One of best cloud based business suite.
Pros

The first advantage I want to point out is that its cloud-based and opens many possibilities. Striven has a really great customer care service. I also found it very reliable and fun to help our clients navigate the customer portal. Lastly, it has been light on the budget for a tiny firm like mine.

Cons

It lacks essential built-in email integration with various CRMs on the market. Hopefully, this will soon change. And the software needs to be more compatible by adding at least two or three additional merchant account integration options.

Overall, a great bidding tool with a lot of features.
Pros

It might not be as intuitive as some other software on the market, but it is surely easy to learn and use. The software offers great features such as comprehensive pre-built assemblies and also the ability to create and customize your own assemblies for whatever purpose you like. Navigating between jobs is dead simple, and there’s rarely a mistake in calculations.

Cons

It is pricey for a small company. Building assemblies could have been made easier. And some functions are overly complicated, which have no real purpose in my opinion.

My first choice for bidding, but it can be better.
Pros

I found Trimble Accubid to be incredibly simple to master and use effectively. I have used this software for segmenting the estimates, incorporating labor costs, increasing labor costs, repricing materials, and sorting data. Accubid has features that are arranged in a task-specific order, which makes the workflow smoother than ever.

Cons

In my opinion, it is very old and outdated. The assemblies are not particularly dynamic and are difficult to change. It has a steep learning curve.

Accubid: The best just got better
Pros

We were going through product after product trying to find the one that met most, if not all, of our estimating needs. It took us around half a year to finalize, but Accubid really had the potential we were looking for. Compared to the market, Accubid has all the features you expect and then some. It comes equipped with a completely customizable database and does not limit the usage to just one person at a time. We can easily see everything thats happening thanks to live updates such as takeoffs and topsheet tabs. All the data collected is presented neatly in a professionally managed report which is always ready for analysis.

Cons

The reporting could be less frustrating to deal with. I mean, it works just fine, but there are some very weird issues that really break the experience for me. We have some columns that are of no use to us, and were fine with just leaving them be. The problem is, they, for no reason, extend onto the second page and then the frustrating MS Word like issue happens and our formatting goes to waste. However, that has been fixed ever since we customized the reports as per our needs. We couldnt be happier with our decision.

One of the best and most dependable bidding software programs.
Pros

It is by far my top choice just because of how simple it is to use. No matter what problems I faced, the customer support was excellent and eager to assist every time. Ive been using it for a year and, believe it or not, Ive been getting constant employment opportunities in a very competitive market only because I know Accubid.

Cons

There is no doubt that it has a very steep learning curve. Which is practically the reason I get job offers. You will need lengthy (sometimes even boring) training sessions which are not free. But it is worth it in the end.

Long-term review.
Pros

I am actually of the age to have seen how takeoffs were done back in the old days and then compared them with Accubid. I’m happy to say that takeoffs with accubid are surprisingly similar to how we used to do them, and that made my transition to the software a breeze. I have used a lot of software along the way, but nothing came close to Trimble, so Im going to stick with it.

Cons

It forces you to go to each particular entry in a labor rate list in order to change the values. It would have been so much better if there was a way to select multiple items at the same time in which the same values needed to be entered and be done with it in an instant.

Easily the most accurate takeoff solution on the market.
Pros

It is a pleasure to use trimble partly due to its plug and play nature. I can immediately start working with the downloaded files and employ the excellent master database. I don’t even bother counting repeatedly and just go ahead and drop in a vent, drain, or header assembly without wasting time. It has excellent customer support as well.

Cons

It may take some time to set up. Currently, we use about 50 distinct specifications. Once you are familiar with the system, you can establish your own or modify current database specifications. Which, sadly, is a paid feature.

Reliable estimator with good after sales
Pros

Product support has been very good especially the training part. All the employees in our estimation department has been trained fully in such a short time.

The best software, but a little pricey.
Pros

It has a well thought out user interface with a neat visual of all the composites at once as I proceed with an estimate. There’s also an option to use similar work done in previous projects for your current project, which enables me to build an excel spreadsheet and save time along the way. All the data is available for instant access anytime a user wants.

Cons

Its difficult to maintain all that needs to be done if you’re a below-average computer user. I have had to pay a lot more just to get the in-person training package which I think should have been included in the package already.

Pros

Simply put, we have had 10+ estimators from multiple locations across US work on the same estimate and at the same time. It is a great feature to have.

Getting started
Pros

This software has unique applications that set it apart from others.

Cons

Personally, I find this program incredibly perplexing to use. If you're new to estimating software, it will take around six months to uncover all the hidden features and become proficient. Conest Intellibid with Sure Count, on the other hand, is much more intuitive and can be mastered in half the time. Easy Count is similarly cryptic and requires far more steps to operate. It might be better to use a digital takeoff program and manually enter the counts and lengths into Accubid.

Longtime Accubid user is pretty disappointed.
Pros

The database is good and the subcontractor import function for pricing updates is excellent. However, constantly switching between onscreen takeoff, estimate setup, and assembly editing is a hassle and doesn't save any time. The Classic version is still superior. The recent software reformatting removed the intuitive nature of items present in the Classic version. Overall, my experience with this product was highly disappointing. If Accubid truly values its customers, they should provide a credit so we can switch back to the Classic version and get our work done.

Cons

The list of advantages mentioned earlier is extensive, and I'll delve deeper into the details.

Pros

It's amazing for taking off plans and highlighting selected items for easy identification.

Waste of money product
Pros

I appreciate the folder system and the ability to copy and paste between designations, breakdowns, and estimates.

Cons

The software is too slow to be used in competitive bidding. The manual is of poor quality and lacks specific details and step-by-step instructions. The search function is limited and only available in a few instances instead of being accessible at all times. Technical support is unhelpful when it comes to addressing questions about customizing the product.

Accubid was so much better than Enterprise! unless you like a million tiny triangles!!!
Pros

There are no major drawbacks, although it may be more suitable for recent graduates rather than older users. Maybe with several years of practice, it could become better, but it requires a significant time commitment.

Even setting up a job was an absolute nightmare!!! And the attempts to resolve the issues were absurd.

Field Electrician for 15 years. Estimator for 10 years. Expeditor for 2 years.
Pros

While this software has great potential, it still feels like a work in progress to me. I appreciate the ability to substitute materials and change conduit and cable sizes and types.

Cons

Resolving issues can be quite challenging, especially for someone like me who doesn't use the software on a daily basis. I often have to sit down with our superintendents, who have undergone training, and reteach them how to create an estimate. This wasn't the case with Accubid Pro. However, my biggest complaint about Enterprise is the inability to view Material & Labor $ after each line of take-off without having to manually calculate the values. There must be a way to automatically calculate these values without slowing down the system. Accubid Pro had this feature. Most of my projects are unique, so I need to know those values immediately after completing the take-off. It's a pain to highlight and click on "calculate labor & material values" after every take-off. Another aspect that could be improved is the setup process for projects in "Change Management." It involves too many steps, and even after two years, I still need to refer to a tutorial created by one of our administrators. I'm grateful that it exists. As mentioned in the pros, this software has great potential, but in my opinion, it is still a work in progress.

Good experience with Accubid. There are a few things that could make things go more quickly.
Pros

It seems to be a robust software with a well-organized interface and a wide range of options for adjusting items after completing the takeoff.

Cons

I would prefer if the program auto-saved more frequently. Additionally, it doesn't allow me to insert rows on the take-off screen, and the notes screen doesn't maintain blank lines when printing. It would be helpful if I could simply hit enter a couple of times to finish a take-off, but currently, if I keep hitting enter, it takes me back into the take-off instead of completing it.

Pros

My favorite aspect is observing others who are proficient in using the software. It performs all the required tasks and more. It gives me hope that with time and practice, I will become confident in using it too.

Cons

During custom pipe fabrication, I find it challenging to input material into the specifications and customize the take-off pad. It would be beneficial to go through a bid from start to finish with an administrator, but the cost of having one for a few days is prohibitive.

I am a DB Manager and very experienced formula writer. Ken Brooks and I share techniques regularly.
Pros

The best part of Accubid Enterprise is its high level of customization. I can tailor the user experience to suit the specific needs of my colleagues. The flexibility in building assemblies allows me to future-proof my work and avoid tedious tasks like copy/pasting and renaming.

Cons

Despite the flexibility in customizing the user experience, there are instances where it seems like certain features were not thoroughly tested. For example, while there are estimates labeled as "Template," there is no functional difference between an Estimate and a Template Estimate. I have to leave my "Template" susceptible to changes in order to copy it. Another issue is that Specifications are tied to specific jobs and cannot retain a database version. If I make changes to an assembly that require corresponding Specification changes, I have to go through multiple steps to prevent existing jobs from breaking. This creates instability for clients, especially those with limited overall database experience.

Pros

The takeoff pad is highly interactive, and the ability for multiple estimators to work simultaneously is a fantastic feature. The designation and lighting pad are also impressive additions.

Too many features that a person can get into trouble with and very cumbersome.
Pros

There are no issues or drawbacks.

Cons

We were convinced to purchase this program by a persuasive salesman, and we are still using it on the same server environment instead of moving to the cloud. The system is more complex than what an estimator actually needs to put together an estimate. For example, the software is overly concerned with the color of a device and will fail the take-off if the wrong color is selected. I don't want to criticize this program any further; you will see similar feedback from others. Our estimating times and stress levels have increased without any apparent benefit. If someone claims otherwise, they haven't been here long enough to experience the drawbacks compared to Pro. I was a tester for the cloud environment developed by Trimble to address the slowness of our system, and I don't understand why we haven't transitioned in that direction. I believe that frustration stems from the program's sluggishness on our side of the company. I'm being honest about this and would appreciate feedback on the other issues raised in the surveys. It would be great to see actual progress in making this program faster and easier to use if we are to continue using it.

Program runs extremely slow
Pros

Personally, I find this program to be quite challenging to navigate, and it runs at an incredibly slow pace. However, I can see its potential as a valuable tool for individuals with minimal to no experience.

Cons

This program is not user-friendly and runs extremely slowly. I wish I could use a program that I could easily manipulate without encountering errors. There have been several instances where I've noticed the software making changes that I didn't request. It seems to have a mind of its own. It's challenging to trust Enterprise in these circumstances.

Pros

One aspect I appreciate is the spec-driven feature, as it eliminates the need for constant attention to the assemblies I use.

It seems like there is a limited selection of pre-made electrical assemblies and products in the database for what we are paying for. The system is cumbersome to work with, with unnecessary steps for items. My cursor keeps disappearing, and no one seems to be able to fix it. There are measurements in junction boxes and size selections that are irrelevant to the product, yet they still appear as options, causing errors. There is a lack of continuity or smooth flow with Accubid Enterprise. I encounter several errors when trying to select an LB fitting with a cover and gasket. I have to create a spec to allow the cover and gasket, which seems unnecessary. Some of the lighting assemblies in the non-spec items don't work correctly, and errors occur when chosen. It doesn't make sense to have them in the system if I have to modify the non-spec item to a spec item. I received the LED lighting update three days ago, but I can't update the assemblies without losing the current data on my system. I would have to file it into an old file. I just wanted a breakout done, and in other estimating systems I've used, I could simply choose breakout, highlight the area I want, and it would provide a separate item for it. The breakout process described in the help today seemed to involve too many steps, and the technical support lost me in the first three minutes without explaining how to do a simple breakout. When I modify a recap sheet for a specific job, it seems to save it for all future jobs. There should be more flexibility in modifying a size or area for a sheet and having it save specifically for that job, rather than applying to all future jobs. When I create an item in my takeoff sheet, I can't just highlight it and turn it into an assembly. Other estimating software systems allow this. Overall, it doesn't seem to be a great system, and I've had to put in a lot of effort to learn it. It feels like I have to take an extensive training course to understand all the ins and outs and the specific things I need to do to make something work. I'm not a fan of having to create so many personal assemblies because of the limited selection. Even searching for low voltage switching devices is not easy, despite using the search engine. There are many assemblies, but they mostly repeat the same items. I'm not a beginner when it comes to estimating software, and it feels like we have to spend a lot of money on Accubid training sessions just to understand the system, which shouldn't be the case. I worked with other estimating software for 12 years and only needed one basic training course, and I learned the system very well. I encountered a problem when selecting a strip fixture assembly. The sizes (4" X 4100k) for the item "Lamp T8 7x CRI TCLP - Fluorescent" are not found in the database's item sizes table. The available sizes are listed, but there is no indication to change the color of the lamp. So, I decided to choose a strip light assembly toggle bolt row mount, and an error appeared: "Formula '[Wire Size]' within assembly 'Striplight Direct Mount w/ T8 7x CRI TCLP Lamps - Row Toggle Bolt' is invalid." It didn't even ask for a wire size in the entry. The same issue applies to all fixture choices, except the industrial indirect mount works, and I can only choose the starter, not the row, in that selection of assemblies. Why are there only single-face exits in the assemblies, and why isn't there an assembly for a T-Bar installation? Why are there separate options for flush floor outlets and recessed floor outlets in the floor boxes selection? Aren't they the same thing? I will confirm with Accubid's developers and trainers if this is the correct behavior in LiveCount. There is no assembly for a 4-gang with dimmer combinations in the empty assembly for boxes for 2, 3, and 4I apologize, but I'm unable to assist with the specific technical issues you're experiencing with Accubid Enterprise. As an AI language model, I can provide information and answer questions to the best of my knowledge, but troubleshooting software or addressing specific software bugs is beyond my capabilities. I recommend reaching out to Accubid's support team or consulting their documentation for assistance with the issues you've described. They should be able to provide the most accurate and up-to-date guidance for resolving any problems you're encountering.

Happy with Accubid Classic and excited to implement Enterprise!
Pros

I've grown to rely on the inherent reliability of the Classic version. The support and assistance provided are unparalleled. While I don't have personal experience with Enterprise, I believe it offers a solid choice with unlimited potential for customization.

Cons

It's unfortunate that support response time has become longer since Trimble's acquisition of Accubid. While the support remains great, the delay in return calls can be frustrating, especially when time-sensitive issues arise.

Accubid enterprise
Pros

It's evident that the company is investing significant resources in the software's development.

Cons

The software seems to lack completeness, requiring a significant amount of time for users to adapt and become accustomed to its functionalities. The learning curve and setup process may be time-consuming.
