logical layout

Pros

Very user friendly interface and navigation feels simple. Everything is laid out in a way that makes it easy to find what you need quickly.

Cons

It would be great if the email limit could be increased and if clickable hype links were supported directly inside the email body.

Great software, 10/10

Smooth workflow

Pros

Campaign creation, automations and email design are easy to use and the workflow feels simple end to end. Contact management and building lists are also pretty direct and everything runs reliably. Deliverability is solid and the reporting is genuinely useful. I especially like being able to follow a contact's engagement timeline. Site visits which emails were opened and which links were clicked. Tagging has also worked really well for keeping my audience organized.

Cons

They do offer a CRM but it doesn't feel as polished as the rest of the platform. I already use Pipedrive so I don't need anything too advanced but ActiveCampaign's CRM implementation feels limited compared to what's out there and that's a big reason it loses points for me. Cost is another downside. It's on the pricey side for what's included when I compare it to other options. I'm still paying mainly because switching would take too much effort just to save around 20 to 50 bucks a month. If I were starting fresh today, I'd definitely compare alternatives before committing.

standout lead generation flow

Pros

The lead generation flow especially with the way it tracks who's engaged and then lets you target those engaged users heavily was the standout for us. It genuinely made us feel like a much larger company than we actually were at the time.

Cons

Getting started was a bit of a hassle. The help features are decent but it still took us a few weeks to really get the hang of the whole platform and start using it confidently.

very personalized set up

Pros

I run two separate businesses and use this for both and it's great that I can segment them so each one can be set up for its own needs. The ability to organize things by business and purpose makes the whole setup feel a lot more personalized.

Cons

A bunch of the features come with a noticeable learning curve. Because we're still figuring things out, we're not making use of everything we probably could, simply due to not knowing how to use many of the functions.

strong note taking function

Pros

Even though I'm not the main user at my company, this has become our go to for detailed note taking and keeping customer relationships organized.

Cons

When it comes to creating email campaigns, it is harder to navigate than I'd expect.

excellent automation and reporting

Pros

Ends up being pretty simple to use even if there's a bit of a learning curve at the start like any new tool. Once it clicks, it fits neatly into my day to day business workflow and integrates without much difficulty. The email builder is especially user friendly. It's drag and drop so putting together good looking, on brand emails is quick and doesn't require design expertise. On top of that the automation features are a real game changer. I can build email sequences and workflows to nurture leads, send personalized follow ups and segment my audience based on their behavior. The reporting and analytics are also genuinely useful since I can track open rates, click through rates, conversion rates and more. Having those numbers makes it much easier to adjust campaigns and make smarter marketing decisions.

Cons

There's a steep learning curve at first but it feels worth it once you get comfortable with the platform there's a lot you can do after that.

amazing integrations

Pros

The way it connects leads through Zapier and Google Forms really stands out for me and it's been the most useful part of the setup.

Cons

The "planned" campaigns feature can be unreliable as messages don't always get sent on time so the scheduling doesn't consistently work as expected.

Quick set up

Pros

Setup and handling of the tool isnt difficult at all. The sales funnel is also easy to tweak so adjusting the flow didn't take much effort.

Cons

Lead prospecting pages send over too little information which leaves me with fewer details than I'd expect.

tons of settings for campaigns

Pros

It comes with a lot of setting options so it's pretty flexible. You can build and customize complex campaigns without feeling limited.

Cons

Occasionally it's a bit complicated to track down specific options and the interface can feel a little cluttered or "bushy."

user friendly automation

Pros

I've been using this for the past 3 years and I genuinely enjoy building emailers and setting up automations. The software feels very user friendly which makes it quick to put together and manage campaigns.

Cons

Nothing negative has come up for me so far but it would be really helpful if customer support for the India region were improved.

solid email basics

Pros

No way I could justify the budget for HubSpot or similar tools so ActiveCampaign is the route I went with. It handles the core stuff you'd expect from an email marketing platform and that's really all I needed. First party tracking is available, plus you get A/B testing for campaigns. For a smaller setup it gets the job done.

Cons

Customer support has been a mess. They do offer free live chat but it feels like a dead end every time, I was told my issue was too complex and that they had to switch to email follow up. After that, you're left wondering if you'll ever actually hear back. There's also a Facebook community for questions but it's moderated in a way that requires approval for every post so it's basically hard to get timely, unfiltered feedback from other users. If you're working with a small budget, this could be a decent option for basic email marketing, just don't count on getting clear answers from their support and be ready to rely on Google instead.

efficient contact automation for CRM

Pros

What I appreciate most about ActiveCompaign is how it automates contact handling and makes managing lists much easier. It helps me build genuine, meaningful connections with customers instead of juggling things manually.

Cons

Although I really enjoy using ActiveCompaign, the pricing feels very high. I'm hoping the team will review the rates and make them more reasonable.

Pages take long to load

Pros

Only part of this software that has consistently matched what my business needs is the lead management. New leads show up clearly in the lists, grouped by the different segments and that makes it simple to spot which forms are actually performing well.

Cons

Pages can feel slow and sometimes take a bit too long to load. The user interface also still feels like it needs refinement; it doesn't come across as very user friendly. On top of that pricing is pretty steep. I also haven't been able to find a direct way to use this inside Elementor the way Mailchimp supports.

Confusing UI

Pros

Came in a lot cheaper than most other CRM options I looked at.

Cons

Using the interface felt frustrating. Whenever I wanted to complete a task, I kept spending extra time just figuring out where things were or how to proceed. Some parts of the systen isnt very user friendly and I had to click around a lot to find the right way to perform basic actions.

high volume outbound email builder

Pros

One of the biggest wins with it for me is how quickly you can create, customize and send high volume outbound marketing emails. The workflow feels built for actually getting campaigns out the door without spending forever on setup.

Cons

Compared with alternatives like Constant Contact, it's missing web builder tools which means you can't rely on this alone for that part of the process.

Fast automations

Pros

Automations are something I can set up quickly without much friction. It's genuinely helped organize how things run in our company. I also really value the reporting and metrics available since it makes it easier to judge whether our advertising and sales efforts are actually working. On top of that this program makes it simple to reach and manage my mailing lists.

Cons

Automated testing workflow could use some improvement. When there are lots of automation steps, it would be nice to organize tags into groups so they're easier to find and manage later.

Pros

It does more than just improving my email marketing. It also helps me capture leads by turning site visitors into actual customers. I've been using it for over a decade and even now the vendor still resolves bugs within minutes whenever I reach out.

Integrations work well

Pros

There's a lot of functionality here and the integrations work well especially when you're using it from an automation standpoint. It also gives clear visibility across the whole team which makes it easier to stay aligned.

Cons

Email sending can get really buggy, with different issues popping up depending on what you're trying to do. A couple of improvements would help a lot too, like being able to exclude specific users from all other automations in one click, instead of having to set it up user by user in separate lists.
