Loaded with features

Pros

It packs in a lot and it's easy to see why it's so highly recommended by places like PCMag and considered a favorite customer relationship management platform. It's user-friendly, loaded with features and gives you multiple ways to connect with clients through email, phone social media and chat. Another big plus is how customizable it is for different business needs, you can create modules, add fields and sections, clone layouts and build templates. The marketplace is also very useful since it connects with other apps and services like Google products, Zapier and more.

Cons

Some of the more advanced features are only available in the paid version. It works really well for small businesses but for a mid-sized or larger company, Zoho CRM can start to feel a little limited.

Very basic

Pros

Back when it first launched more than 10 years ago, it stood out as a very cost-effective option and was fairly simple to use overall. Having the data stored in the cloud also added peace of mind since saved information stayed secure and wasn't at risk of being lost. It works well enough for basic CRM needs.

Cons

if your computer froze before you saved, you had to re-enter everything from scratch. Even though the price is reasonable, there are other platforms that are stronger and more practical to work with. We've since moved to Salesforce which has been excellent and integrates well with other programs.

Strong lineup of products

Pros

It offers a really strong lineup of products for the price. I'd describe it as the "IKEA" of software suites, budget-friendly but you should expect to put in a little setup and effort to get everything working the way you want.

Cons

An area that still feels lacking is the accessibility and overall user experience. I prefer software that feels immediately user-friendly and with Zoho, it sometimes takes extra time to understand how things work and get comfortable using it.

Useful mobile app and free plan

Pros

Trying the free version is a really good way to get started without committing too much upfront. The mobile app is especially helpful when working out in the field and it makes staying on top of things much more convenient.

Cons

The only real limitation is the lack of customization although Zoho is upfront about that not being included in the free plan. Even so, it would still be nice to have the option to adjust a few certain elements in that version.

Stable and consistent performance

Pros

Very userfriendly and the setup process doesn't take much effort. It's also been stable for me and consistently works without issues.

Cons

Integration options are limited and the support team hasn't been helpful. The solutions they provide often feel pointless and not well thought out.

Doesn’t require much training

Pros

Getting started with this cloud-based CRM was very simple. It didn't take much training to begin using it, even though we probably didn't take advantage of everything it could do. It worked really well for tracking clients and prospects, along with keeping notes, contracts and other important details organized.

Cons

Duplicate accounts can build up in the system pretty easily especially when multiple users are working in it. Another issue is that sales reps sometimes forget to update a prospect and move them over to client status.

Very user-friendly navigation

Pros

Found it easy to handle. Even when I click into the wrong place, it's simple to find my way back to what I was actually looking for.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind. I've really been enjoying using it.

Modular and scalable fit

Pros

Its amazing how modular and scalable it is. Being able to customize the platform and choose the parts that best match our organization was the key reason we decided to go with it.

Cons

A few search-related features can feel a bit disorganized so finding them quickly is not always as simple as it should be.

Helpful lead tracking boost

Pros

Having lead tracking available is a big win for a small business where just one or two people are handling sales, marketing and business development. Zoho makes that possible even on the free plan which adds a lot of value.

Cons

That said the free plan is pretty limited especially when it comes to connecting with other Zoho tools like Zoho Campaigns. It would be much better if the free version worked more smoothly with the free tiers of their other products. On top of that, the pricing doesn't really scale well for a small business that only needs licenses for a couple of users so over time it starts to feel too expensive for what it offers.

Client alerts revived old business

Pros

It organized our sales funnel and made it much simpler for the team to stay on top of active deals. The client-based custom notifications were especially useful since they helped us reconnect with old clients and bring in business again.

Cons

The platform is really designed with sales and prospecting in mind so it falls short when it comes to supporting broader business operations. If a company plans to scale, it will likely need another tool to manage operations and financials.

Totally worth the investment

Pros

it offers a lot of value for the price. The support team has consistently been helpful whenever I've needed assistance and the platform is very simple to use.

Cons

I moved away from it and tried a competitor because it offered some newer features. I've since returned to Zoho because it now includes those features, along with other capabilities the competitor didn't have.

Up and running in clicks

Pros

Getting started only took a few clicks so it was quick to set up and start using. The marketing team was a bit pushy and didn't really present all the available features very well but I'm still glad we chose this product over other options like KACE.

Cons

Using it day to day is simple, training others is simple and there are plenty of useful knowledge base articles to rely on. The only downside was that when the documentation didn't cover something, the support experience felt a little lacking.

Great pricing

Pros

The pricing and feature set line up exactly with what we needed. It's also really convenient to customize the fields so they match how our business actually works and the IMAP email integration with Outlook 365 has been a big plus.

Cons

I don't enjoy having to enter the lead source every time a record moves from lead to deal. It's also a downside that it doesn't connect with my phone provider, Diapad.

Solid starting point

Pros

It was a solid starting point for us, even if it wasn't the final answer for our contact management and marketing needs. Getting everything set up was quick and simple and it has given us enough flexibility to grow as our needs have expanded.

Cons

It still misses some of the capabilities you get with larger enterprise platforms and a few competing products. Because of that, we ended up relying on marketing features from other tools to cover the gaps and handle certain issues.

Emails on the go

Pros

Using it feels very simple. I can install the Zoho app and check my emails while I'm out and there's also the option to use the desktop app or just open everything through the website. Having all those access options makes it really convenient.

Cons

The way emails are sorted can be pretty confusing. Searching is also a bit frustrating because it's hard to get the right results even when using relevant keywords.

Smooth migration

Pros

Right from the start, the interface felt clean and simple so getting around the system didn't take much effort. The setup was simple enough to begin selling on day one and the migration process was also very manageable. It works really well for handling tasks, leads and emails.

Cons

It's an excellent piece of software overall but email marketing is where it falls a bit behind. There tend to be quite a few spam complaints from outgoing emails to customers.

Beginner-friendly feel

Pros

it works well as a CRM for people who are just getting started especially if you haven't had much experience with other CRM platforms. That beginner-friendly feel is definitely a plus.

Cons

The reason we moved in a different direction came down to the layout. It just didn't match the overall feel our company wanted and that ended up being a key factor in our decision.

Dependable support

Pros

Wanting an alternative to Gmail, I came across it after doing some research. Over the years, one thing that has consistently stood out is how strong and dependable their customer support has been.

Cons

At this point I really don't have any complaints. I'm satisfied with the service and haven't run into any cons.
