so I end up entering man-hour records and equipment-hour records separately which makes tracking more tedious.

Minimized paperwork

Pros

I've found this software really simple to operate and it has saved me from having to print out a ton of paper pages that turned out to be unnecessary.

Cons

When I first tried it the website felt confusing to get around and I struggled to find what I needed as a new user.

Huge timesaver

Pros

Having a single, central place for every project document is incredibly handy and I can instantly share those files with any member of the project team. This setup has spared me endless hours that used to go into filing and distributing the numerous documents generated throughout a project.

Cons

I'm frustrated that the quantity takeoff functionality is pretty limited right now although the company has assured users they'll enhance it in future updates. I'm eager to see those improvements roll out because it would make a big difference for how I work on estimations.

Accessible from any device

Pros

I can access it from any device and adding subcontractors into the system is simple so they can log into the project, keep up with schedules and the overall timeline and see what items are on the punch list and still need completing accurately

Cons

The main thing that bugs me is the lack of true push notifications to the devices our subs use. For example, when I sent a notice to my drywall subcontractor about finishing the last items on the punch list, I really wanted him to get it like a text message so he would immediately see he had to take care of those tasks. Right now it feels like the message can get missed

Useful features

Pros

For my construction firm, the app's features have all been really helpful and they've made project management noticeably easier and far less stressful to manage.

Cons

I noticed our employees still needed extra time to become comfortable using the application even after we completed the training so the interface should be more user-friendly.

Wonderful functionality and support

Pros

I'm blown away by every part of Procore. The range of ways I can use it, how simple it is to use, the support team and the way everything stays coordinated. Honestly it's PHENOMENAL!!

Cons

My only issue is that it keeps tweaking cosmetic elements which ends up relocating the buttons and areas I use most. Each time I finally get used to the new layout, they change it again.
