very efficient

Pros

Tasks get done without a lot of back and forth or having to use other tools which keeps things moving quickly.

Cons

If someone doesn't have prior experience, getting started can feel a bit tough at first. The initial learning curve might be challenging until you get used to how it's set up.

Flexible audience targeting

Pros

The biggest win for me is how simple it is to automate email outreach based on conditions like which funnel stage the lead is in or the lead's score. That flexibility makes follow ups feel more targeted without having to manually manage every message.

Cons

Would be even better if the CRM could handle WhatsApp and social media messaging directly, instead of forcing users to rely on an external platform for those channels.

strong potential

Pros

I really liked what this tool can do in terms of integration with other tools and it definitely feels like it has solid potential.

Cons

Initial setup didn't win me over and I also think the price is a bit higher than the alternatives especially if you're just getting started.

Don't recommend it

Pros

Worked well for our team for about a year and a half. We used it pretty much every day for managing contact details, running email campaigns, tracking deals and building automations. Overall, it has solid capabilities under the hood.

Cons

I can't really recommend using this, mainly because of how their terms handle cancellation. We were on an annual plan for roughly a year and a half, then switched marketing agencies and moved over to a HubSpot team with a new CRM. Even with that context, ActiveCampaign wouldn't refund the unused months even though we'd asked for a prorated option that would align with a month to month cost. I get why a company might be strict with a brand new customer in their first year but it felt unreasonable given the length of our subscription and that it's a SaaS product. If there's any chance you'll need to switch systems later, I'd strongly suggest thinking twice before committing.

tag based access saves time

Pros

Contact management feels a lot more organized thanks to the tagging system. As a training organization, being able to assign a tag in a single click based on what access an employee is authorized to have saves a lot of crucial time.

Cons

Getting the software set up and learning how it works can be a bit tricky if it's your first time using it.

tough learning curve

Pros

I really appreciate how effective this software is. It gets results fast and does what it's supposed to without a lot of fuss.

Cons

Using it can be pretty difficult if you don't already have experience. It doesn't feel very beginner friendly and the learning curve is noticeable.

secure and reassuring system backup

Pros

Really convenient to handle and the system backup feature is a big plus. There's also a noticeable focus on security which makes the whole setup feel more reliable.

Cons

One inconvenience is that you need an email address for every contact just to register them.

Quick integration

Pros

We connected it with our CRM and the setup worked really well. The integration made it easy to use the platform for prospecting and nurturing. Everything tied together nicely and helped simplify our email workflows.

Cons

Occasionally, the features feel a bit hard to navigate especially if you're unfamiliar with the interface or you're new to email marketing tools.

solid analytics

Pros

It was recommended to me by a colleague after I was pretty unhappy with another product. The moment I signed up, it felt like an instant win. The email templates look amazing, the analytics are spot on and they genuinely show us where we're strong and where we need to improve. The dashboard is also fantastic and the lead tracking is the kind of detail that really makes a difference. Overall, I couldn't be more impressed.

Cons

Pricing is on the higher side but once we got rolling we could clearly see the return on investment. Still, we ended up using a different CRM since we found it more useful for our workflow so we don't use its CRM part anymore.

Very friendly customer support

Pros

Matches exactly what I needed to help promote my online program. Once I started using it and got comfortable relying on it using it became incredibly easy. The CRM features like tags and website/link connections can really help organize leads and track what's going on. Setup and day to day management didn't feel too complicated either. Also every single person I've spoken with has been A+. The customer support has been consistently helpful, friendly and responsive.

Cons

Getting up to speed on advanced automation campaigns and segmentation takes a bit of time and effort. Newer users might also find the interface a little intimidating and more advanced options like lead scoring are only available on higher tier, more expensive plans. The only real annoyance I ran into is that the price shown on the page automatically converts into my local currency.

awesome plugin integrations for email marketing

Pros

Connects with a ton of plugins and other tools which is a big reason we picked it. We've set it up to work with our landing pages, QR codes, the email opt in pop up on our site and a few other channels. The email editor is solid and helps us design good looking newsletters without too much difficulty. Segmentation is simple and the analytics are detailed which has been really useful for tracking what's working.

Cons

There's a fairly steep learning curve and it also feels like AC may fit best for a bigger company that drives a lot of revenue through email. We're paying for quite a few options we don't end up using right now though that's mostly because of our current size and specific needs.

Absolutely worth it

Pros

It sends emails based on how users behave things like activity on the website, whether they opened previous emails and other related signals. That kind of targeting makes the messaging feel much more relevant.

Cons

The only downside I can point out is the price. Everything else has been working out well and it outweighs the cost.

clean interface

Pros

Workflow setup feels quick and the interface is built in a way that isnt hard to navigate. I can manage campaigns and automations without getting bogged down which makes the whole experience smoother for daily marketing work.

Cons

Doesn't include powerful social media integration and that can hold things back especially since I'm also actively running social media marketing. If they added better support for social platforms (at least one solid feature in that area), I think it would make a big difference and really improve how well the tool fits into a complete marketing stack.

An average marketing platform

Pros

A standard email marketing platform. We've tried at least six other providers and this one landed right in the middle. Definitely not the best we've used but not the worst either. It seems like the team is actively iterating and pushing the product forward so I'd be open to revisiting it later to see what's changed.

Cons

Compared to competing tools, it didn't feel as strong or feature rich.

Strong automation for growing teams

Pros

Packed with tools that work well for businesses of different sizes. The interface is user friendly and the features are easy enough to figure out that you can start putting automation to work without too much friction. Overall, it's the kind of software that helps you organize your marketing better, organize campaigns and push for more sales.

Cons

Even with all the strengths, there are a couple of trade offs to think through before committing. There's a fairly steep learning curve. While it's powerful, it can take time to fully understand and use everything effectively so training or support may be needed. Reporting also isn't as strong as I'd like. It can be limiting when you're trying to dig into performance data and make smarter marketing decisions. Lastly, pricing can be on the higher side compared with other email marketing tools which may be a challenge for smaller businesses or newer startups.

easy to customize

Pros

Was recommended to us when we started thinking about automating our marketing. At first, we relied on the core marketing automation features like automated email sends and segmentation of our mailing lists. Then, step by step, we were able to set up scoring and assign more precise profiles to each contact in our database. That made it much easier to fine tune our decisions and, in turn, speed up sales.

Cons

The more familiar we get with this software, the more tempting it is to keep adding extra layers of features. Realistically, that isn't always necessary and it's worth staying deliberate and keeping the overall strategy simple otherwise it can easily turn into an "over engineered" machine.

excellent lead capture

Pros

ActiveCampaign has helped me create leads by capturing visitors' email addresses. That's been a big step toward growing my mailing list and it lets me send automated campaigns and automations to promote and sell my digital products. What surprised me is how simple it feels to set up and use even as a beginner entrepreneur. Big thanks to the team.

Cons

I'd polish the interface a bit more to make it even more user friendly but honestly it's a minor detail.
