Powerful Product if You Have Time Available to Customize
Pros

Perch is very powerful and lets me monitor almost all aspects of my managed systems. The agent installation process is quick and effective.

Cons

Perch needs a lot of time to set up monitoring for all sources. Customizing alerts also takes quite a bit of time. This product is better suited for experienced sysadmins.

Perch failed us for Security and compliance
Pros

The initial pricing is appealing but costs can add up quickly. It doesn't scale very well.

Cons

Log retention is a problem. We failed an audit because we couldn't provide raw logs for the required time. Perch is a basic alerting system and sometimes misses alerts.

Outsourced SOC at it's best
Pros

The deployment is quite simple. Perch makes it easy to get started and provides excellent support by monitoring and notifying us about important events.

Cons

The product is pretty comprehensive. Perch does not try to overdo it with their service but it did be nice if they did a more thorough review of our first setup with us. We might have spotted issues sooner.

Useful for team collaboration
Pros

The integration with many of the essential services we rely on made this an obvious choice during our evaluation. The team's consistent communication helps us feel assured about how the product performs.

Cons

As with any product, there was a steep learning curve and I would say the documentation is not as good as it could be.

Perch has made delivering advanced security services possible for our business!
Pros

Perch has allowed us to centralize all information about possible breaches supported by an elite group of experts who help us understand it all. We have established a dynamic partnership with the Perch team and our clients appreciate that we are identifying potential threats before they escalate.

Cons

When we chose Perch to deploy to all of our managed clients, our initial deployment was a challenge. We expected this to be a smooth process led by the Perch team and that is not what we experienced. I believe that they have resolved some of these issues as recent deployments have gone more smoothly but when something wasn't working properly and they found the issue, it was typically a configuration issue that we never could have known needed to be done in a tool that we had never used. More guidance in this process would have been appreciated.

CNWR is good
Pros

Their customer support stands out and the community might be the strongest selling point. Frankly they have developed a tool anyone could replicate but they focus on selling the community and their commitment to improving the tool. Their team has been outstanding to collaborate with and has been a key player in the community for ongoing improvements and thought leadership.

Cons

The price is the only issue and it is really actually a competitive price.

Great Solution for SIEM and SOC for a Small or Mid-Market company serious about security
Pros

The toughest aspect of setting up most SIEMs is creating the SOC (Security Operations Center) the team that monitors the software so you get the most value out of the investment. Perch solves this issue so companies do not need to recruit, train or manage staff. It delivers instant value.

Cons

This tool should had a better way to scale to large and enterprise accounts. I see this getting expensive for large companies.

An excellent choice
Pros

The integration functions are done really well. We are highly satisfied with Perch giving us full access to both our data and our clients data while still offering a SOC service.

Cons

I wish there was a way to reach someone immediately by phone in the event of an emergency but we have not needed this so far.

An SOC that will have your back
Pros

Remote SOC fairly simple to learn clean interface and integration with numerous platforms.

Cons

Needs to integrate with more firewall logging. I believe it does not work with Watchguard or Fortinet presently. I would also like it if it could do vulnerability scanning or have the ability to automate some processes like disabling Microsoft 365 access if an account has suspicious activity or disabling an endpoint that is compromised.

Happy Customer
Pros

The Perch team is easy to collaborate with and available whenever needed. The SEIM and SOC services deliver as promised and were extremely easy to implement.

Cons

As we use more and more Azure services, the current ability to access Azure logs is limited. We expect this to be improved over time but currently this area is not as feature rich as we would like.

IDS/SIEM for MSP's
Pros

It is great to have an IDS/SIEM tailored to the MSP market. The product is crafted with MSP operations in mind and the pricing structure also aligns with the MSP sector.

Cons

If I had to pick one item, it would be that processes are not 100% polished. However, support is good and will make sure your issue is resolved.

Easy to configure
Pros

The setup process is clear. After completing it once it becomes easy to replicate. Ensure you have the credentials to your switches to allow port mirroring for incoming and outgoing traffic.

Cons

Include in the instructions that you need the step about configuring your switch to monitor all traffic. This step should almost be first before you install otherwise it isn't seeing all traffic.

Perch - Very Useful Tool
Pros

The software is simple to operate and integrates with all our systems making it the centralized solution we needed. It has helped us assist our clients and uncover previously hidden security risks building greater trust with them.

Cons

Sometimes links don't take you to the correct alert which can cause confusion. Physical sensors can go offline which is troublesome given the remote nature of all employees.

Perch gives you confidence and peace of mind
Pros

Integrating with existing platforms was key for us and so is Perch's active monitoring. It eases the load on my team and gives me peace of mind that multiple layers of alerts are watching our feeds and those of our clients.

Cons

The effectiveness of the monitoring is only as good as the number of incoming log feeds and the number and configuration of alert templates. We don't know what we don't know so it takes time to simply decide what is baseline monitoring for an environment and what is optimal monitoring.

Threat Intelligence
Pros

The integration with O365 has been a major advantage allowing us to easily consolidate information in one place. The setup process was very simple as well.

Perch Security - SOC-backed Threat Hunting and SIEM that is not complicated
Pros

Perch has a strong community vibe. Its users are passionate about it and readily support one another by sharing tips tricks and customizations. This collaboration extends to Perch itself as the improvements made to the product clearly reflect user feedback.

Cons

This is a product where the more one puts into it, the more one gets out of it. It is no magic system out of the box per se. This is not really Perch's fault but to a normal person one could think that.

The tool has helped us immensly in providing cyberdefense to our customers
Pros

This product covers everything. It touches the network individual hosts and cloud-based resources collected into a very versatile and feature-rich SIEM or SIEM-like tool which gives us a clear view of our network activity.

Cons

When we first engaged with Perch they had not yet completed some key integrations. Those have been completed now. I can't really think of a current limitation that we wish were better. We are very happy with the product.
