“good choice for email marketing”
Pros
Using this tool for email marketing feels like the logical choice and it didn't take long to get the hang of the platform and start using it confidently.
Cons
We did get flagged for using the Unsubscribe link in a way that was considered inappropriate at the time. After contacting customer support, it was resolved quickly. that incident made it clear ActiveCampaign is protecting both its users and the people on the mailing lists by helping prevent spammy behavior.

“Simple to use”
Pros
Automations are seriously top tier, with solid pre built templates and a workflow editor that's both simple to use and gives a clear, full view of what's happening in the project. That combo makes it fit just about any company's automated process. On top of that the platform's email advertising categorization, automation options and customization for consumer tracking are great and I really appreciate how much effort they put into customer support. Support has been very attentive the whole time and they've never left me hanging, every question or issue I had about the service got a response.
Cons
Pricing is on the high side. Third party connectivity is limited out of the box so we end up relying on Zapier to make things work which adds even more cost. The tool also didn't feel the most user friendly at first and while everything is doable, it can sometimes take more effort than I'd like. Other competitors simplify the setup more though usually by sacrificing some of the flexibility that this offers.

“Very helpful support team”
Pros
I used Gmail to communicate with customers before but switching to this changed things for the better. Now it's super easy to drop new people into automations, track exactly who opened and clicked my messages and also see who hasn't engaged yet.
Cons
Automation setups can feel a bit touchy at times but the support team has been genuinely helpful and responsive.

“has room for improvement”
Pros
Lets us schedule email newsletters and set up an automation based sales funnel for both our food and business needs. Building and managing the workflows/automation flows feels easy and the overall setup is quick once you know where to click. We've also been able to integrate several of our existing tools which helps keep everything connected.
Cons
Performance can be a bit slow at times. There are also several places that could use improvement especially the email template builder, sign up forms and landing page features. Creating an email template completely from scratch has some limitations so you may find yourself working around the available options more than you'd expect.

“Makes it easy to run targeted campaigns”
Pros
Thanks to the automations, website visitors get all the key information with a simple mouse click. Campaigns are also easy to plan and the option to categorize customers using tags makes it possible to run campaigns in a really targeted way.
Cons
Visual layout for the letters could look a bit nicer.

“smooth filtering”
Pros
Segmenting contacts on other tools has been pretty frustrating for me but this handles it much better. Setting up the sequences also feels simple and the way it filters clients is really smooth which is something I've noticed a lot of companies struggle to do well.
Cons
It would be nice if the system could prioritize one sequence and then trigger the next one automatically when an email has multiple matching tags, instead of sending multiple sequences at once and overwhelming the recipient.

“Excellent value for price”
Pros
Pricing feels excellent, the feature set is solid and the company comes across as pretty innovative. I genuinely want this to be a long term partnership and I've been rooting for it to work out.
Cons
The automation rules aren't reliable. One of my simplest field update automations is currently broken: when field A equals x, it should update field B to y but it fails to run. I opened a support ticket about it roughly four weeks ago and since then nothing has changed. The bigger problem is that after all the implementation work I put in, their automated emails also stopped triggering which basically cancels out the value of the 100+ hours I spent setting up landing pages, building automations and running data imports. I also submitted tickets to engineering around the same time frame and I haven't received so much as a quick update. They offered to make June service free but that doesn't solve the actual issue I need the software to function as promised so the time investment I made can finally pay off.

“easy to run complex automations”
Pros
Let us build and run pretty complex email automation workflows. The segmentation and list management features work well for our needs and the email template builder is genuinely solid. We've been able to shape campaigns around different user groups without too much hassle which has been a big win for our marketing.
Cons
A more detailed and user friendly sales dashboard would be a helpful upgrade. Also, importing or uploading a list doesn't feel as simple as it should. Customer support has been disappointing so getting help can be frustrating when something doesn't go as planned.

Pros
You can customise practically everything. Options for tagging, trigger settings and automation flows let you build pretty much any setup you can think of.

“User friendly UI”
Pros
It covers all the usual automation features with a pretty user friendly interface so getting things going doesn't feel overwhelming.
Cons
Cost is on the higher side and the initial setup seemed designed for their team's timeline rather than ours. After that, we were handed off to a different group which created some inconsistency in how things were handled.

Pros
Automation features are genuinely useful and the API integration works well. Overall, it feels like it was built to connect smoothly with other tools.
Cons

“excellent onboarding experience”
Pros
Has a lot going on but the help resources are genuinely useful. I completed the onboarding course before touching anything else, just to get clear on how the tool works and then I went through the migration support materials too. Those guides made everything click and showed me the real power of the platform.
Cons
Because it's a pretty feature heavy tool, it can feel overwhelming if you jump into too many tasks before you understand the basics. I still haven't spent much time with the reporting tools and I'd like to see stronger metrics without needing so much manual effort.

“Powerful segmentation”
Pros
Since email campaigns keep getting more sophisticated and personalized year after year, you really want a tool that handles segmentation and personalization in a more precise way. With this, you can target the right people with the right message at the right time and you get full control over sending logic based on user actions. Deliverability is also impressive assuming of course that you maintain a strong email reputation, have proper opt ins and consistently send engaging content. One more important note, this platform isn't meant for cold email or affiliate style email blasts. The CRM portion also has a clean, easy to navigate UI with the key features kept within reach. On top of that the wide range of native integrations makes it a solid fit for professional email marketers.
Cons
There's a bit of a learning curve. It generally isn't geared toward non technical users and you'll need some technical comfort to get everything running smoothly. If you're a complete beginner who mainly wants to send occasional, one off email blasts, Mailchimp is a better alternative.

“all in one email marketing tool”
Pros
Lets you handle newsletters, build email marketing automations, manage lists and create landing pages, plus several other useful features. The integrations with Zapier are a big win too since it supports lead generation campaigns coming from other channels like Meta and Google. For example, we focus on people who engage with our white paper content on Facebook, then connect those leads into our email marketing flows.
Cons
If you're aiming for highly customized page layouts and a more polished design, this isn't the best fit. The landing pages can look a bit plain and customizing them isn't particularly easy. On top of that we ran into issues getting support when our account was blocked and reaching the team took longer than we expected. Lead scoring is available but the setup and day to day use didn't feel very accessible even though the functionality itself is there.

Pros
We've been using ActiveCampaign to build marketing funnels and the workflow is super easy to learn and set up. Even with a few pretty complex funnels, the full toolset helps us collaborate on development, troubleshoot issues together and run tests without turning it into a chore.
Cons
